  2. I've got some time, so here's what we've talked about on the CJOB Sports Show (happy to answer any questions for the next little bit): WR has been consistenly Lawler-Schoen-Demski-Bailey-Wolitarsky. Bailey moving back to the slot after a year at WR. Line is Bryant-Gray-Kolankowski-Neufeld-Hardrick. I haven't seen any reps for anyone else with the first team. Dobson has been 6th OL. Eli at C with 2nd team. Brady practiced day 1, but not since then. Johnny took over, but missed a couple days. Appeared he was back in limited action today. They signed an American RB today...I'd guess it's because they had only two RBs able to work the last couple days (Salima ahead of Barnes). 2nd offense: Richmond-Dobson-Eli-Machino-various dudes at tackle. Harrison & Agudosi are slots with WR2. They switched Agudosi to the same SB position as Bailey--so there's potential competition for the starting spot. QBs appear to have become Zach, Brown, Pigrome, Jones Defence: Willie-Walker-Thomas-Jeffcoat are #1. Lawson in for Thomas for most of camp, Cooper for Jeffcoat (who's been out since Day 4). With American DTs coming in late we've seen a lot of Schmekel-Kornelson at DT. But I have to believe there'll be another American DT to back up Walker. DBs were Rose-Nichols-Alexander-Parker-Lawrence-Darby. Last few days Holm and Parker started splitting reps with 1st & 2nd team. Houston now in Rose's spot after Rose's injury. Houston was at HB with the 2s before that. Corner Matt Cole has a real good chance to make the team IMO. Fast, strong, a lot of return experience. LBs have been all over the place without Bighill & Wilson. Gauthier for Bighill generally. I've seen Gauthier-Clements, Gauthier-Wade, Gauthier-Dixon (who's been cut), Clements-Wade, Clements-Cole, Clements-Cadwallader, Maruo-Cole...apart from Gauthier it's tough to figure who else is LB2. Wade is explosive in short areas. I'd think he's the best non-starting American box linebacker, but not sure how he is on specials.

    Site Slow Down and Issues

You may have noticed that the site has been somewhat slow today. Trying to diagnose what is causing it, but probably won't be able to dig in deeply until later today. May notice some intermittent up and down time while I try to figure out what is causing it

  5. While the FG% is the same, Sergio is making 88.4% of his converts and Legs is at 66.7%, an area where he has struggled before. Sergio has 7 attempts from 40 or beyond while Legs has 3. 6 out of 19 or nearly 33% of Legs kicks are from less than thirty yards while Sergio has only 3 from that distance. I wish Leigghio nothing but the best but I'd rather have Sergio.

  6. Agudosi with a great catch deep for the td.. match up nightmare mare. Bailey catching everything in his direction. If it were my first time watching the Bombers I'd say he's their best player. Certainly is today Good connection from pigrome to agudosi . Pitch and catch. Going to be hard to imagine agudosi not seeing the field a lot if he can stay healthy. Not the best route runner but catches the ball well. And the size Gotta head off now. In a sentence, the Bombers look ****** good. Hard to single out any real poor play

  7. First star to first half me for sticking with it. Second star to second half me for being able to look back and laugh at first half me. Third star to Oshea for trolling Booch and Mike by playing Jackson at literally every position. HH to Suitor for calling a 10 yard run in a 3 point game before half time a potential TSN turning point.

  14. When did everyone win THEIR Grey Cup this year: Week 3 - BC Lions win their Grey Cup defeating the mighty Bombers in Winnipeg. Pretty much when they peaked. Week 6 - Ottawa RedBlacks win their Grey Cup, defeating the mighty Bombers at home. Don't call it a Crum-back. Week 9 - Calgary Stampeders win their Grey Cup defeating the defending Grey Cup champions, Toronto Argonauts. Week 12 - Edmonton Elks win their Grey Cup defeating the Ottawa RedBlacks at home for their first home victory of the season and their first home game in 22 tries. Week 14 - Saskatchewan Roughriders win their Grey Cup defeating their arch-rivals, the mighty Blue Bombers at home in the Labour Day Classic. Week 15 - Toronto Argonauts win their Grey Cup defeating the Montreal Allouettes, thus securing the East Division. So many victory laps, but nothing else to show for it. Week 15 - Hamilton Ticats win their Grey Cup defeating the mighty Bombers in Hamilton. Not many top quality wins to choose from but this one they earned. East Final - Montreal Allouettes win their Grey Cup shocking the Toronto Argonauts on the road. An upset that no one is upset about. Grey Cup - Today... today is our Grey Cup.!The Winnipeg Blue Bombers attempt to win their Grey Cup, their 3rd in 4 years.

