  1. I want Zach back, at a fair market price, that doesn't hurt us overall. To sum up, glad I am not Walters.

  4. Zack is...and knows he's a successful product of the environment he was in here, and has been kept clean, and safe, and is in the right "team" first environment...and I don't see him holding us over a barrel, and do the opposite of what guys like Willie..Biggie did in a team first move to help keep pieces in place to get to the end prize...If he made 41ok last year, and we come at him with a 475/485k salary, thats fair, and will be in line with other top end starters, save for Fajardo and everyone and their dog in and around the league see that as a sick joke...I see us getting him for 500k tops...likely just under That being said, I also see Bryant back at what he was last year, and Harris will come in at less too...all easily managed for this coming year, and If Adams is back, He probably coming in at the same as last yr too at the most...likely a slight shave as he isn't defacto #1 anymore, so won't command that. As many as we have to retain, a lot were already at top end of the pay scale and won't be requiring big bumps, and some who may be back are on the downside now of career, and are not focal points, so will be at a discount. Guys who are due a significant bump are Kenny, Stove, Desjarlais (if he doesnt sign) Kongbo (whom may be back sooner than later as he is a futures deal) and lesser extent Darby and Rose...I don't include Bryant cause he will be the same hit basically, and he always waits till we re-up key guys first as he is all about team, then sees what kind of lil extra kick he can get once Biggie and BA are wrapped up.

  5. I'd be ecstatic. But i will eat my shoe if we manage to get him back at under $500K. My guess is $525K and i'd be fine with that. For christs sake he's 16-1 in meaningful regular season games with us and has won us back2back Grey Cups! Hell there should be a Bomber fan beside his bed every day bright and early ready to give Zach a morning massage + happy ending. One two three not it!

  18. So if Evans is high 300k, low 400k and BLM is 425k, I think @Boochis right and 475-485k seems about right for Zach.

  19. Why should collaros get more than Faj? He lost his job to Faj and the riders are so much better off because of it, therefore collaros is inferior to faj.

Yup but Aaron Rupar has it wrong actually. He’s very good at this because he knows, and his handlers know, every time people like Rupar try to twitter shame him, his hardcore supporters will contribute more money that will, as @JConhas said, be funnelled right to his bank account.

  26. The 2 games you discuss are all about spoiling the narrative. The goalpost & conceding the single. We weren't supposed to win those games & we spoiled it for a lot of CFL fans & media especially TSN. Except for Bomber Nation, of course. There was one twisted Rider fan on CFL Fans Only on Facebook yesterday who was claiming that Chris Jones (when he was with the Riders) was secretly working for us & sending the Bombers all the better Rider players. He believes that Chris Jones won the Bombers 2 Grey Cups. You can't make this **** up, folks. As far as I'm concerned the rest of the league, wacked Rider fans & TSN can all shove it up their keesters for all I care.

  28. When Collaros was with other teams, he took an ungodly pounding which nearly ended his career. With the Bombers, he rarely got his jersey soiled. He and his wife have to consider whether he wants to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair or being unable to life his head without hurting. He ought to talk to Matty Dunigan about that.

  30. Thats a tough one for sure. I like Evans but this is a guy who has now lost 2 Grey Cups(granted he hasnt played two full games but has looked rattled and crappy in 1.5 Grey Cups) and the Tiger Cats have never been quite all in on handing him the keys to the ship for whatever reason. Collaros is a known commodity and has proven himself to be a winner. I think i bite the bullet and give Zach the $550K.

  31. Collaros making 410 this past year, we got a lot of value for that. I wouldn't balk at something between 450-500. That's a significant raise for him and feels like fair value. I'm not sure what his agent would say, but I really believe you have to take the Faj contract out of the equation, because everyone knows it's completely ridiculous.

  39. I'm all for giving Collaros fair market value but he also has to realize that he played behind one of the best o lines this league has ever seen and a great supporting cast
    2 points
  40. I don't think Collaros should sign for anything less than 500k as I think he could get more elsewhere, but we do have that Oline and who wants to voluntarily play against the Blue 2-3 times a year? Bonus money, personal health and likelihood of success all factor in

  41. This kind of stuff makes me smile rather than bother me. Fans that try to find that “if only” play as a justification for a loss just means they torture themselves more over a loss by deluding themselves rather than seeing that they need to get better. Case in point the “Fajardo crossbar”. The fans are convinced that the errant bounce was the only thing keeping them from a Grey Cup win in 2019, and disregard the four times the ‘Riders got to the Bomber 5 and only generated 6 points in total as the real reason for the loss. And the media is only too happy to sell a “heartbreak” narrative and not let pesky facts like the double coverage on the last play that would have more than likely knocked the ball away or picked it off, or that a TD would have still left them a convert away from only a tie. End result is even better than the clear loss. We still celebrate an earned win, the fans agonize more over a phony notion that they could have had it and it eats away at their soul, and the club accepts the false reality of “we were good enough to win” and doesn’t focus on making improvements, this setting them up for more failure the next season. So, yes, Ticat fans, that rouge was the only reason you lost. How that must sting!

  43. I view his contract as more of a desperation move by BC as opposed to a slight from Sayles. You cant blame him for following the term/money. I highly doubt Walters was offering a 3 year deal and even if he was guaranteed BC was offering more. Theyve been trying to buy wins for a few years now and over paying left and right.
