The WR that I like on our negotiation list (for what we need, imo) is Eli Pancol from Duke. Bryce Kirtz is an okay name to bring in, he might even be a good player for us but it’s been a while since we had that go out and get the ball type dawg as a receiver, the kind of guy that can just body DBs and be a tough haul to bring down. That’s the kind of guy I want to see us bring in.

Count me out for trading Elgersma. He's the only guy that is really exciting me as a future QB for us. We need to go all in on rebuilding our o line and then pass the torch to Elgersma.

I'm hoping they're gone and we can discuss replacements.

This week on MBB, Posters battle over who hates the Riders the most.

Regardless of who the backup was they were a better option than a qb who can't use his hand.

Walters calling this a turning point for a new era has me hopeful that running it back is out of the question this year.

And you can maybe excuse them for playing collaros in 2022 with the bum ankle.... but leaving him in when he couldn't grip the ball in 2024... just inexcusable. And dressing 3 hurt receivers and a hurt bighill in 2023 is just inexcusable.

We routinely played more Canadians than required so does it matter if we don't use the advantage?

2022- 15 carries for 82 yards, 1 catch for 4 yards. Bombers QBs are 14 for 25 for 183 and 2 picks. 2023- 19 carries for 119 yards and a td, 1 catch for 8 yards. Zach was 19/23 for 236 yards and a pick. 2024- 11 carries of 84 yards and a td, 2 catches for 18. Bombers Qbs are 15/33 for 202 yards and 4 ints. I'd say Brady showed up in those games. Meanwhile we're paying a guy $600,000 who was a combined 48 of 76 for 621 and 6 interceptions. That's 16 for 25.1 for 207 yards and 2 picks per game. So Brady was 45 for 285 yards and 2 TDs and 4 catches for 30 yards. That's 95 rushing yards per games (6.3 ypc) with roughly a TD.

Oh, I'm fine with MOS back if he fires Hogan and gets a real OC and he starts saying bye bye to the aging vets. I get frustrated by him but appreciate the 9 straight 10+win seasons, 2 cup wins etc. Honestly a little worried about who we would replace him with. Yeah so basically I just want Miller to kick MOS and KW in the ass, light a fire and then improvements.

If Toronto is looking for a replacement I know a real up-and-coming offensive co-ordinator that might fit.

Just rewatched the end of the game l because I am an idiiot. Around four and a half minutes left, down by 6. The D gets a huge stop. Vaval gets a decent return, helped by a penalty. Offense takes over at the 45 with just over 4 minutes to go. What do they do? Throw away under pressure with no receivers in the same zip code, and a two yard pass to Wheatfall. Punt. Fire Hogan.

I'll be disappointed if Brady goes elsewhere.

There is no universe in which Hogan should be brought back as offensive coordinator. He was an unmitigated failure and the offense outside of 1 game was abysmal.

