  2. Not glamorous, but a rookie O-Lineman, Desjarlais, with so many starts for the Bombers, has got to be considered. Side note: quite a crop of rookies the Bombers have signed..

  5. Have to disagree there..Moon was barely a 50% passer his first 3 years with 54.7% being his best year...double digit INT's 2 of 3 years as well...Clements as well his first 2 years was a under 60% as a passer...threw INT's in the teens his first 4 years..never eclipsed 2900 yards his first 5 seasoned and that was playing 16 games as well, Flutie came into league with 5 years of pro experience with USFL and NFL so can hardly even put him in that conversation...Reilly had 2 seasons in league backing up before he became a starter with middling numbers and save for a last chance pre-seaso game was almost cut..Bo levi was a 3rd stringer for his first year and a half before he got his chance to start....learning this game and the position. So looking back none of the mentioned other than Ricky Ray came in with zero experience as a pro and was thrust into a starter role and took off with their feet running...especially with only 2 years experience at the college level prior to turning pro..so his learning curve is waaayyyy bigger than the norm and his advancement is rather spectacular when you look at it all things considered, especially with pressures of a team on a 29 yr drought and in a bigtime playoff battle Reilly...Bo..all served several years as a back-up and Clements and Moon didn't light the world on fire until 3-4 years into their starting career

  6. I agree. I think Chris Streveler will have a very successful future in the CFL. He's not there yet though. However, the only apt comparison listed in the QBs is BLM and Mike Reilly. The rest had the benefit of beginning their starting careers in the 60's.70's 80's which allowed for a crap load more of mistakes than the game allows for now. So in that context, both BLM and MR were not immediately successful. Neither guy started out as a starter immediately. They both mentored as backups under very good QBs before getting their chances at starting. Also, Mike Reilly's first year as a starter...you might want to check his win/loss record on that season. It took him a year of starting before he learned how to win too.

And that's not that I'm trying to discredit Jones, hell I was on here begging for him to be hired instead of Lapo back in the day (and lots of people said Khari was a crappy coach at the time time). I'd still take Khari in a heart beat, but Mike O'Shea is a damned good coach too and we'd be fools to let him get away. Now if he chooses to leave on his own so be it, but to give him the boot, that would be dumb.

Using this comparison, it’s almost like you don’t know what’s going on in the CFL. Khari’s done a good job but c’mon, Ottawa and Toronto in that division?? Fail.

  13. I think you're 180 degrees turned around on this one. We've had pretty significant turnover/offensive struggles vs Calgary our last several meetings. That tends to lead to opposition points, but for the most part the Bombers haven't had trouble containing Calgary's offense over the past few years in terms of points. I believe the magic number is 30, and that's 30 designed rushes for Harris and Streveler combined. If the run isn't established and relevant in the whole game the Bombers won't produce enough first downs to win, even if they score 20 points in the first quarter.

You can't really compare the roster that O'Shea and Walters inherited in 2013 to the roster Khari recently inherited. The 2013 Bombers were lacking in almost every position, despite his flaws and lack of respect for the salary cap Kavis did a half decent job attracting a number of all-star level F.A. from across the league and Joe Mack has found a number of very good Imports in the last few years to supplement them. Plenty of top level performers throughout the Als roster, Muamba, Campbell, Lokombo, Murray, Cunningham, Evans, Loffler, Stanback, Ackie, Bray, Lewis....

