  1. This is the day when we get our hopes up that some reinforcements are coming. Tomorrow, when they clear waivers but are signed to the PRs, we get sad again.

  4. we may have clinched to...3..4..5 weeks from end of year..so would be tons of opportunity....plus....even before with Collaros....he ran short yardage, as well as stayed in for extending the drive....as well as within the 10 yard line a lot of times he ran the offence....and I know u keep going back to the gimmick thing....but he would be on field a lot also....he would take 2..3 weeks to be a viable starter elsewhere as would be a whole new playbook...all new teammates here he has familiarity, a similar play book and would be so easy to integrate some of what we ran before he left...also...the Dude I'm sure just wants to be part of something, and do whatever is asked....he has stated that....so why not do it from where u know and love?...theres no team right now that can throw buckets of cash at him moreso than us...and u know Walters has $$ kicking around...been running things for 9 yrs...always has...so this yr is no diff

  5. Lol not at all the point. Good riddance to a weak owner who couldn't handle the first sign of turbulence. More owners like Doman, less like Stern. Thanks for trying though 👍👍

  6. And that’s why the Jets are the Jets and haven’t won anything in 60 years. He’s the only QB this pre season for the Jets do something. What’s the point of keeping a 38 year old Flacco around as your back up? You’re not going to win much this year anyways, might as well see what these young guys can do if Zach Wilson is injured.

  7. Kongbo's been cut....wonder if he gets a PR call...or a look elsewhere.....huge pickup for us if we can get him back

  8. I like Streveler but man oh man, I am hoping that Desjarlais comes back to us.

  9. not a gimmick...he is not supplanting ZC unless he is hurt....but if he was to sign...you use him where and how you can....I stand firm in Lapo basically neutering and basically almost ruining him here....So use him as short yardage/change of pace...2 QB sets and whatever else the team see's him doing well....and god forbid if ZC goes down for the Yr...I'd feel much better rolling into playoffs with Strev than anything we have on roster right now

  10. Over at Riderfans, there is a majority of posters who want Marino gone, or at least would be OK with that, but the Marino defenders are pretty much foaming at the mouth and citing Andrew Harris's suspension over the failed drug test as an example of how teams mollycoddle problematic players. Not sure how to equate the two, but there you have it.

  12. I don’t think Alford has just made the team, I think he might start at nickle corner. Falcons are *high* on him. Good for him, and good for McManus for unearthing him.

I have experienced threats along those lines.... I was intimidated, and frightened. it is long past Time to stop pretending that that physical intimidation is just the exercise of the right to protest. But Im not sure the rcmp will do much. unless told to. if a man did to his wife, it would be an instant, automatic, restraining order. why is this less serious.

  14. yup...that would totally solidify and re-enforce our lines

  15. Brandin Bryant has been set loose by the Bills as well.....I doubt he has much if any PR eligibility left...now threes a real nice replacement for Stove...and would really shore p the defense...get er done Walters

  17. Why would he want to be here???Because he won a Cup here loved the atmosphere ....AND mostly because the team had faith in him....BIGTIME....Unlike the US of A

  18. When/if he does come back up here there is virtually zero chance he signs with us. The current QB situation in the CFL is atrocious. Theres atleast 3-4 teams that he could start for. Do you want to come back and make peanuts backing up Collaros or make starter money in Edmonton, Ottawa etc?

  19. I bet BC is closer to the cap than a lot of people think. They have a lot of money tied up in the Rec. and their defensive back field. Rourke on the 6 game isn't saving them much as he was making under 100k I believe. Honestly his BEST option in terms of playing/being paid might be SSK (assuming Cody is 6 gamed) or Hamilton.

  20. Maybe but his his window to make NFL $$$ is quickly closing. He'll always be able to come back up here. Gotta strike while the irons hot. People have short memories and there isnt going to be much demand for a soon to be 28 year old journeyman QB with 25 career regular season pass attempts. IMO he spends the rest of this CFL season looking for work down south.

