On Offence - O line same as last week with Foketi at RT - Simonise got Adams' reps; - LaFrance got Harris' reps; - Washington got all reps with 1st team...Lankford didn't get any with first team while I was there....leads me to believe that if either Adams or Dressler can't go...Washington draws in with Lankford off the game day roster; - My sense is that Adam's will be good to go...while Simonise took Adams' scrimmage reps...they didn't have him taking part in 1st team offence drills while punt team was scrimmaging...he and the other reserve receivers were tending to their scout team duties on punt coverage... - Dressler's participation in practise was similar to the past two weeks...helping out LaPo with drills...not sure he draws in... - Nichols threw a bad pick to Priester (playing the scout team) - Streveler moved the ball well against 1st team D hitting a home run deep shot to Lankford over Fogg... On D - Bryant got 1 team reps at tackle - D Line was Roh, Bryant, Nevis, Okpalaugo (Thomas rotating in...didn't see Poop Johnson rotating in) - Secondary was the same as last week - Fenner in at SAM for Leggett - Gaitor came in on some packages as extra DB...didn't see Cooper coming on as extra DB - Randle subbed himself out intermittently with Priester coming on...doesn't look serious Based on how they practised today, it appears as one lineup change will be Washington on for Lankford (Dressler was on the game day roster last week); another will be Jeffcoat coming off...not sure who comes on in place of Jeffcoat...maybe Gaitor Fenner and Wild were on punt team...leading me to believe they'll continue to be on the roster as DI's...not sure if an extra DB like Gaitor will come on...if so...the other DI will likely be a choice between Poop Johnson and the extra DB. Based on the way they practised...it doesn't look like they're too concerned that Leggett won't be ready to go...I based this on the fact they kept Fenner on punt team...not likely that they would have him on punt and kick team and starting SAM... They still have one full practise day left...plenty of time to change up D and ST if Legget can't go FWIW...the team looked very loose...not especially as sharp as I've seen them in past practises...but that's a subjective opinion...others who attended may feel differently9 points -
Heard Bennett is taking all the 1st team snaps. Too bad about Bighill's injury. Probably won't play. I like the new fake punt they're working on. Medlock has a good enough arm to pull it off. If Bryant's knee injury doesn't heal, I wonder who they will start at LT? I like all the play action stuff with Harris. I bet the Riders fall for it every time and try to prevent the run.7 points

Why is the draft not as strong as it once was? We got depth on the OL, depth at receiver, enough Canadians scattered on the D, good special teams guys and he's sitting on 2 first round draft picks this year... Durant was a douchebag, not Walters fault, Bond hasn't been missed and neither has bowman or Heath. So what's the issue? I'd say it's premature because we're talking about this **** when we are sitting at .500 on the season after back to back double digit win seasons. Like seriously people this is insanity. Do we not remember how shitty it was going from Ritchie to Daley? Or Berry to Kelly? Hell even Lapo to Burke was a **** show. Don't **** with things now, it is the complete wrong time to do it.7 points -

The voice of reason! We’re 28-18 in the past two seasons plus this season and we’re acting like the sky is falling. Good teams go through adversity. Remember Ottawa and Toronto getting hot when it counted and winning the Grey Cup? I do. It’s ok to have high expectations and wanting to be better but I wouldn’t panic just yet.7 points -

That’s a little backwards from reality. The D has done a good job of getting off the field and even turning the ball over on the other teams side of the field in the first half of the last two games which were terrible losses. Ottawa game fell apart late in the second quarter when offense continuously couldn’t get a first down and kept sending the D out and pretty much the same situation I’m Calgary just in the second half. I mean both games they handed the offense the ball at basically midfield off a turnover, 8-7 game vs Ottawa, believe it was 9-3 in Calgary and out of those possessions we got a FG in Calgary. Those need to be TDs if we expect to beat good teams. The offense is barely moving and rarely scoring touchdowns until the game is over. This game is offense, it’s basically illegal to play D outside of rushing the passer which is something our team is not very consistently good at, and even then you’re likely to take a penalty for how the QB gets tackled. That win streak against the East was all D, Harris and Demski.4 points -

