    Site Slow Down and Issues

You may have noticed that the site has been somewhat slow today. Trying to diagnose what is causing it, but probably won't be able to dig in deeply until later today. May notice some intermittent up and down time while I try to figure out what is causing it

  2. Guys .. I'm going to ask we leave the FB situation off this discussion board. With that said, I'm going to prune a few messages and will hopefully not have to revisit this. I would have stepped in much sooner but have been incommunicado the last few days and access has been spotty.

  3. I have to head up by Edmonton for work on Friday, so I decided to switch some things around and head up for the game Thursday night. I am forever terrified of being the guy in the opponents jersey when the home team embarrasses us. Like, I don't want to be the guy in the jersey of the team that finally let Edm finally win a home game.... ugh. I have spent enough time in both Commonwealth and McMahon where the Bombers got embarrassed and I had to hear all about it. Terrified of that tomorrow......but still have confidence in the fact that we're just flat-out a much much better team than Edmonton, so it SHOULD be okay........

  5. Yeah, they just couldn't get it going. It was odd because BC does suck and they sucked the suckiest suck sucks last Thursday.

  7. AND he's obviously a dictator most corrupt person ever. I've never been so limited with my freedoms, rights and privilege's as a Canadian as I have since he took power and if you can't see that I don't have time to tell you why and stop ganging up on me echo chamber libtards.

  9. Don't care so much about the DL this week but really surprised we are sticking with McCrae as the returner. He is scary back there and not in a good way.

  11. The DA has no requirements for experience or snap count. Only rule is they have to sub in for another American. The Bombers haven't been using the nationalized player rule since Grant has been out. The DA is what was formerly called the Designated Import. They haven't used Jackson on offense more than 10 snaps a game when he's dressed and they have 7 OL dressed. They have Augustine who should be able to function as a second back to throw a block, line up off the tackle and come across to throw a split block on an end backside, arc block backside. They bring in Demski or Bailey or Wolitarsky often when they go max protect. To me they want Jackson on the roster more for special teams reasons and it's an incredible luxury. Somewhat unreasonable given how thin the DL is on the roster particularly with Jeffcoat's ongoing injury issues. Defensive players should be going full speed from snap to whistle every play. You need way more subs there than on offense where you're really subbing guys to give different looks more than anything else. Running backs might need a break, receivers if they have a big play or take a hit, but for the most part guys like Schoen, Lawler might leave the field for 3-4 snaps in a whole game. Balls kicked off a tee have way less spin than a ball kicked off a drop, especially as the punters have worked on developing that, something that comes natural to the guys who are rugby/Aussie Rules players. Ball kicked off a tee is tumbling end over end, a ball kicked of a drop could be spinning a variety of ways and they all break differently. They have to decide where and when to catch it, have some eyes on the coverage but mostly on the ball. Spiral punts (basically what anyone would do if you tossed them a ball and told them to punt it, assuming they hit it square, hold ball vertical) a lot of guys can catch on the run, but you see from watching McCrae and Parker the past few games they haven't caught any on the run, think Parker maybe did once but also let the ball hit the turf a bunch of times. A lot of the punters now are doing drop punts which is straight out of rugby. They rotate the opposite of the spiral punt and is what the NFL wants for those kicks to pin teams inside the 10 because it should hit the turf and bounce back into the field, not into the endzone. Punter will hold the ball horizontal and basically drop it down to their toe. A lot of the issues with catching the ball in general is what you see with punts. Need to catch with hands, secure in arms, not let it get into shoulder pads that's when you see the bobble. Need to track the ball and look it in, obviously not easy when you're going to get cranked.

  13. I have been in alberta for 16 years and have witnessed a lot of losses haha. But over the last few years I haven’t seen a loss live so I really want it to stay that way tomorrow! We had 5 tickets right behind the bench and I added another 7 without any questions. I talked to the sales rep about getting 7 more and he didn’t even charge me for them because they are just wanting to get fans in the crowd

  20. We had a crazy amount of injuries to start with. A lot of missed time and challenges to over come. Now it’s mainly grant miller Hansen and Habba. Which would give our dl depth and teams a massive boost. Get healthy at the right time

  24. here's hoping fellas! Got a fun couple of days with "work" east of Edmonton, and would love to kick it off right with a great time at Commonwealth tomorrow night... super weird going by myself. Wife and various buddies have to stay home for work, so going solo on this one. Can't remember the last time I ever did that.

  26. My buddy was in Ottawa for the epic collapse. He was giving it to them pretty hard, even starting a key gingling "Beat The Traffic" chant midway through the 4th lol. And then had to sit there and get back slaps and taunts from dozens of Redblack fans as they left the stadium lol.