Watching the Ukraine news very closely now .... they have been planning/announcing this counterattack for a long time and have no element of surprise. Not ideal conditions to attack under. Hopefully the Russian supply crunch on the west bank of the Dnipro is as decisive as forecast. Good luck and godspeed to the blue and gold.

  27. Aside from fulfilling the wishes of the Streveler worshippers, why in the world would his best CFL option be Winnipeg? So he could sit on the bench doing nothing while Collaros gets every game rep? BC needs a QB right now, Edmonton would easily upgrade with him there, as would Ottawa, and Hamilton and even Saskatchewan might take a look. About the only teams not looking for a QB upgrade are Winnipeg and Calgary. Toronto and Montreal likely to run with what they have now but he would be competitive there. Streveler will do what’s best for him, not what Bomber fans want him to do for them. Don’t see him coming here at all if he is looking to play. And If he just wants to sit and wait for the next NFL gig, he would be better served sniffing around there rather than tying himself to a CFL contract until November.

    The Environment Thread

A melting glacier, an imperiled city and one farmer’s fight for climate justice A Peruvian farmer is suing one of Europe’s biggest emitters. The case could set a precedent for holding polluters accountable for harm to the planet. Story by Sarah Kaplan Photos by Angela Ponce for the Washington Post Videos by Kevin Ylan Zacarias Zumaeta Aug. 28 at 9:00 a.m. "THE CORDILLERA BLANCA, Peru — Once, this was where Saúl Luciano Lliuya came to find peace. The mountain’s pristine beauty ensured his livelihood as a guide; its steady stream of fresh water sustained his family farm. The everlasting ice that gleamed from its rugged crest spoke of a world in balance. But on this May morning, Luciano Lliuya surveyed Nevado Palcaraju with his eyes narrowed, his forehead creased. The glacier was almost gone, transformed by rising temperatures from solid ice into a large, unstable lagoon. At any moment, an avalanche or rockslide could cause the turquoise meltwater to surge over its banks, hurtle down the mountainside and deluge the city of Huaraz, where he and some 120,000 others lived." (gift article https://wapo.st/3KzwNYQ ) Potentially huge implications from this case and others like it.

  29. and Harris was one of the most tested guy on the Bombers for 2 yrs leading up to that...was almost a running joke how much he was tested....and based on my experience, what I know of that culture (as was involved back in the day) and my experience training athletes...in and during off-seasons I stand by and believe it was some tainted something or other....but lets not get back into this Riderfans like to ignore their warts all the time....Thigpen...and another guy in last few yrs which escapes me...not even a murmor from them that it was AndroidHarrissesque....and thats typical narrative from that pathetic fan base

  31. It's not that he forgot how to pee, he was dehydrated and couldn't regain hydration in the 11 hours they waited for him to do so. Poor guy would have crumbled to dust if someone had touched him at that time. Only on Riderfans would "I couldn't pee" be a legit excuse for REFUSING a drug test, but Andrew suggesting he got a tainted supplement was clearly a lie by a chronic drug abuser.

  34. Now why do you even bring a guy in if you are gonna cut him if he lights the world on fire that’s just piss poor roster management. Teams that carry tcf especially at qb in the nfl are cannon fodder for the rest of the nfl.

mayor Gondek,of Calgary. “The cold reality is that we all know the deputy prime minister will be targeted again. We know I will be targeted again,” she said. “Women in media and politics often feel like we’re screaming into the void.” And while condemnation of such verbal assaults is important, action is necessary, she said. Groups and individuals perpetuating hate should be identified and must face consequences. “Expecting people to ‘be better’ is not enough anymore. Organized hate has to be rooted out and stopped through legislation. The justice system needs to protect people who are targeted. Listen to women who are telling you the law is not strong enough to protect us,” she said."

  42. I'm getting the impression that the league is doing what it can to encourage him out of the league. My bet is that for every single game going forward if he does anything remotely fineable... he'll get fined. I wouldn't even be shocked if the league and the players union have a tacit agreement in this respect.