Except they haven't struggled the last few seasons.... over .500 and winning as much as anyone not named calgary... unless this is a case of "if you're not first, you're last" Cause to me those rookies turned the franchise around and put it on pretty stable ground, to the point where .500 is unacceptable.4 points -
👁🗨Whoa..it’s been a long week..crying, denying, accusations, call outs and apologies. And that’s just been in my house..😮 CFL.ca CFL Game #52 Team Notes – Montréal at Ottawa: - 303 yards passing / 2 TDs same game: Last week Antonio Pipkin led Montreal to their 25-22 win becoming the first Montreal QB to EVER throw for 300+ yards and score 2 TDs in the same game across their entire history (Sam Etcheverry never scored more than 1 TD in a game). It was the first 300-yard passing effort by an Als' QB since Darian Durant had 300+ exactly one year ago (316 vs WPG on Aug 24/17). Pipkin was 22-of-32 for 303 yards including 7-for-8 for 101 yards in the 4th Quarter. Pipkin was the first Montreal QB to score 2 TDs in a game since Sep 7/14 (Tanner Marsh). - Last week's win vs Toronto: The Alouettes played their best game of the season in a critical home contest vs the Argos. Montreal snapped a club record 9-game HOME losing streak, the last 8 of which they had lost by an average margin of 25.9 points per game. Their win over Toronto was built around their first 300-yard passing effort of 2018 and a season-high 22 first downs. - A win on the road: The Alouettes look to turn around a road run that has seen them go 1-12 in their last 13 away from Montreal. They are 1-4 this year with a win in Regina but have not won an East Division away game since Nov 5/16 at Hamilton. They come in with 5-game East Division road losing streak. Two with 100+ Tackles?: The Alouettes have the Top 2 tacklers in the CFL this year with both Henoc Muamba and Chris Ackie at 64 on pace for 115 by season's end. NO CFL team has EVER had the Top 2 tacklers in the same season since the league started recording this game data in 1989. BC in 2016 (Elimimian & Bighill) is the only team to ever have two 100+ tacklers in one season. And as a final note, Branden Dozier's pace (97) is also near 100 which could potentially make three Alouettes over the century mark. - Trevor Harris 1,229 yards: Has led the REDBLACKS to 4 wins in their last 5 games and will be making career start #52 (27-22-2). Harris' 3-game passing yardage total of 1,229 yards (381, 487, 361) is the most by any CFL QBG since 2015 (Henry Burris 1,294 in a 3- game span) and second-highest since Anthony Calvillo's 1,242 yards in September 2003. Harris' career record vs Montreal is his best against any opponent with 7 victories and just one loss. Of his 25 career 300+ yard games, 5 have come against the Alouettes. Harris leads the CFL in completion % at 69.6%. Richie Leone: Has a unique streak of 4 games in a row with a punt that has pinned the opposition inside their own 10-yard line. Over his last two games his NET punt average is 43.2 yards and he now leads the CFL in that critical measure. - 76 players / 54 starters: Last year Montreal used a club record 83 players. This year just beyond half-way, they are already at 76 players who have played at least one game. They have had 54 different starters in 10 games. - A.C. Leonard 4 in a row: Has a current streak of 4 consecutive games with a QB Sack. That matches the longest streak by any REDBLACKS player tying Justin Capicciotti's 4-game run of Aug 23/15 - Sep 19/15. - John Bowman: Recorded his second Sack of the season last week and now has 123, just 3 behind Stewart Hill who ranks #7 all-time with 126. Bowman recorded his 200th career start last week. - William Powell 4 100's: Comes into this game riding back-to-back 100-yard rushing efforts and has 4 for the season - as many as he had all last year and a career-high. The last Ottawa player to have 5 games of 100+ yards in a season was Josh Ranek in 2003. Lewis Ward 96%: Ward began his career with a 3-for-4 FG performance in the season opener and since then has not missed a FG attempt (though he did miss one conversion). Ward is now 27-for-28 96.4% with a streak of 24 makes in a row, the longest streak ever made by a 1st Year player - his 24 straight has included 7 from 40+ yards. Last week's comeback: Montreal was able to overcome a 6-point deficit last week vs Toronto and post their first comeback victory since Jul 14/17 vs Calgary, a span of 24 games. - 36 points per game: Ottawa has rolled up point totals of 41, 24 and 44 points including 12 TD drives in just 41 total possessions. Their TD drive % has been 21% over those 3 contests compared to just 10% (9 TDs on 89 drives) over the first 6 games. - Way Out in Front - 61 to 28: The REDBLACKS have built some very large leads of late in winning 4 of 5. In their last 4 games they have pulled out to leads of 10, 24, 7 and 24 points and outscored the opposition by a combined 61-28 in the 1st half. Brad Sinopoli 126?: Was held to just 3 catches last game stopping his streak of 4 or more at 9 games. However, he remains on pace for 126 receptions which would tie Allen Pitts #2 all-time mark from 1994. - Greg Ellingson: Went six games without going over 100 yards but now has back-to-back games with 110 and 100 in the last two. For his career he has 5,592 yards in 83 games, an average of 67.4 yards per game which ranks #21 all-time in CFL history. With 19 catches in his last 2 games he is at 100 reception pace which would be a career best. - William Stanback: Stepped in for an injured Tyrell Sutton last week and gained 53 yards on the ground. He has now run the ball 16 times averaging 6.8 yards per carry in his limited opportunities as the #1 run option for Montreal. Bomber update vs Sask Pts allowed per game avg SSK 223 24.8 5th WPG 253 25.3 6th Pts per game..avg Wpg 31.5 1st Sack 23.9 6th Net offence Wpg 369.3 5th Sask 314.8 7th Opp net offence Sask 310.6. 2nd Wpg 360.7. 6th Winnipeg has a whopping 221 first downs (2nd) vs Sask. 145 (9th), but Sask is 3rd in allowing first downs - 45 ahead of Wpg’s 207 (7th) Sacks allowed - Sask 12 (1st) Wpg (15) tied for 2nd Sacks made - Sask 23 T1st Wpg 22 3rd3 points

