BC is a very poorly coached football team, and easily rattled as a whole. No depth at any particular position, a weak o-line, awful play calling. When your starting running back has 12 carries combined in the first two weeks....you have a lot of problems.

You can't judge teams like that. If the Bombers beat a team by 10 points & another team beats that same team by 15 points it doesn't mean the other team is better. Every game is different.

BC's OL was beaten up last night and it started on the first play. Jackson needs to go back to OC 101. When a team is blitzing and smacking your QB around, screen, draw, quick hitters. Run the ball outside and inside and stop handing it off deep, cuz that's just another way to let their DL take shots in the back field. I thought that player safety, especially for QB's, was supposed to be the focus this year. Why did BC have to use both their challenges on obvious roughing penalties? Couldn't the eye in the sky call them if the refs on the field didn't like they did after BC ran out of challenges? BTW: What turns a 15 into a 25 yard penalty? Edmonton owned the Lions in all facets of the game last night from the 2nd quarter on. BC's only TD came directly from Eskimos penalties. Reilly took more hits than a pinata. I thought he might have been concussed early in the game. Camera showed him breathing very hard on the sidelines well after he got there. Looked like he might lose his cookies to me. Why'd they leave him in at the end of the game? Gotta say I didn't think Edmonton would do much this year, but their looking very dangerous early in the season.

I'm sure a week of game film helps. The Bombers looked a bit rusty on the road last week, too. In any case, next week should be a good test for the home team.

Gonna be a close hard fought one here for sure. I'm not taking the schmoes lightly at all because that would be foolish with the talent they got. But ... We're definitely in better shape than BC at the moment and they'd better think again if they plan to use the same game plan against us that they used against them. They knew BC had no run game so they just sent the house on Reilly most of the game. With A Harris and Lapo's draw plays or RPO plays, they won't be able to do that on us. Catch em off balance with those draws, get them to crash in on A Harris and we can use the play action Darvin or C Matthews deep ball on them, or even get mid route seams to Woltairesky to catch em off guard in space. And ... I think on defense Bighill might be able to bait T Harris into a few rushed throws or a few hangers for Hecht to make a play on. I know we aren't done this week but this game is already getting me anticipating already.

Yes, we did not lay a beating on BC like Edmonton did last night, but it was the first real game of the year, and our parts were still meshing. The next game against the Esks should tell us a lot about the Bomber O-line and the Esks' D-line. I still hold that the Esks' O-line is highly suspect and vulnerable.

You pay a QB 700K, then run a playbook than looks like it is about a 3rd of a page long - no screens, draws or checkoffs. Receivers keep running 40 yards down the field, while Reilly tries to hold the ball, deep in the pocket with no pass pro. You bring in Chung at 300K, who's forte is run blocking - but you don't run the ball Yes the Lions have some other problems....but no idea what Jackson is doing here.

Bombers with Nichols-Streveler is very good.... as is BLM-Arbuckle... Arbuckle doesn't have much experience yet but he's going to be a good one. Beyond that, I don't think anyone could even make a legitimate case. Ticat fans might say Masoli-Evans but that's just wishful thinking. SSK and MTL aren't even in the conversation. TOR doesn't have a legit #1 but two very good backups... EDM has Kilgore backing up and BC has O'Brien, both of whom have proven only that they should not be pro QBs. Quarterback depth in the CFL seems to be at an all time low. Hope everyone stays healthy.

There's no fan base more deserving of being garbage for a long time than the Riders. I don't ever recall any fanbase becoming so insufferable in my lifetime as they did, with such limited success. That being said there's a lot of work to be done before we can all collectively stroke each other.

I don't wanna get too cocky and chirp too much because I'm a big believer in karma, but man, what I wouldn't give for us to be the new "unbeatable" Stamps, and for the Riders to be a totally shitbag all year...
