  1. Hate it. Status quo is exactly the opposite of what this regime needs to be doing.

  3. sigh.... I'm as big a fan of Jake's as anyone..... appreciate everything he's accomplished.....but man, couldn't this money have been spent on Mason Bennett?

  4. I wouldnt want him..o.ne trick pony and easy to neutralize him...and he wants big cash I'd rather do a 1 yr on Oakman, or snag Hendrix for multi yr deal. both will come in at prob half of what Betts will get

  6. Just wanted to chime in RE: Brady O, dude wants to get paid. Hope he sticks with us but especially as a RB and being the CFL... you only get so many years. It sucks, but I understand it.

  7. If it's a reasonable salary and he's backing up Lawson then I'm fine with it. He's still a decent Canadian player

  8. I get what you're saying. I'm going to disagree because it seems like we're going to be seeing quite a shift in the roster this year. We are going to see some vets either walk away of be moved on form and we're going to see a lot of younger guys (or FAs) come in to replace those guys. The shift is happening. So having Jake in the room at a lower salary. I don't think that's going to get in anyone's way. He'll have his leadership/locker room vet hat on. MOS will undoubtedly use him to to talk about the way things used to be and how far we've come. His NAT status keeps him out of the way of any young import we may have coming in, and Lawson has already assumed the mantle of the other starter. Thomas has nothing to do with us reaching out to the Canadian DE's like Bennett and Kongbo.

  10. Yup. This isn’t looking like a great idea. Jake was done 2 seasons ago.

  13. Strev would have been both a MASSIVE add for them on the field and for their culture. I am sure glad he came home. He is going to have our guys fired up. Easily the best 120k we've spent in FA in a long time.

  15. Those are some really nice numbers especially if he was rotating.

  16. Curious what people think about Brandon Barlow at DE. 26, with the Argos last year had 30 tackles and 9 sacks while rotating. Could he be a younger, cheaper option at DE over Jeffcoat?

  18. wont be league minimum tho....and he still blocks and takes reps away from a new guy with upside...a young guy we draft...and really...is he gonna be a key fixture next yr when it really matters?....I am sure some these signings are Osh encouraging it to Walters...Just waiting for the Jackson extended for 3 yrs announcement....

Also getting a month more of the player than aquaring at the deadline. Just happy they got a guy who can win a draw.

My cannot miss event of the summer #3 (alongside Burt BlocK Party and Banjo Bowl) https://greatoutdoorscomedyfestival.com/gocf-winnipeg-manitoba/ 3 night event this July... Tom Segura, Bill Burr, Nate Bargatze headlining... Bobby Lee, Gerry Dee, Jessica Kirson supporting... Outside on the Lyric lawn at Ass Park... on sale now... If I only go VIP for on one night I'm thinking VIP Friday, general admission Saturday... as much as I love Ol' Billy Redface I'm an even bigger Tommy Bunz fan and I'm exactly immature enough to be entertained by Bobby Lee.

  29. That's an uninspired re-signing (and I like Jake) Based on our current roster make-up I guess we *need* a backup Canadian DT but he's a vet we should be moving on from.

  31. Those 90-94 jerseys are the all time best imo. My holy grail is a 92 one with the Canada 125 patch.

  32. yup....solid GM'ng there...Pay a slug like Lanier as the highest paid defender in league...watch him fail at that...and do it again this yr....excellent SMS allocation...he's decent...tho is injury prone...lacks commitment and definitely shouldn't be paid as the top guy, but guess thats what you have to do when your squad isn't the desired location...partly due to his poor GM skills and what they created there...not to mention it's Saskatchewan Not resigning their QB with prob most upside and giving them the best chance to win with an actual O.C....another solid move....Keep the hits coming!

  33. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/ according to that FBs make more money than RBs. Idk if it’s accurate or not. Beat me by seconds haha. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10076678-what-is-the-going-contract-rate-for-every-position-in-todays-nfl.amp.html not a lot of reputable sites for this that I know of.

  35. Tbh you could take and one of their front 6. They scout develop and deploy soo damn well on the front. Not shabby with dbs either but I feel like they more so hit on dbs. They are a mill churning out good front 6 guys.

  36. I read somewhere that the only position group in the NFL that earns less than RB is long snapper.

  37. Interesting that he played two g and T spots. Looks like he’s a guard by nature though. But a big ass guard. I actually prefer shorter stocky interior ol. I think being tall makes it tougher in the cfl. looks like the pats brought him to convert him to T long term. Guy played a crazy amount of snap with out giving up a sack, even for a guard. 500 in one year with no sacks allowed and went 900 snaps with no penalties against. Played with a mild pain near his stomach. Then a couple days later he had ruptured his appendix and played through it, and lived with it. Then didn’t want to have the surgery till after the season and wanted to miss no games lol. Tough business. And he played against some monster nfl prospects. Not hard to see what they like about him.

  40. I can't see us letting a talent like Schoen go without throwing a very big number at him to stay. Guys like Schoen don't come around often. He is a legit top of the league receiver that has barely scratched the surface of his career. He is a unicorn when it comes to replacing him and what he brings to an offence.

  41. Poached from the Canadian Press: "It was kind of one of those things where I wasn't getting a ton of real looks anymore," Streveler told reporters Thursday during a video conference. "I've been home since August . . . I've been training waiting for a call for 18 weeks and it just got to the point where I was kind of tired of playing that game. "Everyone knows how much respect I have for this (CFL) game and the players up north and, of course, my love for Winnipeg. It was dry on the NFL side and I was like, 'Let's do it.' I just want to play ball and fortunately was able to get the opportunity here. I'm beyond excited about it." I enjoy that last sentence.
