  1. Just letting everyone know I am alright.... Ha ha. At 22 down, I was cold and soaked from the rain, and was considering heading out and getting to my hotel an hour east of town. Coorsman talked me into staying and, in the end, I'm glad I did. To be able to see that Lawler catch in person is something special...

  2. Pretty sure Holm pointed at Booch through the TV there....

  3. Dru Brown played a lot like ZC with young legs. Always on the attack. Talked about how ZC coached him to trust the receivers to get open even if they don't appear to be. Love to see it.

  4. I'm sure the comments from the start of this thread will be calm, rational, and well thought out - But that will be reading for tomorrow morning. For now? Time for a beer. Two points and onto the next.

  6. Interesting and encouraging part is this team never wavered....panicked or pressed which generally results in unforced errors....went back to what works...and took over A point to be proud of too, is the fact they were getting bent over on calls, as well as some cheap chippyness and never squawked and whined...didn't even show negative body language in reaction to it....didn't take retaliation style selfish penalties....just kept grinding and took the game over....thats why we win more often than lose....the team plays for each other The funny part to see tho was the Elks yukking it up...prancing and dancing....being smug figuring they had it in the bag and then watch the change as the game slipped away

  7. 1. Dru Brown. Came into the game like he was Randy Marsh carrying around some wheelbarrow balls. IYKYK. 2. Brady O. On pace for 1,400 yards. Aside from the rough start he had in his first full year as a starter in the first half of that season, Brady has been beyond fantastic. He proves Walters and Co right every game when it comes to whether or not the team was right in moving on from Andrew Harris. 3. The team demeanor. Throughout all of the camera shots of the benches, one thing was very telling. Who was the veteran, disciplined team and who wasn't. Was 22-0 fun? Nope. But the bench wasn't panicking or having a temper tantrum. The Elks bench meanwhile was on cloud nine. As the game turned, our demeanor remained the same meanwhile you saw more and more clips of Elks players and coaches losing their cool and having their emotions get the best of them. Never too high, never too low. One of the main things I love about our coaches and players. Trust the process and more often than not, we'll be on the winning side. HH: BOO. Absolutely loved him finding a spot to get open towards the sideline on the Randy Marsh...ahem...Dru Brown scramble drill. Really stepped up after Woli went down.

  8. Dru Brown is the first quarterback to come in relief wearing the number 6 and throw a pass to a receiver with a mouth guard that looks like a pacifier who caught the ball one handed.

  9. The key to watching any Bomber game is to find your zen. Don't know how to describe it, but it looks an awful lot like this:

  10. HH to all the fans in WPG that stayed up and kept the faith. The Mrs. packed it in after the pick 6, can't wait to tell her tomorrow.

  12. That it was unfortunate the Bombers hadn’t nationalized Bailey after Wolitarsky went out and he’d probably read about it this week on here.

  14. Brown was simply outstanding. On the hit on Collaros, I thought it was telling Milt and Matty thought there should have been a flag (former players) and Barker (not a former player) did not. Barker is an idiot.

  16. 1. Brown… no need to elaborate 2. Sheed, Brown clearly trusted him. He also threw some monster blocks. 3. The running game with Brady and Demski both. HH to Holm with the pick.

  17. 1 brown bomber 300 4tds in relief of the mop 2 Brady ran like a beast 3 Demski great mixed use game hh the holm pick crunch ba a bunch of big hits block Bailey looking for blood on the screen pass td awe what a dbag. The cheap shot on collaros. Honourable mentions to the long fg, the one handed stab by lawler, walker, and the ol Bailey too. Huge game from sheed

  18. This is the rule. He clearly lands on him with most of his weight. (#1). He hits him in the head. (#2). He had to dive onto Zach on the ground which means he didn't make an attempt to avoid the hit. (#3). Zach is out of the play at the time of the hit. (#4). Article 5 — Roughing The Passer Because the act of passing puts the passer in a particularly vulnerable position to injury, special rules against roughing the passer apply. Once the ball is released, defensive players must avoid all unnecessary contact with the passer. A player shall be penalized for any act of Unnecessary Roughness to the passer, including but not limited to: Contacting the passer in an unnecessary manner, including stuffing him to the ground, violently throwing him to the ground, and landing on him with most of the defender's weight, Any blow above the passer's shoulder, All rushing defenders must attempt to avoid forcibly hitting a passer in the pocket, at or below the knees, either if their path to the passer was unrestricted, or if they are coming off a blocker, Attacking the passer who, after releasing the ball, is either standing still or fading backwards and is obviously out of the play and remains out of the play, When the quarterback slides feet first, all unnecessary contact must be avoided. The slide must be done in a timely manner to allow the defence to avoid such contact. Contacting the passer if either the initial source of contact, or primary source of contact, is the defender's helmet.

    Castillo vs Liegghio

Castillo Castillo is #5 at +4.5 points to expected. Liegghio is #9 at -0.9 points to expected. Three missed converts and his average attempt for 29 yards is dragging him down.

  20. I'm with you. Houston's execution was poor but the call was boneheaded.

  21. TBH - Brown's play looked largely like Buck didn't really change much in the playbook when the QB swapped... and Brown was so composed... eye's downfield, multiple reads, Definitely not pulling the ball early and running.

  22. 1. Dru Brown - there's ice in those California veins 2. Stanley Bryant. OL was solid & he has been back to his dominant self, of late 3. Lawler - the catch that killed the Elks - no tag required HH: O'Leary Orange - seemed to help Brown settle in - early on Crunch: the secondary as a whole

  23. Just watched the replay. I dont understand how, in a league where they are trying to eliminate head shots and QB injuries, that isn't a flag on Collaros.

  28. I guess with Brown thats what you get when you let a guy sit for two years and let him learn the position. Wonder how many young QB's in this league get ruined because they are rushed in there with limited to no experience.

  32. Crum started that game. **** I don't even know how you got into a tailspin about Bomber legend when the comparison is Brown vs Streveler as passers. Brown's thrown for over 300 yards in both games he's played the majority. Came off the bench in game 1 last year when Collaros got pulled by concussion spotter and led drive for winning FG. Came off the bench last week for 80 yard TD drive. Guy has only produced.

  34. Not sure if this has been talked about... But did anyone else hate the call by Richie Hall to blitz everyone when the Elks were still in their own end? We have all of the momentum. We seemingly have Tre Ford figured out. And then you call something risky like that? Bleh. Got them to 29 points

  38. That hit on Collaros very reminiscent of Philion on Khari in 2000 playoffs...but 23 years later needs to be a call no question.

  41. Brown looks a lot more comfortable in the pocket tonight than Collaros did early in this one. Collaros scrambled into pressure a couple times including that mess he got into the last play.