  15. Tidbits courtesy of bluebombers.com and our man Ed Tait: https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/09/02/game-preview-labour-day-classic-2/ *Note: a win this weekend would clinch a playoff spot for the Blue Bombers for a seventh straight season, their longest run since a 17-year streak ended in 1997. - Zach Collaros is 6-0 in his career in Labour Day Classic games – 3-0 during his days in Hamilton, 1-0 in his one season in Saskatchewan and 2-0 in Winnipeg. In those games has a 13:3 TD-to-interception ratio while passing for 300 yards three times and over 400 yards in 2015 while with the Ticats. - The Blue Bombers are 24-3 against West Division clubs since 2021. - A victory in Regina this weekend would give the Blue Bombers a winning record on the road for the third consecutive season, matching a mark last set from 1960-62. These are the good times, folks. I hope you are all savoring them.

  20. Well, 2;45 am on Sunday & no one has started the Grey Cup Game Day Thread so it might as well be me. Let's Go Bombers. Lucky #13. Feeling a tad nervous about later today but I think we'll come through. I don't want to even make Cody Fajardo jokes as we all know this is a winner takes all one game championship so anything (good or bad) can happen. We all saw what happened last week & what occurred in 2001 so we'll have to play our best. If we play our game, we'll win. Not be overconfident or cocky. We're the better team so just take care of business & then we'll be Grey Cup champions.

  22. Just letting everyone know I am alright.... Ha ha. At 22 down, I was cold and soaked from the rain, and was considering heading out and getting to my hotel an hour east of town. Coorsman talked me into staying and, in the end, I'm glad I did. To be able to see that Lawler catch in person is something special...

  24. Nichols showing up again with a nice tip on the ball to prevent shoen from bringing it in. Really good players make it obvious for fans like me. He's really good 79 Westfield burned his coverage on a perfectly thrown deep route.* I THINK* it was 15 josh Jones. Man was that a beautiful pass. The type of pass to make coaches notice Agudosi uses his frame to snag one in traffic. Accurate, yet fluttering pass Pigrome. RB Salima Jordan has some speed. Nice cuts and vision Pigrome under pressure and makes a bad decision to try and dump it off underneath. Wasn't picked but not a good choice. Comes back on 2nd and 10 with a deep out throw just out of reach of the receiver More to follow

  28. Lots of interesting stuff here: https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/10/31/statistical-year-in-review/ Big one that jumped out to me 100/955 Winnipeg was penalized 100 times in the regular season for 955 yards, fewest in the CFL. And here’s the number that just reinforces how disciplined this team is – over the last five seasons, 2017-23, the Blue Bombers have been the least penalized team in the league EVERY SINGLE SEASON.

  35. Lurkers help keep the lights on and if, as a community, we drive those people away it's less likely the lights stay on. In a professional setting are you someone who thinks those in a meeting who are shy, introverted or hesitant to speak are worthless or are you someone who looks for ways to give them a voice? Do you recognize that different views, perspectives and experiences are valuable and hearing them might benefit the team as a whole or are you someone who rejects that person because they lack the confidence to put themselves out there? Food for thought. Frankly, I'd rather this be a place where *anyone* feels safe to contribute .. where those with knowledge foster a spirit of understanding of the game and are humble enough to recognize their opinions are not gospel .. I want more voices, not less.

  36. Scott Grant Photography has a great action photo of your father I'm sure your family would appreciate. You should contact him. His photos are online & you can order it. I remember your father very well. He was just a natural as a player. Peter excelled whatever position he played. He was a safety, a corner, a receiver (wingback) & he could run with the ball as well. He also was the Blue Bomber long snapper. At 185 lbs & he did that very well, too. I remember the game in 1972 when he picked off 4 passes against the BC Lions. Your Dad was one of my favourite player's back when he played.

