  1. Osh ain't taking Thomas off the roster unless he was dead and even then it's 50/50

  2. Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes. And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock under 2 mins with 3-4 plays.

  3. 1 brady. ofc carried the team today. 25-210 yards 2 zach. protected the ball, got it out fast and made good decisions couple tough throws 3 cam allen. some good cover, couple great hits separated wrs from balls which changes how teams can attack you. hh sterns bone jarring catch over the middle block of the game to strevy as a wr lead blocking for brady had a good edge seal crappy honker to that stupid ass siren dunce caps to lawson jr, form tackling on d, hogan honorable mention to strevy for doing a lot in light of injuries, wallace, wilson in short yardage, jones, and wj Unsung hero award to Person. he didn’t record a stat, but he tipped holms pick and had atleast 5 key pressures plus a couple hits. bonus points to having lapo in the booth. he’s soo damn good and improves the quality of life watching games by a ton

  5. What i loved the most about Bradys game last night was the power he was running with. His TD run he got hit, shrugged it off and put his head down and exploded to the endzone. No one was going to stop him there even if they hit him. Dude has unreal strength. He was hitting guys all night when they tried to tackle him. Only way he went down is when dudes just held onto his legs.

  6. I do have my own database. It's the CFL's play by play and then my charting going back to 2015. I used to have access to the CFL's play-by-play database. It was gone after the switch to Genius, and I'm working at learning how to access their stuff. In the meantime I rip each game's play by play PDF into various Excel files. From there I work on charting, field goals, punting, 2nd/3rd downs, run game, expected vaule of field position...a whole bunch of things that I think have value for future discussions.

  10. DT did an amazing job of holding Hogan’s feet to the fire. The play-call was absolutely indefensible. And Hogan’s defensiveness and arrogance in the interview was almost worse. A couple weeks back, he also lauded his offence’s ability to get 400+ yards, even though they lost by 21 points and most of the yards were in garbage-time. To be young and inexperienced is understandable. To be defensive, rigid, and arrogant is not. I am officially concerned.

  11. I wish someone had asked him a follow up question. What’s the difference between going up 9 or 13 there? That was an inexcusable call. There was 2:58 left … run the ball twice, kill a minute at minimum … make it a two possession game with 2 minutes and change left. Even if you give them a 13 point hole instead of 9 … it was first down, you’re giving them an entire extra minute to work with. God awful.

  12. Someone needs to answer publicly for that, I think there needs to be an explanation given as to why we sunk 160k (lots upfront) into a receiver that we aren’t even considering using

  13. Jake was always that high effort rotational depth Canadian that had a use... but now he's treated like he's prime Doug Brown.... which is insane. Even when he was good he was still just depth.

  17. But how motivated would Wilson be to come back to the Peg with his rookie contract vs waiting to see what happens down South? I'd redo his contract and give him a signing bonus to hopefully get him up here ASAP.

  18. A few comments about the game. Glad the Bombers won but there were still a few WTF moments starting with the coaching staff. There was some questionable play calling on both sides of the ball and O’Shea’s time-management skills leave a lot to be desired. Do these guys talk to each other? The O-line played pretty well especially when run-blocking. Kolankowski deserves a lot of the barbs thrown his way but on Oliveira's initial big run (28 yards?), Kolankowski opened it up for him by blocking one defender and then bouncing back to get a second guy. It actually looked like he knew what he was doing. Oliveira was immediately in open ground. I was pleasantly surprised. Lawson, the DB, was terrible at least to begin with. There's a reason the Bombers brought back Houston. The sooner he's inserted into the lineup the better. Why is Kramdi starting at S when Allen is a keeper. Don't we already start more than the minimum required Canucks? Kudos to our Special Teams (good coaching). The kicking game is solid. Castillo always was and it has taken several years but Sheehan is coming around. I like Vaval over Logan as a returner but it's probably too early to judge Logan. Good to see Wilson out there for the 3rd and short plays although he might have been out there because Streveler was lining up as a receiver. Do the coaches not see (what seems pretty obvious to me) that Wilson for whatever reasons is at this point the better option. I’m still convinced that the recent game in Calgary was lost because they used Streveler instead of Wilson on that 3rd and 1 on the Calgary 10. Had we scored on that drive, it would have been a dagger in the Stamps. Collaros played well. Was that his best game in a long while? Oliveira is looking stronger which points to a full recovery from his injury. The next two games will be interesting. Objectively, the Riders are the best team in the league so it will be challenging for the Bombers. Go Bombers Go!

  19. I thought this was a good game for the O. Montreal is always going to get pressure, they have a great D. 26 points and 200+ yards for BO, missing their undisputed #1 receiver - there's not much to criticize there

  20. As opposed to his play calling? Just kidding 😁
    9 points
  21. 2nd and 3. And you take out your QB so the D focuses on the run. Stupid. Epically stupid play call. Likely one of the worst play calls ive seen in my 1/2 century.

  23. Was not impressed by Hogan’s comments yesterday. Defends an indefensible play call and throws his qb under the bus. Gotta wonder how the players feel.

  24. If Mitchell plays well someone should be answering some very uncomfortable questions.
    9 points
  25. Then why did we pay him like a stud receiver? You keep missing that part of this equation. I don’t think anyone here is clamouring for the use of Dillon Mitchell because we’re all long term members of his fan club. I think most of us are confused as to why we paid 150k annually to a guy who is turning out to be the 9th (at best) receiver on our depth chart.