FWIW, I emailed Wade Miller yesterday in response to the club's email to me about being part of the sold out season. I hemmed and hawed but finally hit "send" (could have been the second glass of wine with dinner.) It will be interesting whether I get a response. Mr. Miller, Now that this disappointing season, in my opinion, has ended for the Bombers, I feel that I must express my views on a number of issues: Congratulations on the 14 straight sell-outs! As a partial season ticket holder (split two seats with two others) and also a casual ticket buyer, it felt good going to games that were sold out. The atmosphere was "electric" at times. However, based on what I saw on the field this year and to a lesser degree last year, I am considering not renewing my portion of those two season tickets. The current staff's use of the league's roster rules is a bit baffling to me, for instance, continually dressing more than the minimum required Canadians. (There are a couple of roster spots currently occupied by, in my opinion, non-starter quality Canadians.) The lack of use of the "nationalized American" rule is also concerning. (There are several veteran Americans on the team who would qualify and who might be better used in this category.) I realize that this is the C(anadian)FL but make better use of the rules. Head Coach O'Shea has made some odd roster choices throughout his tenure here. I first noticed it with his continual playing of Sam Hurl at MLB. Then it was the truly baffling decision to roster and keep trotting out the American, ex-Navy Seal, Damian Jackson. Truly bizarre, in my opinion. Currently, two players come to mind as starters who shouldn't be, Kolankowski at Centre and Thomas on the D-line. I've watched every Bomber game this season and the ineptitude of these two is quite evident. Surely, there are better players on the roster than those two veterans. Loyalty is fine to a degree but the coaching staff (Coach O'Shea?) is taking loyalty to another but detrimental level. I was wary when Jason Hogan was announced as the new OC but, at the time, trusted that the Bombers' tall foreheads knew what they were doing. However, I'm extremely disappointed in Hogan, not so much that he was a "rookie" but, to my eye, because he didn't improve his plans and playcalling over the course of the season. It is my opinion that Hogan should be relieved of his duties. I greatly appreciate what Collaros has done for the team signed he was signed. However, I (and a few others) have noticed a decline in his play that started at least a year ago. I don't understand why before this past season started, he was signed to a contract extension. To me, it would have made more sense to have him "show us" before the extension was offered. The "elephant in the room" for me, and judging by letters to the editor and comments on online CFL and Bombers forums, many others (a majority of current CFL fans?) are the proposed rule and field dimension changes. No doubt tweaks to the rules are warranted. Getting rid of the single point for kicking or punting through the end zone and a few others I can live with. However, the dramatic changes to the dimensions of the field of play and moving the goal posts (literally) are a "no go" for me and many others. When was the last time that someone was injured by the post? Sure the odd football hits an upright as Collaros this past Saturday. As a teenager in the mid-1960s, I was at a playoff game where the Bombers beat the Roughriders because Ron Lancaster hit an upright when had Gord Barwell wide open for what would have been the game-winning TD. It's rare but it's part of the Canadian game. The lack of prior consultation by the league with its stakeholders (i.e., the fans) was not a good move in my opinion. Perhaps, the league's brain trust thinks that the changes will bring in new fans? Perhaps but will that offset the potential loss of current fans (i.e., me). I have also read that the players and management were not even consulted. And what of Football Canada, U Sports and minor football in general? What are they to do and better still who will pay for it? Naylor says the bombers have requested and been granted permission to talk to Mike Miller (toronto) for the oc position! He notes miller is a candidate for the argos hc job still. Theyre giving me some hope!

Would love to see Justin Hardy here. Dude is a legit #1, makes plays all over the field, has had three straight 1000 yard years. His 2023 season had Terrance Edwards energy ... he hit 1k with rookie Dustin Crum, bad Nick Arbuckle, brokedown Jeremiah Masoli and Tyree Adams as his QBs.

I would have been ok giving either of our qbs with all of their fingers a chance to finish that game.

The point is, we regularly play subpar Canadian starters and guys with high upside don't get reps just because they're rookies.... and with BOLO it is more an example of even when guys are too hurt to play he stood on the sidelines... he might not be a super star but he's IMO better than Corcoran and clercius and we lost him because of that lack of opportunity when it was teed up on a platter for a guy to step up. I know you got your lips firmly planted on O'Shea's backside but things don't work in the black and white way you think.

Canadians are the highest paid players at almost every position in the league. That’s just how it goes. Almost all of them can be replaced effectively by a cheaper American, but then you’re stuck using weaker Canadians. Id rather pay guys like Demski and Oliveira and have to use cheaper Americans elsewhere. Guys like Logan ($114k) are the mistakes we need to avoid.

Osh is 7th among all time winning head coaches. Seventh. To bet that the Bombers could find a better head coach then him would require an all time stroke of luck. There is definitely an argument to say his time has or will need to come to an end. I personally thought he was going to Toronto. I am mostly just pointing out that he is not nearly as stupid as some here would have you believe.

I said before and I'll say it again... Dickie was granted the opportunity to fix a FAR WORSE mess, and he hasn't earned half of what Osh has. We'll know PDQ whether or not Walters and Osh have learned their lessons. I am forever the optimist and am already looking forward to what should be a very productive offseason...

No, he doesn't. He brings in talent but has no say in game day roster or who the head coach decides to keep. What you're describing is the hallmark of a dysfunctional organization. One of the reasons we've been so successful over the last decade is that each of Miller, Walters and O'Shea have stayed in their lanes and allowed each to do the job they've been hired for. We can question whether or not Walters acted prudently with respect to our pending free agents or if he did enough to fill roster needs. We can question whether or not Walters held O'Shea accountable for his decisions over the course of a season. We can question O'Shea's in game management and roster make-up but to suggest that a GM is going to unilaterally release players without input from the coaching staff is ******* absurd.

MOS and KW have both fallen short the past few years. I've said it multiple times and so have others.

I think the issue is that we are going on 3 years of waiting for O'Shea to correct his mistakes and it feels like he is doubling down on them instead. I'm perfectly ok with giving him more time with us, but I'm heavily skeptical because we have trended downwards over this time with no signs of change.
