  1. Nice..this is a key signing...one of the have to have back ones in my opinion as he just coming into his own...he physical..one our better tacklers...can play any of the db spots and guys dont realize hes 220+ pounds..and can cover...hed make a solid WIL too if given the opportunity...and was our best SAM last yr

  2. Did the same logic apply when Sam Hurl was starting at MLB back in the day? Oshea using his roster in a suboptimal way is not a new phenomenon.... but I feel like we go around and around and around about this all the time.

  3. wallace played the best of our guards outside of vanterpool. It was his first full season and first time being a semi regular starter. The fire is pretty far from his feet. Eli, is the one who needs to step up most. After that, it’s bryant. We have a good few imps to push him, and we are going to see some very good imp tackles hit free agency. Wallace is more than fine if he continues his progress at the same rate. imo, upfront money is the way to get him and at a good over all price. https://3downnation.com/2026/01/18/b-c-lions-gm-ryan-rigmaiden-sounds-alarm-about-nils-effect-on-future-of-cfl-qbs/ The only thing i’d add to rigmaidens comments is, it’s not coming. it’s already been here. And it’s nil+ nfls expansion of pr and pr compensation. We already don’t see the guys who have any real success at good schools. We’ve lost first and second pick over of the former pipeline schools like bigsky, basically once a qb is 4/5star in hs, we’ve lost out on an opportunity with them unless they fully crash out of the nfl or blow all that money. Even then, the usfl is more attractive to those guys despite the less money. the days of 80-90k qbs with some upside is over. I think a second salary increase should partly be used to split the cap with qbs. The floor needs to be 150-200k for us to attract the talent the league desperately needs. Teams should have a floor 1million on ar qbs. It’s an investment in the league and game it self. 500k for the starter, 250-300k for qb3 and 200-250k for qb3. If your top tier qbs are earning 750k-1million each, instead of 500-700k you have a much better ability to attract young qb with upside talent and success. Yeah. Allen to corner, kramdi to s and griffin to sam would be awesome. pretty much just sergio to re up now

  6. Honestly having Streveler here on IR and basically interning as a coach would be a pretty smart move. Kind of thing an organization with cash to leverage should be doing.

  7. Vaval being back is another positive. Walters off season so far has been very good.

  9. Well with the goal post fuckery necessitating more short placement punts he might be very useful

  10. I am really happy about Neufeld upping on another year. I feel some don't give him the credit he deserves.

  13. No. We already have a lot of money tied up in the secondary.

  15. I've seen a bunch of players and coaches in the NFL say that the talent gap between the NFL and the CFL is not huge. We don't have the top-tier outliers, and don't keep them when we find them, but average imp starter to starter it is way closer than people realize. The consistency of players, coaches, and systems here is too much for the UFL to overcome. Even though we see a lot of turn over with in the league each year, its still a lot of guys staying in the league and with similar systems. The top tier in the UFL is very good. The problem is that below that, it drops off a massive cliff.

  16. This is so childish. You’re talking about his career like your feelings on the topic have any relevance.

  21. Maybe just maybe we should be looking at developing Canadian Qbs as well..say a designated 2 to 3 year spot for a Canadian Qb to be groomed( that actually benefits a team ratio wise), the talent has gotten so much better, they just lack the coaching that US players get.

  22. The Griffin signing is an excellent move....Paddy also re-upped for a year won't hurt.....IF we can make a couple of solid adds in fa, things are coming together nicely.....

  23. Neuf is a steadying influence on the OL for sure. I think he'll have a great season with Koala finally gone. I mean.... Finally.

  24. Addison isn't just big (tall), he plays big. Converted to S during the COVID-shortened season after starting out as a WR (2 years). In the 3 years post-position change, he was very productive. The good: Size (6'5 195), Athleticism 4.55 40 10'7"broad, 36" vert, great explosive numbers, good speed, and average agility numbers. Successful position change. Versatility, he played a lot of teams, backed up, but played a lot of reps. Played very well against the run and the pass. Physical, with a great nose for the ball, made a lot of plays. The bad, a bit slight build for his height, 6-year covid super senior, despite playing well and for big schools, didn't get much NFL interest. The Ugly is, only a 1-year starter despite being in college for 6 years. Overall, really good pick up for camp. Very high upside, the type of guy who could fit extremely well into JYs system, and has an inside track to playing his way onto the team with his team's skill set. He's a crafty, extremely physical football player who has that lunchbox ethic and dog mentality that Mos loves. Which, in a very big-bodied athletic DB, is a great combo. He's going to be in a very tough position to make the roster, with Kramdi/Allen/Woodbey, hopefully Griffin, and likely Vaval as a Di. But he's got the talent where he could come in and take a job, or capitalize on any opportunity that pops up. https://www.nfldraftscout.com/cfb/bio/1021804 https://uclabruins.com/sports/football/roster/bryan-addison/14419

