  1. Sure. There's a good 30-45 minutes a day on the 680 CJOB Sports Show with Christian. Plus training camp hits in sports at 625, 725, 825, 925am and 325, 425 and 525 pm. And we'll have two hours pre-game Monday starting at 1:00pm. We've hit all those topics over the first 10 days. Since I've got some time sitting in Regina: 1) We've seen Shayne Gauthier + Kyrie Wilson / Kyrie + Brian Cole as the LB combos post-Bighill. John Petrishen + Tre Thomas has been another duo from the start. Anyone else isn't getting a ton of work. 2) Liam Dobson at left guard and Eric Lofton at right tackle every day so far. I think Ted Wyman was the first to touch on it on May 12. The only time it wasn't Dobson a LG was the last day because of injuries to Eli and injury/day off for Kolankowski. Dobson shifted to center for that one. 3) Michael Chris-Ike is slowly getting more action in a FB/TE roll after his late arrival. Gabe Wallace was getting first-team reps with the injuries to Neufeld and Eli. They are by far the closest to making an impact early in the season. Clercius is down around the 3rd group of receivers. Kalra is much closer than Vlahogiannis. And Leroux is 100% going back to school, so apart from 1 day where we talked about him, we'll catch up with him next year. Gassama and Hubert appear far down the pecking order. 4) 1st team has been Haba and Fox since day 1. 5) KJ Hill never seemed to get above the third group. And when he got hurt and wasn't going to recover in time, they released him. Had he appeared with the first team like a Ravi Alston, Ontaria Wilson or Myron Mitchell there would have been more talk about Hill. There were roughly 8 guys vying for return spots. They *might* be down to 4, but there are virtually no returns in camp. Without full-speed contact, they aren't worth much. Pre-season games are where we'll see who's who.

  3. No you launched into your tired old tirade when evidence points to this situation not being the same. I agree there's too much loyalty to some aging vets... but I don't think it's a problem on offense really (other than my personal belief that Eli should be a starter somewhere). I know you loved BOLO, but nit like demski or wolitarksy are a problem. He just got caught in a deep spot. You have gone off the deep end on this issue I am sorry to say. Even I'm tired of it and I agree there are some issues, but you're building thus up to be too much.

  4. Me and my girl friend went to go pick up our season tickets today, really fun event at the stadium, I bit the bullet and bought a chris streveler jersey. It was the first jersey I purchased since I got a Charles Robert’s one for Christmas when I was 10 years old lol! I was torn on who to get, but I figured no matter what Streveler’s cult hero status as a Bomber will never fade so it was a safe bet.

  8. Honestly the narrative in here is pretty amusing - you think management is considering firing or even "reining in" Mike O'Shea while the team is in a period of unprecedented prosperity? When they are selling out games while the Jets' attendance is the subject of league wide consternation in the NHL? While half the teams in the CFL (at least) have sub-20000 crowds on a nightly basis? No one in the Bombers front office is even considering suggesting a change to Mike O'Shea. When the casual sports fans in Winnipeg are saying "why can't the Jets be more like the Bombers?" that means the team is doing okay. There are five Bomber fans unhappy and they are all localized within this forum. O'Shea will do exactly as he pleases, as long as he wants.

Walking home from the gym right now and I pass by this dad and his son waving the blue and gold flag on the bridge by jubilee. I LOVE seeing the younger generation getting invested. And I love this city. Go bombers baby

  14. ^^^ Which is why I gave up on the Coach's Show on CJOB and don't bother to listen to it. I admit that I got spoiled in the Kelly year but even Lapo gave some sort of effort at more than one or two word answers to questions. Not worth listening to 45 minutes of commercials to hear zero insight on anything. But hey that's life on that front, I'll take it every day of the week if it means we get to the Cup every year.

  19. I can’t see Lawler and Schoen ever leaving now. The one year deal with Schoen was to try and sign them both together next year. Schoen gets a slight bump, Lawler takes a haircut and it all works out the same

  21. I dunno, I largely agree that there are some roster management issues that the team falls into, I also think that the constant harping on it is getting to be a bit much. I mean we haven't even seen any cuts yet! It's a new year, let's wait until **** actually happens to get all angsty about it.

