truth...thats been clearly evident the last 4..5 games...I was pining for Darby for a good month or so before we pulled the trigger, and when I saw Lawrence cut loose I was so hoping that we would grab him, as he was just what we needed to help settle things....Much like 2019 with late additions of Maston and Taylor...2 other "cast-offs" who basically completed the puzzle....these 2 late season pick ups are having the same effect....Darby allows us to play different, and he also is so smart he is like BA out there keeping everyone in correct alignment.....and Larwrence has proven game experience, and a lil size to him too which helps....so the other DB's can focus solely on their responsibilities...plus he played lights out yesterday too...and it has a ripple effect....since he been here, and addition of Darby it has made Rose...well look like Rose....if Houston comes back for the Cup, then it's a him for Holm swap out...and damn thats a fine group

he is...he requires attention or he will kill you.....and that why Schoen..Demski and Bailey are able to make plays...pick your poison....if they focus on taking away Demski and Schoen....Ellingson and Bailey will eat them up

He did nothing yesterday

BC won't be in SMS hell next year, because they can't pay Rourke more than the CBA rules for draft picks say they can. (It's in the rules in black and white, not up for yet another stupid argument.)

Rourke will likely be in the NFL for at least the first half of the season anyway. None of VAJ, BLM or Faj-jj will be expensive starting QB's. They'll likely have a cheap 3rd stringer, so they won't be adding more than a couple of 100K to their QB spot. Bringing in a couple of draft picks instead of more expensive backups & dropping Lucky will take care of it.

We will see what their FA list looks like

Well he’s going into an option year so they can decline it and rip up the current deal.  His first two years yes were locked in…but a team can always release a player to sign a new deal anyway.

I still don't think you're correct about that.. but I don't want to drum that argument up again... all I know is if paying Rourke $90,000 next year is the only option... he will not be playing in BC next year.

Here’s a hypothetical.
Rourke is released to try the NFL. He languishes and ends up on a NFL practice roster. Come September, he decides to return to the CFL.
Even if he made a gentlemen’s agreement with the Lions, could it be possible that he engages in a bidding war for the end of 2022? Who would be able to free up the $?

yeah....but someone will refute this....again...and again....if he is back next yr...it WONT be for 85k

All Rourke has to do is get an NFL invite and his contract is moot. He doesn't even need to throw a ball down south, as long as he gets released. The rest of the nonsense to start a useless fight. So, just the usual, self-important, useless drivel.

yup...yup...and yup

You say you're not up for a stupid argument but you bring it up again when even Dave Naylor has said he's not sure how it would look.

Regardless, it doesn't even matter if you're right or not, because if Rourke is in the NFL, the Lions still will be paying his replacement for than 80k next season and there's no way you pay a starter less than 400. SO it will impact their roster. "SMS hell" is probably over stating it, but it's a luxury they had this season, and won't moving forward.

SMS heck then?  They can't afford all those receivers if their QB budget triples/quadruples.  If Menard or Betts (or both) are FA, they are going to be some expensive Canadian DE's to re-sign.

JC Abbott wrote a piece on the win in 3DN. My favorite part is his commentary on Bomber fans. This is an excerpt.

"Winnipeg has replaced Saskatchewan as the home of the CFL’s most relentless fanbase and they tend to let you hear it online. At least with Rider Nation, the most radical fringes could always be ignored as incoherent. Bombers fans at least own a dictionary and they will bludgeon the non-believers with it if given a chance."

It definitely mean trading in a guy or two for a rookie. But 300k isn't going to destroy the whole team. You have that kicking around by the end of the year just based on savings from guys on the 6-game.

Those 2 prob the happiest and luckiest guys in the CFL...their additions too really solidified things...especially Darby...he was all over the place this game...sack.. knock down...coukda had 2 picks...hes so smart out there...allows us to play a lot more free in secondary

i saw a column from a Hamilton journalist who covers the Ti Cats saying that there's two more players that'll get a chance to win a Grey Cup with another team that they won't get there. Then he questioned the way Steinhauer & his coordinators uses theirpersonnel. That their talents are being wasted. Or are being played out of position asking them to perform when they can't.

He'll find losing next year a common event after Rourke leaves.

Just another example of the shoddy takes by pissbaby fanboys posing as sports writers on 3DN.

At least whoever runs their Twitter account doesn't take things too seriously:
