  1. I got a look at the end zone camera of the Grant return this morning. The flag was thrown on Jesse Briggs' block (not sure how it became #10 when announced). I can see why the official threw the flag at the time. Obviously very pleased that they overturned the call.

  2. Notable achievements: 1) be responsible for the CFL implementing a coaches salary cap 2) having the CFL's first stash house for extra players 3) quitting the riders a week after signing an extension 4) quitting his "dream job" with his high school alma mater after 1 game.

  3. Chris Jones and his ego is the problem. He's very Mike Kelly'ish. Always the smartest man in the room and no one is going to tell them different. Putting WR's at DB and all the other nonsense he's been known for. Having all his eggs in the Corny basket is going to cost him his job. Its almost like he's too American/NFL for the CFL. The whole "a QB has to be atleast 6'5" and possess a rocket arm" NFL bias garbage that has prevented a lot of great QB's from ever really getting a chance. I really hope its the last we see of that arrogant goof when he gets canned.

  5. Its almost like...with five very good and capable receivers and only one football, that there may be some weeks where a receiver has an amazing statline or two consecutively, and may have a mediocre statline or two consecutively. I mean really, what are we doing here? Lol. Two weeks over 40 points and we're crapping on some of our receivers stats after two games. This fan base sometimes, Jesus Christ lol.

  9. Pretty bad when your franchise QB is described by the announcers as "still in this game."

  10. They'll find the money to pay him. Problem for another time, but lots of guys coming to the end of their playing days who won't cost as much to replace. Lots of money on the injured list too, guys that potentially aren't going to ever fully return or who we won't need past this season.

  11. yes reminds me of 2013 in Winnipeg. Before the mafia took over. Man was that bleak.

  12. I'm thinking Jones has 2 games to turn things around otherwise he's getting canned. Getting blanked is embarrassing. Corny is awful what a mistake.

  13. Stopped watching after the 3rd quarter. Edmonton kept on fumbling away any opportunities they may have had. Cornelius looks cooked. BC is a strong team but I still think we're quite a bit better.

  18. That's where the bar is for the bombers. If it's not a blowout the entire game then the other team did well. christ the riders D never stopped our O, gave up 45 points and were never in a position in the 4th quarter where they looked like they were going to win,... and that's a bomber problem? This team hasn't blown many many teams out of the water over the past few seasons, what makes them a good team is that they don't give up, they keep going and going and going and generally make less mistakes than their opponents and grind out wins. Tons of teams play close against Winnipeg, not many actually win because of the previously mentioned reasons. Harris started feeling the hits and his accuracy went away as the game wore on. I read somewhere that Dicklesson was bemoaning some fatigue issues in the 4th quarter. Another reason the bombers do well. they don't fall off as the game goes on. In summary riders got thumped even if the Bombers D played a pretty poor game. Hamilton got thumped even though the bombers made some stupid mistakes costing them points. See how BC and their bestever, OMG so good D does this week.

  19. People who don’t like what Agudosi or Bailey are doing so far this year don’t know what Agudosi or Bailey are supposed to be doing. Agudosi is an over the top, jump ball receiver. Red zone target. Done fine in both of those aspects so far. Bailey is a chain moving, gritty TE in a WR body type dude who is going to make the tough catches, move the sticks and lay some blocks. Done fine in all of those aspects so far. We don’t need 5 Schoen types or 5 Lawler types. We have those guys, we have Demski and we have the rest playing their roles.

  20. U can't put up yards if not targeted...and even when not targeted you have a role in the other plays for the other guys to get the yardage...it's a good thing our receivers don't care and are all in on the plan. Agudosi's non catch on that PI would been a helluva catch...I won't fault him on that When Lawler is back..Agudosi is likely the first man up come any injury...Don't see a roster shuffle..Augudosi out..Lawler in ..plain and simple The bigger question is when Jeffcoat...Wilson...Rose and Parker are ready..what we gonna do? Hansen is easy as it means Mauro sits...

  21. I should have prefaced my comment by saying I'm not trying to discourage discussion, but the very obvious lack of understanding of basic football on the part of some is just baffling. There's ONE football to go around, we need to run the ball as well, nevermind the time spent on defence too. We're not going to have four or five 1,000 yard receivers. This isn't Madden. Oh. And Kenny Lawler is coming back eventually too. Here's the reality: There's going to be a very good receiver on our roster that maybe has in the neighbourhood of 500-700 yards this season - and that doesn't mean whatsoever that they had a bad year. There's just only so much opportunity to be had with as many mouths to feed that we have.

  22. Flow of game and gameplan dictates...we seen that last yr Same with Agudosi...he hadn't really been targeted yet but when has been is making plays...plus he gets removed a lot from other sets we use....we fine

  24. LOLKs need a QB so badly. How on earth they weren't in on one of the available FAs this offseason and went all in on Corny....?? Going all in on Corny is almost as bad as going all in on Faj....

  26. And the fact that Schoen is constantly loose means that teams can't really bracket him because they know the next guy will tear them apart too. Only becomes an issue if or when we need to get an American back on the roster. IMO you'd sit down Agudosi and get BOLO out there. Bailey is a much more useful receiver, Agudosi is kind of a luxury. Probably put Murphy on for Szott for depth.

  28. And of course the cheapskate owner who doesn't care if the Stamps even exist let him walk just like Jameer Thurman. You get owners like Amar Doamn really trying to make the Lions relevant in the Lower Mainland once again. And you get an owner like Murray Edwards in Calgary who use the Stamps financial losses as a tax write off for his billions. That's all he cares about. The man is killing the fanbase. The Stamps desperately need a new stadium & a new owner who actually cares.

    Fathers' Day Thoughts

In my practice, I sometimes see the results of boys and girls who grew up without a Dad. I say "dad" not "father" because they are quite different, and children who grow up without a father-figure (dad) are behaviourally and cognitively different that those who grow up with a dad in their lives. So, for what its worth, here are a few questions to ask your dad or perhaps might suggest to your offspring to ask you. The discussion can be uncomfortable and intimate but well worth doing, in my opinion. If your father is still in your life, consider broaching one of the topics below during your next phone call or weekend at home to gain some insight into the person he is: 1. As a kid, what did you think you wanted to do for a living? 2. In hindsight, is there a time you didn’t stand up for someone or something (a person, a cause) but wish you did? Why didn’t you at the time? 3. How has your idea of what it means to be a man changed over the span of your life? 4. What’s one thing your mom or dad always used to tell you growing up that turned out to be true? 5. What were some of your biggest insecurities when you were in high school? 6. Are you where you thought you’d be at this point in your life? 7. What was the first time you remember really getting your feelings hurt? By whom and what happened? 8. Who was the first person you said “I love you” to in a romantic context? Did he or she say it back? 9. (If your parents got married): What was the moment you realized you wanted to marry Mom or Dad? 10. If you could have dinner with three famous people, living or dead, who would they be? 11. What did a typical Friday night look like for you at age 17? 12. Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but never got the chance? 13. When do you feel the happiest? 14. What’s one underrated but important skill a person should possess? 15. What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? 16. What has been your favorite age so far and why? 17. How do you want to be remembered?

  32. But nobody worried about us... Nobody worried about the league because we were down. Everybody loved it, at worst, and at best, didn't care. I'm not gonna sit here and feel sorry for anyone, least of all Chris Jones and the LOLks.

  33. The end zone cam (I don't remember it on the broadcast, but we were live at the same time) shows clearly the Briggs block and the side official throwing the flag right at it. When I think of what it would've looked like from field level at 100 miles an hour, it probably did look like it was from the back. What's the side and what's the back...there's a fine margin there.

  49. I know it's early in the season but something tells me Dillon Mitchell is not going to reach his goal of 2000 receiving yards. Game 1 - 1 catch for -5 yards Game 2 - 2 catches for 1 yard so far. Not putting the blame on him, Corny is absolutely terrible.