    Canadian Politics

You don't have to agree with the source's politics, but they always bring receipts. Here is a List of 67 Conservative Candidates Who Will Vote Against Women’s Reproductive Rights Canada's biggest anti-abortion organization says it is officially endorsing one-in-five Conservative candidates "Canada’s biggest anti-abortion group says it is endorsing one-in-five candidates for Andrew Scheer’s Conservatives in the 2019 federal election. Campaign Life Coalition, a group that likens abortion to the “Nazi holocaust,” has released a list of candidates whom the group identifies as committed to rolling back women’s reproductive rights if they get elected. CLC says it bases their list of supportable candidates on voting records, quotes and responses to surveys that include questions like whether they’d vote for a law to ban abortions “from the time of conception” or if there are “any circumstances” in which the candidate believes a woman should have the right to access an abortion?" The breakdown also reveals startling provincial numbers on anti-abortion candidates running for the Conservative Party: Half of all Conservative candidates in Saskatchewan (50%) Four-in-10 Conservative candidates in New Bruswick (40%) One-third of all Conservative candidates in Alberta (35.3%) and Manitoba (35.7%) One-quarter of all Conservative candidates in Ontario (25.6%) One-fifth of all Conservative candidates in BC (19%) Scheer has struggled to reassure voters he will not reopen the abortion debate, given he told the anti-abortion group RightNow the exact opposite during his leadership campaign in 2017. “I’ve always voted in favour of pro-life legislation,” Scheer said, before stating he would allow his party’s backbench MPs to introduce legislation that restricts abortion access. “It’s important that the next leader of our party not only allows that, but celebrates that tradition of having free votes on matters of conscience.” https://pressprogress.ca/here-is-a-list-of-67-conservative-candidates-who-will-vote-against-womens-reproductive-rights/

  26. People like to believe this, but the opposite is true. A government can basically shut down or severely restrict abortion services without saying they're shutting down abortion services. They are doing this in the states by writing regulations and requirements for abortion providers that are so extreme that they cannot reasonably be met. The only private abortion clinic in New Brunswick is about to close for lack of funding. The Government of New Brunswick is conservative and refuse to provide funding because abortion services are one of the things they provide. And people can say "hey just go to a hospital", but the only two hospitals in NB that provide abortion services are in Moncton and Bathurst. Access to health services of any kind is just important as the health services themselves. Don't forget that clinics like these rarely only provide abortion services. Much like Planned Parenthood in the States, the vast majority of the work they do revolves around other women's health issues. So yeah, this is a real issue for women. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/sole-private-abortion-clinic-in-new-brunswick-to-close-43568

It took MOS 3 years to get a playoff game. 4 years to get to 2nd place. 5 years to win a playoff game. Khari inherited a mess this year. Late in the off season. No chance to hire his own coaching staff. Lost his GM too. He got his team in 2nd place year 1. A home playoff game. If he wins it, he's tied with MOS for playoff wins and he has a home playoff win, something that MOS most likely won't do in year 6.

The thing that concerns me most is the M.O. hasn't changed -- defensive collapses when we need a stop and anemic offense when we need to move the sticks. It has been this way since forever with this regime and this year has been no different.

    Wrestling

As a 50 + wrestling fan going back to the 60's in Winnipeg with the old AWA my perspective is this. I don't care about the next up & comers from NXT. I have no interest to watch developmental wrestlers. That was what the old independent wrestling circuits were for. For inexperienced wrestlers to develop their in ring & mic skills as well as their personalities before going to the WWE. And now AEW. I'll gladly watch AEW before watching NXT. Nice to see some old familiar faces on television again. What I hate about WWE is the way their wrestlers are still cartoon characters. Bray Wyatt is The Fiend & fans go nuts. The Viking Raiders are another. Two wrestlers dress up as Vikings & scream a lot while trying to look angry. I guess as a fan I'm supposed to get all fired up?? Hardly. Just 2 examples of how wrestling fans intelligence is insulted by making these wrestlers out to be fantasy characters. Have Wyatt & the Viking Raiders drop their costumes & just come out & dominate without the props to make it look believable. When I saw Wyatt as The Fiend, I just sighed & went this is still the same old Bray Wyatt with a slightly different shtick. He does great promos but sucks in the ring. His new character does nothing for me. Having Seth Rollins act terrified just made it worse. Why does Riccochet need a nickname? Just use a first & last name & let him go out there & do his thing which is phenomenal. What the **** does a name like Riccochet mean anyway? Shouldn't he be really called "The Man That Gravity Forgot?" now that Neville is no longer in the WWE as Riccochet is as much of a high flyer as Neville was. I hate these nicknames Vince gives to his wrestlers like it's still 1985 in his mind when Typhoon & Earthquake were Tag Team Champions. Times change & Vince needs to move on from Saturday morning cartoons. Aleister Black has joined Raw. His repertoire are kicks. Sorry, wrestlers that use kicks to the head no longer impress me. When Sean Micheals did it in the 90's it was something new & fresh but now it seems that 90% of wrestlers today use kicks in their repertoires so it no longer impresses the way Michaels did 20 years ago. Nothing like seeing a wrestler absorb 10 kicks to the head & continually kick out of the 1... 2... 3... count. He should be dead as his brains would be scrambled but instead remains surprisingly alive & even recovers to win the match. Fans chanting, "This is awesome!!" should really be chanting, "This is fake!!" because it is & it's ridiculous. As far as AEW goes, I just watched the first show. Not because I haven't wanted to but because I still have to get used to the new time & channel changes. I keep forgetting. But from what I saw, I was impressed. It didn't have that formulaic WWE feel to it with Vince's fingerprints all over it. I don't like Smackdown on Fridays as it interferes with CFL football. I refuse to PVR Smackdown. I have a feeling after the Grey Cup is over, I still won't watch it. Oh & speaking of the Smackdown War Room during the draft, seeing actors cheering & fist pumping along with the Fox automaton or whatever it's called was downright stupid to intelligent wrestling fans. It just makes me want to tune out wrestling permanently but I always come back. Mostly out of habit. Maybe I'm the stupid sucker.

