"Can he win the big game?" Is a bullshit question this time of year. 1...its still way to far away for there to be a big game. 2. Hes won big games before, everyone looks at the losses, but ignores the wins. He won in Ssk 3 ******* times, hes won banjo bowls, he has won in the playoffs. Important regular season games with playoffs on the line. Lol Its ******* ridiculous to question his ability. "The great ones find a way" look at his record...what does it show? That he has won far more than he's lost. All these questions just sound like "when will he prove to me personally that he will win a grey cup in week 4 of a regular season?" What do you people want? He cant win a grey cup, until it's time to play in the grey cup. Right now, it's about building to GET THERE. As of right now, they're doing a hell of job. Even last night, he threw some bad passes then came back and responded with a TD pass. Didnt turn out well, but that's sports. Go play some and you'll see.

I'd have pulled Nichols after his 3rd int. Streveler may not have won it for us, but he'd get some great experience and his running ability might have made some difference.

Nichols played a lousy game as he himself admitted on the post game. Lapo called a poor game. Turnovers killed us. Those two fumbles on returns cost us 6 points. Oline did not have a great game. Our D was solid overall, especially against Evans. Hamilton's D was outstanding, especially their front 4 and let's highlight Davis.5-1 is still good. Being in first is good. On to the next one.

You guys are putting way too much value on streveler. Yes he can run but he’s not an accurate passer. And very few coaches would pull there veteran #1 qb in this game when it was as close as it was. Don’t blame O’Shea and call him stubborn. He’s doing what most coaches would do.

Some of the more reactionary posts in the last 3 pages is why I avoid this place for 2 days after a game. We have not been exposed. Our roster management is not awful. This team CAN be taken seriously. Nichols overthrew some receivers, the line did not give him good time like in other games, coverage by Hamilton’s DBs was very good on deep balls, the team got down deep early and never committed to the run to get back into the game, and some bad special teams gaffes. Add to that injuries to the two best receivers tonight, and a 6 to 1 turnover ratio, and we lose. Guess what, we weren’t going 18-0. It’s a loss, it sucks, Hamilton was more emotionally ready to play on their first drive and all night defensively, move on to next week. We’re still a good team. I’ll see you all on Monday. A shot downfield late in the game to Demski, perfectly dropped in for him and he's the lowest guy in the group. Put Woli, Adams or Matthews under that pass and they're coming down with it. Nichols was bad but some of his receivers could have made plays too.

I don't think its a bullshit question at all. He has a history of playing poorly in "big" hyped up games. I didn't question his ability which he clearly has, im questioning his mental toughness when all eyes are on him. Its almost like he gets too amped up in big games and is sailing balls all over the field while trying to force things which leads to poor decisions. Until he can win the big games while playing at his highest level there will and should be questions. And please, last night he was junk, even he admitted it and he had one good drive. Don't **** in my hand and tell me its ice cream. After his one TD drive he went back to happy feet check down Matt. Even when we needed to drive the field with under a minute left he was double clutching on longer throws opting to complete 6 yard passes...Like really? Your not going to 6 yard pass your way down the field from our 15 with 45 seconds left. At some point you need to take a shot. You're scared to throw a pick?? The game is over if you don't try dude, you've gotta take a shot at some point.

The biggest concern I have moving forward is can Nichols win the big game? Its fine and dandy to light up garbage teams in week 5 but when has he performed the same way in big games? Banjo bowl meltdown, zero playoff wins other than a performance to forget in barely eeking out the win in sask last year against a backup QB, and now last nights first place showdown shitshow. Im really starting to wonder if he has the mental toughness to block out all the distractions and just perform. This to me is a huge concern.

It's also only 1 ******* loss. They weren't going to win them all. Even WITH Streveler as qb. People need to pull their heads out of there asses.

Six turnovers. Three of them by one player. It's not headhunting. It's facts. Period.

The one thing I did notice today is that tsn wasn’t scanning the crowd tonight. What no good looking women in the hammer?

The special teams constantly went 2 and out?? Part of this loss is on O'Shea for sticking by Nichols. He was clearly off tonight, and with the OLine struggling, why not put your more mobile QB in rather than let Nichols continue to take big hits?? Streveler could have at least extended plays by rolling out and allowing receivers time to get open downfield. Was worth a try, that's for sure!

Defense did all we could ask of them tonight. Unless you're expecting nonstop turnovers, holding the Cats to FGs after we kept giving them great field position is as good as it gets.

A little disconcerting that our offense has looked bad both times we've played a good team.

Can't argue with the result tonight. Nichols was awful, the special teams gave up the ball and free points too often, and Hamilton BARELY did enough with those gifts to win the game.

He had one good drive , then they ran it in from 1 yard, then he had a 15 yard loss and injured himself. WTF are you talking about?

Hamilton also effectively eliminated the threat of Lucky with good positional play, there were no unguarded corners for him to turn on sweeps or returns, they were always waiting for him.

Lapo has a few games a year when he suffers from Smartest Man in the Room Syndrome.

Please give some credit to the TiCat D for playing a great game, you also need to account for missing 3 top receivers, Adams , Woli, and Matthews, that is a lot of size that was not available when needed on a windy day in Hamilton.

It's not about whether or not Streveler is ready....it's about having confidence in your starter, who's been arguably the best QB in the league so far this year. You give him the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to work his way out of it.

The Ti-Cats were way more physical than we were tonight. The Ti-Cats D knows how to play against Lapo and Nichols. They played a solid game, so hats off to them. We all know Nichols had a bad game tonight, but I don't think the receivers really helped him out. There were a few times it looked like guys were running the same routes, maybe because of the injuries. We've got work to do. We got smacked in the mouth, let's see how we respond.
