I just wanted to shout out to the Big Blue a thank you for a very entertaining season. It didn't end quite how the fans and the Organization wanted, but it was one hell of a season. Even with the quick exit from the play offs and that maddening defense- we are going in the right direction and improving. Thanks again for a great season and the never quit attitude!

It was the most enjoyable season, week in and week out, that I've experienced, as a fan, in many many years. Can't thank the organization enough for every ounce of effort they put in every week. The team is going to look a lot different next year, and that's what makes this moment so heartbreaking. Already looking forward to 2018 and GC Week in March...

On the bright side I am more convinced than ever that Matt Nichols ends our grey cup drought.

To put it into perspective.. we went 12-6, we hosted a home playoff game and unfortunately we played the hottest team in the league heading into the playoffs. It's unfortunate to be one and done but it was a good season, and I think we're a few small steps away from being even better next season. overall it was a great season and I'm already excited for next year.

Here’s the bottom line for me. Edmonton has guys like Bryant Mitchell and Duke Williams sitting on the bench due to a surplus of receivers. For us, Darvin Adams goes down and we are left with a collective of guys who simply are not good enough. Walters wears a lot of this.

1 Harris. We forgot about him. But he played like a man possessed. The whole time. 2 Dressler. Same thing, big plays every time we needed em. 3 Coates. Caught every thing thrown his way, and 2 big plays when the game was still close. HH, Goes to the fans. Stuck it out, still loud late in the game down a bunch. they gave all the energy and lift. Down 2 tds with less then 5 left still made a ton of noise.

I'm operating under the assumption his career is going to be over, Achilles at 30+ years old in an athletically demanding position ... Unfortunate I hope he wants to and can come back. My favorite Bomber in a long time.

I reserve judgement on personnel because I don’t feel they were consistently being put in a position to succeed. That said ... For as much as I love Loffler and his physical style of play, he’s not a coverage safety and is a liability at times. He’s probably best suited closer to the line of scrimmage in run support. Sam ******* Hurl. I’ve railed against that guy for years now and this season hasn’t changed my mind. I expect MORE from that position. Alexander / Walker. Both guys are young and are only going to get better. Both played very well in stretches but both showed their inexperience at times. This season turned the moment Mo (and to a lesser extent Westerman) went down. That guy is the heart and soul of that defense and without him .. they just had nobody that players could rally around.

Anybody want this troll assclown banned? Congrats to Jonestown on winning a crossover game, the CFL equivalent of a participation ribbon.

Amazing how you only ever show up here after your team wins. But when they lose, you're nowhere to be found. Pathetic. To clarify on Hall, his 2007 defense went up against a QB making his first career start. And even then, the Riders only managed to win by 4 points. In 2013, it was widely reposted Chamblin took over defensive play-calling because Hall's schemes were ineffective. This troll routine of yours is godawful.

1. New DC 2. Backup QB 3. Bigger, faster import receivers 4. MLB 5. At least one more DHB or CB

The one good thing about today's game is that the D played sooo poorly that there is no way Hall can be brought back next year... Is there????

My biggest problem with the fake punt was not the call - it was the execution - they have to sell it - not have 4 guys running around before the ball is snapped. It was telegraphed which is why Edmonton picked up on it.

I also felt it was a potential (later confirmed) turning point. Who let Watson shoot the gap like that? He gets picked up, possibly or even likely a different outcome. Other factors were there all game long that can't be ignored: *When* Hurl was in the right place at the right time on Gable still = whiffed tackle and huge gain/score. I'm a big Kevin Fogg fan but the guy is NOT cut out for SAM linebacker. 2 or three steps behind on a lot of plays. Had Gable in the backfield a couple of times amd couldn't hang on. Nichols let down by drops on critical downs - what a shame. Watched the game till the end and even though it was garbage time... grateful for a bit of window dressing to take the sting off the D folding. Pathetic I know but still. Mainly I just can't imagine what Nichols, Harris, Dressler et al were going through at the end.

I actually loved the call. Go be aggressive and try to win the game. Some calls work and some don't. That will be an easy one to latch onto as a mistake, but I don't mind being aggressive.

That is taking the play out of context, there was no reason to call a fake at that time with poor field position in a tight fought play-off game. It was a psychological punch to the gut for O'Shea, the team and every Bomber fan watching the game from which they did not recover. Rewind the memory bank of inappropriate timing and this fake exceeds the stupidity of Medlock's failed pass attempt earlier in the season against BC. No reason for that play call at that time.

right after Christmas you part ways. And most likely do some networking and initial "discussions" at Grey Cup Week. If I was Miller/Walter's I would be in Steinauers's ear now...offer him DC/Asst HC and make him the highest paid assistant in the game up here..Lure him away from Fresno State., or at least make an offer that he has to consider..I not sold on Thorpe moreso as how he relates/co-habitats with players and staff so Steinauer would be my A1 target.