Reasons. Not excuses. Let's look at this from an honest perspective, the first 2 playoff games this team lost because the D simply wasn't good enough. But that aspect of the team has been improved the past 2 seasons. Last season they had a D capable of winning in the playoffs and got a win in the semi final and then ran into Calgary who also had a top D and a better offense. This is why I don't get my panties twisted at the playoff record. You gotta look at the big picture. And really we are going into the playoffs this year with our backup, sask and Calgary aren't. Sure Saskatchewan decided their backup was the better option, but he is their starter now and has been since they traded Collaros. Calgary though has their championship winning qb at the helmet, that's a big advantage for them when compared with 2nd year and raw as hell Streveler. Again, big picture folks. Don't get hung up on the record. Look at why the record exists and why we can not make a knee jerk reaction.

So many excuses!! Poor bombers have to win with their backup... just like every other team in the league this year... Ahhhh playoff jitters... against Jonathon Jennings... that was just a classic Richie Hall collapse like we've seen time and time again We were in the Calgary and Edmonton games until the 4th... Lapo couldn't score and Hall couldn't stop them when it counted - it wasn't Reilly and BLM being unstoppable Its the same story over and over for four years now

  40. Well, I am hoping for a minority Liberal Government propped up by the NDP. Even if the Liberals don't have the most seats. I think a liberal Government being kept in check by a progressive party is a good thing. Maybe that will stop this whole campaign left of center and govern right of center bullshit game the Liberals play.

  41. Well, how can it not? I mean it's only been 30 years. But this has nothing to do with the last 30 years but the last 6. Since we became competitive in 2016, we haven't been able to get over the hump with this coaching regime. I just think that giving O'Shea a new 3 year deal will make some Bomber fans happy & anger others thus polarizing the fanbase which will cause problems. We all hope that this is the year so let's see what happens.

  45. Come on! He calls the plays he's given. It's written on his little playbook attached to his sleeve. You know how it works on this team -- you play the way you're told to play, no exceptions. Start freelancing and you're sitting on the bench. He's smart enough to do as he's told isn't he? How many of the QBs you've listed above have had to play for Lapo? What kind of receiving corps did the QBs you've mentioned have? The kid is saddled with a timid OC and a weak set of receivers and you know this so why keep dumping on him? The fact he has been as successful as he has proves his intelligence given what he has done with what he has been given. If he had Rogers, Walker, Begelton, Banks, Myala, Ellingson, Green, Williams, Posey, etc. to throw to how smart would he look then? Because he can't make great tasting chicken salad out of chicken **** doesn't make him stupid!
