    6 points
  13. Yeah give Streveler a game plan with the actual play book and he can do the exact same ball control offence Nichols does. If anything probably a bit more diversified and allowing Harris more space. Lapo has to throw out the trickery and gimmick **** and let the play makers do their thing. With Strev in now..and using multiple motion and misdirection stuff teams wont know what to key on or who to focus on and will open up a lot of options. Teams are gonna start cheating in and then we can hit them with the deep shots down the field. This idea Strevler cant throw is off base..he just needs repetition and plays..with designed routes to actually get the ball to allow him to progress..not the stuff Lapo has him running Lapos stupidly timed change of pace thing there when the offence was humming was the stupidest thing done all year..what he was trying to accomplish other than kill momentum was baffling

  15. in the post game show, MOS was talking about this....said they went to him awhile back and told him that they'd like him to learn how to play End a bit. He apparently is incredibly smart...takes a little bit of information and just gets absolutely everything out of it. Learns very very quickly. It's impressive, to be sure...

Tell you one thing..our young depth is pretty damn good..and gonna get better. Kongbo is gonna be a beast Willie 2.0..he already is having an impact..Ol Jake better buy him some wobbly pops as his sacks where a direct result of Kongbo's pressures and attention they need to show him..scary part he is just learning this CFL game and his opponents.. and what've better mentor to have the Jefferson. Richardson too..still learning but super disruptive.. Other than the one sack Eli whiffed on when he was on the edge he showed brute power and mean streak on his other reps..and high energy too..guy is gonna be a ass flattener for us. What really shocked me tho was Hansen off the edge..where did that tenacity and over powering skill come from..blew me away..if they keep working him in practice there he can rotate in again in a pinch.. dude was a beast
    5 points
  17. That is a 3 yr old report..tho some still holds true..but guy can throw.. over 4300 yards in his senior season. He just needs a playbook with more than 5 plays like he has been force fed this year...and the game plan needs to be tailored to him. With his run threat we need to move the pocket..use roll outs and varied misdirection and motion plays...if he is bootlegging and rolling out he will gouge teams big time because the cone up too soon and ge has guys left open..they hand back too long he will get huge gains. A game plan tailored for him...frst team reps all week...good oline and his run ability..he will do ok..as long as he doesnt try to be a hero and run ball controlled offense..he can win Dont try to make him play a style that's not him..thats my one fear with cutesy lapo..his thinking he gonna fool teams.

  30. Sayles, Harris and Jefferson all made huge impacts and are stars in this game .. I'm going to try and be a bit different and give reasons why. Three stars (in no particular order): Geoff Gray - he's in there mixing it up week in, week out. He was scrapping pretty good with 91 from BC last night and seeing how he (and the interior of our line plays) makes me smile. Janarion Grant - how long have we wanted a legitimate return threat? A guy who can rip the top of a coverage team, make people miss and find a seam. This guy is it. Dangerous every single time he touches the ball. The only time he touches the ball, he changed field position in a big way. Jake Thomas - people under-rate that guy. He's not flashy, he's not an all-star but he's a guy who brings it every single snap and is the type of rotational player every team needs (especially if they expect to compete in the post season). 3 tackles and 2 sacks. Not a bad night for FatBoi. Happy Honker: Thiadric Hansen - the guy is just a ball of intensity and focus and I had to laugh a couple of times when it looked like he wasn't sure if he should stay on the field or come off. Was fun to watch him get playing time. His contribution speaks to the thoughtfulness Walters et. al put in when evaluating these internationals.

Was calling Kongbo Mini Jefferson he is just a smaller version. Jake's first sack was beautiful stunt looked like the ones Doug Brown used to run. Hansen looks like he has taken coaching very well. He had the physical attributes to play but now his knowledge is starting to come around. This really what 2.0 is all about. Getting these first guys in here and having them compete as professionals even if they all don't turn out they are going to back and be able to coach up the kids back in their home countries on what it takes to be a professional.

