  1. I like that guy as an owner.

  2. I grabbed a few seconds of horn and crowd noise audio from the game highlights. here's a freq distribution for that slice. like you said, sharp peaks ... you can really see how nasty that horn is, it's 10-18db louder than the crowd depending on the frequency. That's a LOT of dBs. TSN must have had a mic pointed directly at horn people. I dorked around with notch filters and parametric eq's but couldn't make anything fine enough to preserve the crowd noise while taming the horn. I wonder if a sound engineer could fix this in the course of a broadcast or if she would shrug and tell her boss they need to fix the problem at its source, by changing up the stadium mics or taking the horns away.

  4. Was going to mention...did anyone else notice at the 2:26 mark of second quarter we ran a play with ZC and Prukop on field at same time..faked an end around sweep with him and handed off to BO up the gut...just thought I'd mention it as the putzs on TSN were oblivious to it... something to watch for next week

  5. 2nd and goal from 26....draw up a nice play to get 4 yards here. Down 17-0 with 5 mins left and play for a FG. Kind of sums up Lapo.

Two separate issues. This is not about the school shooting, it's about the ability for people like Jones to be able to spread their bullshit with zero repercussions. He's not responsible for the shooting but he is responsible for some of the s**t the family has had to deal with and now he's being held accountable for that.

  8. The king shots Jonathan Kongbo: He has bounced in and out of the NFL and CFL throughout his professional career, but will now get a chance to prove himself with the Denver Broncos this summer. This feels like a classic summer depth addition. He has bounced around the NFL and CFL and really hasn’t dominated at either level and is now at the bottom of the depth chart here with the Broncos. Realistically, he is pushing for a practice squad spot. https://www.milehighreport.com/platform/amp/2022/6/26/23179239/broncos-roster-jonathan-kongbo https://predominantlyorange.com/2022/07/27/4-potential-best-kept-secrets-broncos/amp/2/ Finding Talent from the CFL I can always tell when a player is having a good camp because I will get an abnormal number of questions about them. That’s what I’m getting this year with defensive end Jonathan Kongbo. He’s wearing No.90 for those watching camp at UC Health Training Center and he looks good for a reserve player on a deep part of the Broncos roster. Kongbo comes from the Canadian Football League. Undrafted out of Tennessee in 2019, Kongbo was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the fifth round of the CFL draft. He played for the Blue Bombers that year and spent some time battling injuries but was part of the team that won the Grey Cup (the CFL’s Super Bowl) that year. In 2020, Kongbo was released as part of a predetermined agreement to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL, and the San Francisco 49ers gave him a futures contract. He made it through training camp with the 49ers but was waived with an injury settlement at the start of the regular season. Sitting out some time to get healthy, Kongbo then re-signed with the Blue Bombers of the CFL and won another Grey Cup after the 2021 season. After that, the Broncos decided to give him a shot on a futures contract. I like his length and hustle at the defensive end position. Kongbo has long arms to control his man, and that length helps him make up ground when he’s getting after the passer. Kongbo plays with good power, and I know he’s turning heads on the field because fans are constantly asking me questions about him. It is going to be a long shot for him to make the 53-man roster. But if he keeps up this performance through the rest of camp and the preseason, I could see the Broncos finding a spot on the practice squad for Kongbo. I think it’s likely that desjarlais starts the year on the pats pr and that kongbo ends up on another teams pr. The Broncos are deep with young rush end talent but a guy like him having a good camp will be targeted quickly on the waiver wire by other teams.

  11. Something I was thinking when watching the game… does Woli drop anything? Like ever?… the guy has some of the best hands in the league… put it near him and he’ll catch it… just need to start giving him the ball more often… not to mention everything he does in the run and blocking game… just an absolute under-the-radar stud

  15. Two lines from that article sum up the entire problem with MLSE ownership: “You look at value creation and, you know, quite unfortunately, these teams are not worth that much money,” If his entire goal is making the Forbes list and not building an entertaining product, then he won’t bother to make the team better. No one gets rich owning a a CFL team, but they can turn a profit, albeit in the low millions and not billions. Tanenbaum would prefer to have a lousy NFL team because their valuation would be high, even if the on-field product sucks. . Terrible type of owner for fans to have to endure, because he’ll only care about his bottom line and not the fans who pay the freight and want success measured in wins and not the owner’s valuation. “Community owned teams in Edmonton, Saskatchewan, and Winnipeg are happy with the status quo” So the league’s most profitable and best attended franchises are not the model you want to emulate? Tanenbaum doesn’t want to match their kind of success because he sees their profits as too meagre, even though their bottom line is better than his right now. How about trying to match their success first and then looking to get better as an entire league rather than blow it all up because only you can’t get it right like they have?

  22. Arbuckle’s two INTs in his last two drives may show why he has not gotten the chance to be a full time starter with 4 teams in the last 3 years. His decision to throw across his body into triple coverage on the first one was particularly dumb.

  46. When they hired O'Shea, I was truly stoked. If the old adage of "a team usually takes on the personality of the coach", if this holds true- we are going to fine. I had envisioned exactly what seems to be happening now: Mentally tough AF, Been there done that attitude, laser focused on the task at hand and have an aura of inevitability.... 25-1 last 26 games, back to back Grey Cup champs, never flinching in face of adversity and just playing ******* hard-nosed football. Great time to be a Bomber fan... sweeter still if you lived through the heady years of the eighties and then had to suffer 3 freaking decades of futility (with some truly awful years: I'm looking at you Burke, Kelly and Reinebold). Love this iteration of this team...

  47. For argument: Was it Woogie's best game of the year, or just the game he was targeted the most, and therefore ended up with more noticeable plays/stats? I feel like, game in and game out, he's very consistent, but is used so often as a decoy and a blocker. Tonight his number was called more often and he rewarded Buck/ZC8 for it. Also, I don't like this idea that it's a surprise Leggs is having a great year. He was an inconsistent rookie last year, sure, but he kicked like 93% in college and holds CIS records. I'm not the least bit surprised he's back to normal....