I voted for 3 years + the big bonus, would also hope we can re-sign Hurl.

Rebuilds are cheaper if you do them faster - well ok then. Whoever the cuss you are - you might want to look at what happened when Kevin Glenn was qb'ing an über talented team for Calgary.

A 12-6 record is legit - we won a lot of tough games. We are as good as our regular season record suggests. Doesn't mean we don't need to be better in the playoffs, though.

No... losing is not ok- I expected better. Multiple redundant threads about firing everyone is not ok either. None of this has anything to do with being a better fan.

Hall needs to be gone this off-season. We need somebody who doesn’t just ask a player to take on blocks. We need a defensive coordinator who asks his players to beat blocks!

I'm convinced it's the system. I can't honestly believe the personnel on the defense is as bad as it has looked in recent weeks, including today. Randle, Heath, Loffler, Santos-Knox, Wild... These are all talented players capable of making an impact. I have to think the system in which they've played doesn't play to their collective strengths.

Esks get away with holding on every other play. Refs need to call it occasionally at the very least.

The 3 biggest points in this game are: Gables' touchdown where he dragged 9 different Bombers into the endzone. Hurl got beat bad and then the us going for the strip and holding him up bit us in the ass cause they got the push. The fake punt: everyone complained the first year that MOS was a coach that was coaching to not lose games and not win games. This was a call made to win a game. If they were successful this would have been a different story The multiple 3rd and 2's that lead to punts and field goals instead of first downs and touchdowns. This was a game were kicking a bunch of FG's was not going to cut it

I personally thought it was an awful call. But the D was atrocious as well.

Early in the 3rd quarter the Bombers line up to punt on 3rd and 4. The Blue have a slight psychological edge owing to the way the first half concluded when the defence got to Reilly twice. Edmonton was in shock that they weren't running away with the game. It looks like things are coming the bombers way, then.... As far as I'm concerned MOS mis-assesses the momentum the bombers have and decides on a surprise gamble. We do not execute the gamble well and turn the ball over. Edmonton cannot believe it's good fortune and drives the ball into the end zone for a touchdown. One thing leads to another leads to another and another.... That's how the psychological scales change everything and Mr. O'Shea personally blows our playoff chances. Football is a game of momentum and we reversed ours into the sewer . Michael O'Shea is still learning, still making major mistakes, and still maturing. He has guts and courage and balls and even if he did cost us a chance at a Grey cup this year I like him as our head Coach (because I am looking at the long term, as I have been for the last 27 years). There goes another woulda, coulda, shoulda .... Good year Blue!

Flanders only needed to get 3 yards.......just didn't work. But that was no reason (or excuse) for the D to just fold like a cheap suit, on that drive.....and then completely fall apart as the half went on.... D also fell apart late, in the playoff, last year as well...... Tiring....

You don't know that. Field position wins games & we gave up a ton of real estate by not punting which led to the Esks scoring a TD. We had stopped their offense the series before. We lost all the momentum we had after that fake. It was definitely the turning point. It was a dumb call.

And a legit middle linebacker.

Turning point was when Richie Hall and Sam Hurl arrived at the stadium today. Those 2 need to be replaced before this team can take the next step. That and O'shea's coddling of his players and dumb decisions at critical times. If a player stinks, he needs to be replaced. How many games did Carmichael cost us with his horrible play before he finally left? And IIRC he left on his on accord, it wasnt even a situation where the Bombers got rid of him. And right up until the end O'shea would spoon feed us bulls**t about how they liked his game and he was coming around. Hurl has been a speed bump the entire season but ill bet if you asked O'shea he would tell you he is doing his job well and they like his game. I mean christ, in the postgame interview when Bob asked him about the godawful breakdowns in the secondary he STILL defended them saying something along the lines of it wasnt all their fault and its not why they lost. ENOUGH CODDLING ALREADY. Quit feeding us horsesh*t and telling us its filet mignon. You think guys like Hurl would still be around in the days of Cal Murphy or Dave Ritchie? Not a chance.

Every coach, and most fans know that O'Shea has used a lot of trick plays over the last couple of years. Other teams are ready for it now. Bombers Played them dead even till the fake punt. Edmonton goes in and scores. Bombers collapse. They were never in this game again after that play. yes it was the turning point. question. Why go for a two point convert on the last play of the game? That was plain stupid.

Edmonton played good but i feel we were our own worst enemy today.. Cant tackle and blown coverages plus 3 turmovers to 0. Yup. Self inflicted

You are starting to sound like a rambling idiot. Did you read what you typed before you hit send. In that case the player made the mistake not Hall. How about you admit your wrong on that one. Yes Hall should be replaced but at the same time see there was good calls he made.

Nichols too, played well while hurt. We have such a good team. That DC though....