  23. I loved dressler. As a rider I liked him as much as I could any rider player especially one who used to kill us. He was like buck pierce at wr but with a stronger surrounding cast. From a league stand point he should go in as a rider. If he chose us, I’d be thrilled he was a great player and great person.

  24. In his case, as funny as it would be for us, It’s gotta be Sask. 2-3 years at the tail end of his career isn’t gonna make him put a blue jersey on for the HOF.

  25. I know what happens to teams in this league who don't prioritize their Canadian talent, they end up in the toilet for years at a time. MOS definitely goes overboard in that regard but if that's his biggest flaw then I will gladly accept it. Yes it almost certainly cost us in the big game but would we have been in the big game 4 years in a row without the culture MOS has built here? Without a rock solid base of Canadians? Without being the number one destination for veteran free agents? I doubt it. Believe me, the players see how O'Shea treats his veterans and that's a selling point for Winnipeg. That being said.... The point of talking about sports is often to give your opinion on what your favourite team could be doing better. Nothing wrong with that. The roster could always be one percent better, the team could always win one more game. As far as firing O'Shea for his flaws? That's a tougher sell for me - he's got a lifetime membership as Blue Bomber coach as far as I'm concerned. We're lucky to have him. Flaws and all.

from my early take on what just seen...We will be better at QB2....Dline....Linebacker....Oline will be strong as ever....Receivers the same....running attack better....I think our defensive philosophy will be a much more aggressive attackig one than what Hall liked....I feel good from what I saw even from a pared down vanilla package....we put the right guys on the fielD on defense we are gonna have so many options and looks...it could be scary Wilson as QB 3 may be a nice guy to develop here....Love his body type for QB up here...coverage team scares me again...but maybe with more of the regulars in their role, and addition of guys like Moses...Gemmel..Pertrishen we may surprise

  31. Last year we had the most trouble protecting Collaros, and under thrown deep balls are a classic sign of the pocket being pushed back onto the qb. When you throw deep against a straight pressure or are hit when throwing the ball tends to sail. That’s why we saw soo many pics going back to the early mafia days we had soo many dominant import pocket pushing nose tackles.

  35. People fail to realize that when this regime started...it was a mess...and Miller grabbed the whole pile of steaming crap by the collar..and said from this moment on this is what we are gonna be...this is how we are going to do things..and this is what we will be about....MOS came into his interview and was sure asked his philosophy etc...but was also asked can you do what we are wanting...same with Walter's....and they liked what they saw and decided to give a young guy his chance...it wasn't the other way around...and truth be told I'd be more worried if Miller and Walter's were to walk away than Osh...we'd be just fine with a new coach as this regime wouldn't insert a buffoon...this highly respected coach had one foot out of door...and likely would have been gone if not for upper management suggesting to him to make a few changes before our run..which he smartly did but took long enough doing it..this turn around was a team effort...but it started at the top and was filtered down...it's comical to think many think it was a bottom up thing...but understandable when very few here have ever been in the room and or had dealings with management and how teams...successful teams where people have to answer to someone operate...just look at what happens when they don't...Hi there Chris Jones for example...I shudder to think if Osh was given 100 percent control of everything.

  36. I thought Barriere stunk and I won’t be surprised if they cut him, but I also won’t be surprised or upset if they PR him. The most valuable position, the toughest to learn and we as fans have the quickest trigger finger? They believed in him enough to wait 5+ years, if their evaluation is that there’s more to work with than what one half of preseason football suggests, I’m okay with that.

  38. The great irony is the people who get slammed for talking about MOS' faults have all said there's no coach they'd rather have... people just don't like hearing about a legend like that's issues, but roster management has been a thing with oshea since day 1.

  47. And then immediately played the next 3 years with an organization that has been in a class of it's own in regards to the treatment and ongoing support of it's players. Dressler is basically saying these were the years he enjoyed the most in his career, and based on where he came from I believe this is more than lip service. The Riders dissed him, the Bombers embraced him and helped him grow not just as a football player but as a relatively young man transitioning to a new chapter in his life. Dressler wants us all to know he respects the hell out of that. I will take his indecision at face value.