  32. Strev's INT was a tip..on an I'll advised throw..and chalk that up as a learning experience..which he will as he is a smart guy...seen that a million times with inexperienced QB's..guarantee next time he puts his head down and barrels forward for positive yards.. Positive of it tho..and I have noticed this before with him that when he is scampering around and looking like he is gonna run..he is still scanning down field for an open guy..once our receivers realize this they will be coming back to the ball..Thats what makes me think of younf Dunnigan when I watch him..and he did that a lot in college...they are used to Nichols style and if he looks to run..he is all run..or hook sliding...and Lucky was there for the pass open as open can be..just a nice football play by BC..hey that happens in games from time to time as the other team is trying too

  33. Chris Streveler scouting report: I think it confirms all whats good and not so good. The good news is there's lots of room for improvement with the right coaching. FLASH SCOUTING REPORT: Chris Streveler is a player’s QB; one of the guys... strong, thick build... solid frame... still learning the QB position... lacks the nuances of smooth QB, but has come far in last 2 seasons... strong arm... LORD, what a trigger! ... ball is out with flick of the wrist, with steam... rapid delivery using compact motion and high release point... lacks finesse at this point... very shallow reads; 1-n-done... still, makes good on his early reads... worked from shot-gun in a tempo offense... confident and enthusiastic play... pocket presence needs seasoning as he is late to recognize the rush... sets platform quickly but uneven footwork causes uncoordinated throwing motion... platform is good, but fails to drove off back leg for power... arm-thrower... still, ball comes out with fire and in a hurry... accuracy is there but flawed within the window... ball-placement is not his priority, but he hits the receiver’s catch radius accurately and timely... not a shy passer and will give his receivers a chance to “win” the football... deep ball is hit-n-miss, but plenty of distance... could improve downfield juice and accuracy with better footwork from the platform... shows signs of throwing his receivers open rather than waiting for a clean jersey... still, no evidence of fluency on comebacks, back-shoulder throws or fades... Streveler is darn mobile and a dangerous runner... very effective on QB draws, boots and picking up chunky gains from a broken pocket... not a creative runner, but very effective... rushed for over 1500 yards and scored 20 ground TDs combined last 2 seasons... makes a terrific RPO pro prospect but needs quality NFL QB coaching... a good coach can create a winner here using that lightning release and athletic make-up.

    GDT-Tire fire vs Bombers

I heard on the radio this morning that the Bomber Offense is in the top 3 of the league in most offensive categories other than passing yards. Now I will admit I didn't fact check this nor will I because it doesn't bother me very much. My question is, why is passing yards so hard to get over when the Bombers are winning? As far as I know they call more running plays than any other team which means they run less passing plays than any other team so if my math is correct, they would more than likely have less passing yards than....any other team. Again, I didn't fact check anything because it doesn't bother me as long as the Bombers are getting more Ws than Ls.

  37. 20 years of lapolice, this is his go to second and long play. First time I remember it not working and securing the kick he intended when he called it
    4 points
  38. He didn't look lost, he made one bad throw (to an open receiver mind you), otherwise he never got a real offense. Lapo treats him like a running back not a quarterback. If he has to start I would expect him to look a lot better because he (unless Lapo is even dumber than I think) will get a more robust playbook to work with.

    1) Harris... You just have to tonight. 2) DL. Roh goes down and Kongbo continues to show he's going to be a star. And Thaddy Hansen apparently is next up as a DE (MOS says in post game he's been training at the position) and shines. 3) Sayles.... I said before TC started that he was my "player you're most looking forward to seeing this year" amd he's lived up to the hype. Amd then some. HH - Lucky/Janarion Grant... Teams are terrified of them and for good reason.

  44. Good team win. As much as I wanted Streveler in the game, I have no idea why THIS was the time to give him a series. Nichols was playing well finally. After that it was more of the same unfortunately. Defense and special teams were great. We will see how LaPo designs the offense next week if Nichols is out. Hopefully Harris is alright too.