    I love you all.

Heartbreak only matters when you aren't a casual. We aren't a casual fan base, we don't abandon our team when **** hits the fans. A lot of you are veterans of the 29 year plague, and know that the heartbreak last night stings because we love our team and province. I am grateful to be a part of a fan base like ours that cares, is committed, and loves our team We didn't become obnoxious pigs with success like the rider fans did, and we didn't abandon our team to half empty crowds when the going got tough like whats happening in Alberta. I tried to get this message across last night and maybe it was too soon or too poorly written. The raw emotion of last nights loss stung. But I want you to know that to all my fellow Bomber fans, you should keep your head high because you're part of something bigger than all of us individuals, greater than the sum of our parts. Our profession is Blue. We will be back next year and I can't wait. Enjoy the off season and I love and appreciate you all and I will always be Winnipeg no matter where I am.

  39. Yes, have arrived in Bali...having left Lombok (ok, part of Lombok) in a state of excitment...about our Blue Bombers Grey Cup drive, down the stretch..... In the spirit of international good will....a language exchange has been formed. This exchange enables me to add interesting new phrases to my knowledge of Bahasa Indonesian. In return, the local population has acquired a better knowledge of the CFL...as well as some useful phrases such as: "Fake Argos" "BC sucks" "Riders no good" "Bombers rule!" "Elks roadkill" I may be far away in body....but not in spirit. The Blue Bomber organization must realize that I am still watching..... Go Blue!!

  40. Just came across this forum and signed up to join in on the conversation on the roster. Was reading some of the stuff people commented about on the PR shrinking and ADS and Agudosi getting picked up elsewhere and it made me look back to the post-COVID classes of American players the Bomber FO has brought in: 2023 Class Damian Jackson, FB/LS - 31 Celestin Haba, DE - 24 Tyjuan Garbutt, DE - 24 Tyrique McGhee, DB - 25 Ravi Alston, WR - 24 2022 Class Dalton Schoen, WR - 26 Evan Holm, DB - 25 Jamal Parker, DB - 25 2021 Class Deatrick Nichols, DB - 29 Ricky Walker, DT - 27 Demerio Houston, DB - 27 Dru Brown, QB - 26 Drew Richmond, OT - 27 (Also Dee Alford and Casey Sayles) Recent signings from other teams: Miles Fox, DT (2023 from BCL) - 26 Desmond Lawrence, DB (2022 from HAM) - 28 Brian Cole, LB (2022 from EDM) - 26 Malik Clements, LB (2022 from EDM) - 27 Feels like a pretty even distribution of younger players being added to the roster throughout the years. I wouldn't say we are running rookies out of town like others. In '22 we didn't keep any of the PR guys we brought in but this year we kept Ravi Alston instead of Agudosi, which makes me think he beat Carlton out or they didn't expect him back next year. Difference this year is the young guys aren't getting as much opportunity to play other than Celestin Haba (looking promising!) and Damian Jackson (groan). But Tyrique McGhee likely being brought along to compete for starting DB spot next season and two rookie DEs are hopefully developing behind Jeffcoat and Jefferson.

  41. This is ridiculous. You’ve been on this bandwagon forever and I really just don’t get it. Nobody’s asking anyone to be a football scout, the pass you keep giving guys for being lazy is crazy. It is not difficult to go to a training camp session and share what your eyes tell you. “Player A seems to be splitting reps in the slot and at wideout, whereas player B is only getting reps in the slot”, “Player C is returning kicks and working with the defensive secondary”, “Player D is taking reps at halfback and the SAM LB spot”, “Player E seems to be having lots of drops, whereas player F catches everything thrown his way”, “Player G looks to be struggling to win his 1 on 1 battles in the trenches”, “Player H has burned longtime starter Z in a few battles today” I’m not looking for an in-depth grading on how they perform in pass pro broken down with film to support their thoughts, I’m looking to see some consideration that they’re going there to REPORT, not play pattycake with their buddies on a sunny day.