  25. I bet he performs well if the coaches butter him up.

  26. hopefully he can navigate the maize of training camp and although somewhat liited in attempts he avaeraged over 10 yards a PR and 21 a kickoff...so as in in gae replacement he wont just bobble and drop for no gain....so that depth is nice and especially with his National status...and yes he does have some wheeels on him and has to be accounted for out there

  27. Good signing really...proven National depth...proven returner as a backup in a pinch with in game injury...can run jet.....Far better player than Corcorran who if we draft well and or grab a National in FA should never see the roster

  28. I’d be fine with it if the refs didn’t continuously miss completely obvious calls right in front of their faces.

  29. yeah, didn't see much from Logan last year that showed that he was still a CFL returner ... if Vaval is off chasing the NFL, would rather roll a rookie or a FA signing there.

  30. That really depends on the wear on them. Ive seen a ton of people who've reconditioned their hips and knees for extreme use changes in the 30s-60s (Bjj, yoga, muay thai) and its not only worked very well but drastically improved issues. Youd be surprised how many ex ol make moves like that (usually post-career) and how much of a positive impact it has. No one has the flexibility to get rolled up on, that's not a thing. if you get rolled up on from the side or rear of the leg, you are plain lucky to get up afterwards. No matter the age. Stan isn't our best T. If he comes back at 100% of where he was last year, he may not be our 2nd best T. A change inside for a guy like stan isn't relearning. Shortsighted? We are talking about a 40-year-old OL. At this point its about getting the last bit out of his career. There is no long-term anything; he's 40, and the year before last had to be carted off the field and hospitalized for dehydration. You keep saying moronic, even though kicking inside happens across all leagues, specifically to extend careers.

  31. Good news on Castillo... I don't mind Sheehan though I'd like to see some legitimate competition for that job...

  33. I think we will likely sign him at some point on a barf=gain deal for late season possibly being ready....no harm in that really, but in no way count on him in any regard We have a couple of nice prospects we signed, but hope we add Hardy to Pokey, Demski and Clercius and whatever rookie pops off the page as the 5th guy and that would be a nice group Maybe we are gonna target a Canadian WR in FA and go 3 Canadians and 2 Imports...and allow us to maximize some legit Import beef on the dline

  34. A rough look at the depth chart with 3 weeks to go until free agency, apologies for any errors or omissions:

  35. He did. In camp he played about as much corner as S, maybe a bit more. Then he played both in pre season, and was forced into action at corner for one game before he started at S as well.

  36. Allen on a corner..Griffin at SAM..Woodbey at Will..Kramdi patrolling the middle...Nichols and Holm in their spots..that's a pretty versatile starting core and would allow a lot of different looks Younger could install Now if we get a couple disruptor DT's to go with Lawson...2 ends with motors who can allow WJ to play a limited rotational just get after the QB role with Bailey's unique skill set sprinkled in we could see circa 2019-2021 style defence again

  38. I just remember Brandon Browner patrolling the secondary with the Stamps. Receivers had a hard time with his size (height), speed & physicality. He dominated.

  39. He’d be a very good fit at either, also at wil/nickel. Hes a down hill type more than a side to side guy. The sam needs to be a good bit of both, especially in our system. His so so agility would be the big obstacle, plus the nuance of the position. He certainly has that upside and versatility that we should challenge him in camp with many positions and see where he settles. Those big fringy guys who can cover are extremely valuable in Ds. For me, i’d build a D around as many of those outlier match up nightmares as possible.

  40. Things went off the rails for sure. When ownership doesn't care this is what happens. Pinball is such a company man. He straight out lies to cover MLSE & his ass.

  43. I'm fine with Logan being cut regardless of what happens with Vaval. Logan looked slow last year in his (granted) few attempts. I don't mind another competition there.

  44. 4 seasons. His 2001 season was ended by a back injury and that was pretty much the end of him being a full-time tackle - he did see some action there but he was mainly a center from that point on. He played until he was 39 so he had a fairly lengthy career & wasn't lasting a whole lot longer no matter what position he was in. By the time he was moved to center, he had played over a decade between the NFL, WLAF & CFL and had suffered some major injuries during that time (and in college).