Bombers are 3rd in the CFL with 22 sacks. SK & Edm are tied for first with 23 each. I think expecting the DL to generate more sacks is unrealistic. In Terms of giving up sacks, The best teams are Riders 12, Stamps 15, & Bombers 15.3 points

I like the way they made absolutely sure the OL was solid. When they didn't have a Canadian for left guard, the used an American (Bond) who was the best guard in the CFL, and made the ratio work elsewhere.2 points

this is spot on.... the D can only be expected to do so much, and when they're being trotted out there after only a few minutes of rest because of 'ANOTHER WINNIPEG.... 2 AND OUT!' they're eventually going to wear down. The secondary has been pretty bad, and I really think there needs to be a change in scheme if these 400+ yard games continue. The Richie Hall bend but don't break seems to do okay when the D gets rest... but there's gotta be some tweaks they can make (possibly adding personel) to this secondary. They're going to get torched the second half of the season with the QBs were going to be playing.2 points -

Walters isn't perfect, but, overall he's not the problem (I know, we can't find American receivers ...). He's upgraded the overall talent of this team in his time. The other area I have to give Walters credit for is he's pretty good about taking decisive action when things aren't working out. Trading Willy, Bowman, cutting Ekakitie (which took some stones to admit you messed up a first overall pick). The Hall love-in confuses me, but, I think that bodes well for future moves that need to happen, depending on the rest of the year.1 point -

Definitely the offense two and outs hurt the defense. But, I’m not quite getting the Bombers version of the bend-don’t-break defense. Usually that’s some variation of a Cover 2 defense, where you shouldn’t get burned deep, but the middle of the field 10 – 15 yards is vulnerable. But, to address that vulnerable area, shouldn’t your middle linebacker be dropping back in that zone? Or safety stepping up? Our scheme seems like Bighill often plays in the box or close to. And Loffler is awol. Bighill is super talented and can drop into coverage. He’s the anti-Hurl. Use him better Coach Hall!1 point -

On the surface, this year's matchup reminds me of the first Labour Day Classic I attended, in 2004. The Bombers won and then won the inaugural "Banjo Bowl" the following week and, call me crazy, I think they can sweep this year too. I'm feeling pretty discouraged right now, like most Bomber fans, but I think if they can limit turnovers on offence they can score enough points to get by, even against an impressive Rider D. I have not been at all impressed by the Rider O this year and I think it's an opportunity for the Bomber D to bounce back. Yes, I'm an optimist. Can't help it. I just hope I'm right! If I hear some Rider fans chanting "We're number 4!" in the stands next week, as thay did at that first LDC I was at, I'll be extremely happy.1 point -

You keep saying that, but you of course understand why people are skeptical and don't believe you. Despite claiming to be a Bomber fan for 40 years, you first sign up to the site during the Vegas series, first with a Vegas avatar and now a knight avatar. What a coincidence that in the 5 years this site has been running you magically found it during the Vegas / Jets series. Also of all your posts. 2 (7.5%), have been in the Bomber section, referencing of all things, Dominique Davis (the 2nd post was of course to clarify that the first post was only a joke). The rest have been about Jets / Vegas. Not even a peep from you on the big Adam Bighill news today. Actions speak louder then words. You certainly don't even need to be a Bomber fan to post here. Just don't lie about it and make ridiculous posts disguising ignorance as trolling. There are examples of fans who post here who are fans from other teams than what the majority support, you could take a lesson from them.1 point