  26. There's a drastic difference between Collaros and Streveler's passing ability. Even with Collaros struggling. And the O in general. You'd have to watch the games with your head jammed up your butt to not admit that. Like take the emotion out...watch the football. Streveler can barely hit a pass over 10 yards. He's arm throwing. He doesn't set his feet often. He doesn't move off the first read, ever. And now he's stuck in the pocket because he can't out run a DL. Streveler is like Dustin Crum without being able to run. And it sucks, because he's a Bombers legend. But he's busted up, and he's not a pocket passer. Unlikely he'll become one in his 30s because he doesn't appear close to admitting the physical limitations he has...and honestly one of the biggest ones is his throwing motion and appearing to struggle to get anything from his lower half into his passes.

  28. Hello Everyone Congrats to Atomic, who won the first contest. Since we have a lot of the season left, we will do a second contest. Same rules as first except if we get to the end of the regular season and we still have people left. We will take all the contestants with the lowest number of strikes, and they will advance to the playoffs. Playoff will be a single strike elimination, so if you're wrong, you're out; correct, and you move on. If we still have people left after Grey Cup tie breaker will be contestant with most different correct answers from this week to the end of the year. Place Picks Below

  30. MOS and KW have eight straight 10+ win seasons (with a shot at a 9th), 6 straight WF trips, 5 straight Grey Cup berths with two Grey Cup wins. The team has sold out the first 6 home games with the 7th getting close. Yeah, we're frustrated with both of them but it would be a total surprise if either is let go.

  32. This is kind of my take away... Mtl's offense was a shell of it's normal self... and we gave up 13 points... not great against a 4th string QB... but not terrible Our O vs their D was basically health vs health (minus Dequoy and Schoen)... and then we were down to 3 viable receivers by the second half... we managed to put up 26 points and get the W To me, this game is a far bigger positive than needing 2 ST TDs to beat a bad Toronto team, at home, a few weeks ago...

  34. Allen with his size and range... he is what the secondary has been missing. Can't all be smurfs. League owes him an apology for those weak ass PI calls.
    8 points
  35. I'll say this: the physicality that Cam Allen brings to the secondary is going to help change that. That kid is just barely scratching the surface of his potential, and he's the best DB find in a good while. He can cover, he can tackle, he can hit, and he can come up to play the run game. I'd love to see Woodbey and Allen draw in, maybe eventually. I wish we could see where allen would be at if he had broken camp on the AR, like he should have.

  40. It’s crazy to think, but I’d honestly say the only untouchables on our team right now are Brady Oliveira, Connor Shay, Gabe Wallace and the rights to Elgersma. Everything else could be on the table. Not saying blow it up, I’m just saying that if we were to declare full rebuild and decided to move on from the whole team, those four pieces would be the only ones I’d be upset about. Brady- enough said Shay- you drafted the most pro-ready guy in the draft and haven’t given him a chance, gotta see if he’s the next Singleton/Judge Wallace- pretty much the only Canadian OL we have who doesn’t get a seniors discount at Salisbury House Elgersma- I think this is obvious

  41. if your expectation for punt returners is "regularly wins games singlehandedly" then I suspect you'll ultimately be disappointed with Vaval ... or with anyone, really.

  42. Any single one of their receivers on Jake Kelly or whoever we play at field corner is a bad time. I'm hoping Cam Allen comes on. Kelly might be better off at field corner just given the task of managing the deepest outside route instead of trying to read into backfield and make decisions. He kept stopping his feet then trying to recover which was 3 deep balls, two catches, one for TD and his PI. Athletically I think Kelly is a good prospect (yeah he's in year 3) but the processing clearly isn't there yet at game speed. The most egregious roster management issue is that we're forcing a guy like Kelly out there when we only really need to play one Canadian on D. The DL guys don't kill us as much as is talked about, but putting a guy out there to just be a mark for the opposition in the secondary is not good. We've dressed 3 American LB's (aside from T Jones) to take about 70 reps in the past two games on D between them. That's a bit less than half the snaps on D. But we're dressing a secondary with no backups aside from our primary returner (who is not an outstanding nor experienced CFL DB) and using two Canadians in the secondary when we only need 1 on the entire D based on the number of Canadians we're starting on O. So....beef up the OL with Americans, bring in another receiver/playmaker...beef up the secondary or interior DL with an American. We can easily do two of these things. It's crazy how we're utilizing (or not) our American roster spots.

  43. I wrote this because the team has gone away from what worked in the 19 Cup win and we saw it tonight with Calgary's dline. When a qb doesn't have the time to throw chances are the other team will win. Collaros has no time to set his feet . We can all agree he is not the player he once was however we didn't win the cup in 19 because of him. It was the defense setting the tone. Making plays Did anyone not see the Eagles demolish Mahomes Signing Thomas so early meant our dline was going to be the same and it sucks

  44. To me, this is such low level judging of the game. Of course we didn’t lose because of two singles. We lost because of continuous poor coaching, including the coaching choice to give up those two singles. this stuff isn’t happening in a vacuum but we continually watch our coaching staff make poor decision after poor decision after poor decision
