IT IS EASY TO BLAME @CFL BUT THE TRUTH IS IF YOU WANT A "HOME GROWN" CANADIAN QB THE PROCESS MUST BEGIN WELL BEFORE HIS U SPORT CAREER.... U of M Bisons head coach Brian Dobie was convinced Jordan Yantz had a future as a pro quarterback when Blue Bomber GM Kyle Walters gave him a tryout in 2015. “Kyle won't like this, but Jordan Yantz was a great fit somewhere in the CFL,” Dobie said. “(Calgary's) Andrew Buckley is. “His gun was better than most of their guns. He had a stronger arm than Matt Nichols. It's not even close.” Yet Yantz was released without even making an appearance in a pre-season game. Dobie wasn't saying Yantz is better than Nichols, who's since taken over as the Bomber starter. I shudder at spending the first overall pick on a receiver, especially one that seems to still be on the NFL's radar. If he's still there at 6 take a flyer but the first overall has to go to our DL or OL where we need help now.3 points -
Or as Tburg probably will put it - 8 different NFL teams? Why are we hiring a guy who can't seem to hold down a job?3 points

Right, totally comparable. I understand that the larger woman with good vocal chords is getting warmed up to sing, but until she comes out on the stage, we're still playing for a playoff position. It's not whose a better fan, it's just that they are still in the hunt, that's a fact. Until it is no longer a fact, I chose to 'hope'. Just my preference no better no worse than your approach.2 points -

Boudreau would be a good hire. Quite the resume behind him, one that stands out is fairly recently with the Rams; Sounds like a good replacement for Wylie2 points -

Maybe not but he could buy the entire league if he was so inclined.2 points -
The roster bonus is for the players. Even if they were likely going to cut him, if there was no roster bonus, Edmonton could hang on to him at least through training camp, then make a decision based on what they have in camp. The roster bonus forces the team to decide before the season starts to commit to a player. And if they cut him, then there is still time to catch on with another team. One could argue that it would be better for the player if they negotiated the roster bonus to be paid before free agency.2 points

No we are not out of the playoff picture just yet. Going by what I'm reading and seeing, the Jets management, coaching staff and players feel they're still in the hunt. So why wouldn't we get behind that?1 point -

Hoping that this may be the end of Copeland. He made several tries to get Trestman and was rebuffed and so Tannenbaum goes around him to get Popp who closes the Trestman deal. Meanwhile, Milo and Barks were twisting in the wind and knew it was all happening.1 point

I was reading that when Copeland worked in the league office, he and Popp had a really bad relationship, so he didn't want the guy at all, but apparently it was the only way they could get Trestman, so they had to swallow their pride a bit....1 point

I don't know about anyone else, but as a season ticket holder I've always been impressed by the fact Wade takes time out of his schedule to meet and greet with anyone who picks up their season tickets on the first day (just basically greets people picking up their tickets). I think the biggest improvement from him coming in is the fact that he's reestablished the idea that season ticket holders are a cornerstone of the Bombers local fan support, revenue and pride and deserve to be treated as such. He has also done a really good job with some of the bad hands dealt to him by the prior regime. Lastly I think he has a huge desire to help this organization win and be a part of Winnipeg that the city can be proud of... that goes a long way.1 point -

The Bombers originally traded #6 in the 2010 draft for #9 and #22. At nine they took Watson, and then they traded #22 (where Steele was taken) for Alex Brink. Could've had Watson, Steele, and Greaves in the same draft (and we already had Donny O on the DL). Thanks Joe Mack (and thanks for nothing Alex Brink).1 point -

Further to what Rich said, Miller is very customer-focused, and he is instilling that culture throughout the Bomber office. I received 3 calls directly from the Bomber office this season as a season-ticket holder. Two of the calls were initiated by the Bombers, one from Miller directly, asking about the quality of my game-day experiences and asking for feedback. The third was because I had complained to a staff member about not being able to see the game feed while in line for concessions (the screen facing our line was showing the twitter feed). The staff member had noted my seat number and I got a call back the next week. In almost 20 years as a season ticket holder, I have had exactly 0 calls prior to this past season from any of the previous regimes.1 point -

CHL should be disbanded altogether. Let them play high school/college hockey like every other sport. I've never liked how they run this league. Kids getting drafted at 14/15 years old... it's just wrong.1 point