  27. Or Miller is back....whatever comes first....but good chance he will sit someone else and keep burning that DA spot...which makes it even more frustrating as he is still being a stubborn clown and not using the Nationalized American option as well....why is anyone's guess but he is the only one not taking advantage of it If he would use Jackson for meaningful reps outside of garbage time it wouldn't be so bad...but he's not.....so it's pointless to burn the DA for 6 to 10 snaps a game and some ST work....If a coach on another team...Especially Jones or Dicklesson in Sask was doing that....not using the nationalized rule as well....we'd be chortling and laughing and saying what a doofus he was and a lousy coach...But since our own is doing it...its all good...we won 2 cups...last of which was 2 yrs ago....yeah us

  28. Being a long time nervous nelly hardcore Bomber fan that I am, I am soooo with you on this. DO NOT play to their level. I do not want to be the Elks first win of the season, especially living here in enemy territory.

  29. I have faith that the current contingent of linebackers will keep Tre Ford from making too many big plays.

  30. the lack of DL rotation makes me nervous... not just for in-game replacement... but for wearing out Jeffcoat (and Willie, for that matter) in the early-mid season... I'd rather Jeffcoat take lots of snaps off now and be ready to go 100% in November... As for the NA rule... let me see if I have this correct... from Edmonton's perspective (because they are actually using it)... Ealy will "start" the game (i.e. play one snap) then sub out for Ceresna... then throughout the game, the can run Ceresna and Ealy for 23 snaps, as Ceresna would technically be subbing in for Canadian starter Nelson at that point... seems like something we should be using... Flipping that over to us... we could list Walker as the NA... "start" Fox... then play 23 snaps with both of them as Walker would be subbing for Thomas...

  31. Truth seems with Osh that if we win...he just keeps as is...sure why change things...but also there are options to make us even better, with guys who have been here...not rookies...so why wait for a screw-up causing a loss...or just a loss cause a certain player wasn't the best option....dont get that...be pro-active and not reactive

  32. You know O'Shea. Its going to take a game losing McCrae punt return fumble in the 4th quarter of a close game for him to make any changes. I dont get it. We barely ever use McCrae and he's not needed at the moment especially with Lawler back. O'Shea/coaches cant possibly all be blind and not noticing the bobbles every time McCrae catches a kick. Its just a matter of time until one hits the ground. Youve got an in-house perfect solution in Parker. USE HIM FOR F**K SAKES.

  34. which actually kind of makes it funnier... it's probably a fairly innocent ritual, end each practice with a victory formation because the goal is to end each game that way... but word of it spreads and it starts to sounds like in their minds, they've already secured victory... Bombers start to hear about it... it adds motivation... and next thing you know, a storm's a brewin...

  35. And why even list Parker if he's practicing?

  36. I do wish they'd incorporate the individuals from the 6 game IR within these press releases. This provides an inaccurate portrayal of our injury situation. That said all considered we're doing pretty well for this point of the season

  39. I think we do need McCrae for a few reasons. He's the backup tailback. He's the only guy we can line up in the backfield who is going to widen out the D, even if they use Demski as a tailback at times. They'll be pretty sad if Oliviera goes down and they have to play most of a game with Augustine. Need to do better to integrate McCrae into run game. If they are going to use 8 DL they'll need an end or two in that group to be capable special teams players. If we ever get to 8 it will be with Hansen, not 2 designated imports

  40. Burtenshaw is back...who could do it...Heck we have used Gray there, and we have had several games with no full back even listed. Jackson burning a DA spot at that position has no bearing, or is not caused by anything else ratio wise...We start 8 canadians...6 on offence..2 on defence....so if there is only 1 declared to be a defensive starting Canadian, which is whatwe have done....then Thomas can come out all game and be replaced by FOX...Haba...Gurbutt....and extra DB...hence why the burning of a DA on a FB is even more pointless all thigs considered.\ Also factor i if Osh would put aside his stubbornness of that new rule...which all teams but us use, we would be even more well set up to really dominate and have fresh legs coming in and out . Parker had 2 college returns, but was the in game back-up...so practiced it often I am told, and it is apparent watching the 2 guys field kicks...and fielding kicks vs a punt is like night and day and some guys just cant comfortably do it...and to risk things with a guy not comfortable at it...when 80 percent of punts are fielded inside your 20 yard line is playing with fire when there is no need too...especially when the guy better at it can do so much on defence, while the other is sure nice on offence....but not needed nearly as much...we have too many guys as it is to spread the ball around as it is, and why take away targets from Lawler...Schoen...Demski....not necessary Dline is the spot that needs the most rotation, as you are playing a guessing game, in pursuit, and being reactive...O-line not so much as they are being the aggressor and know the play call and the responsibility...it's a huge difference

  41. Wilson with helmet off...I assume non participant...but expected and he is fine..doing some maintenance stuff Garbutt looks like a bit longer version of Haba... interesting to see his reps today Fox so athletic for a bigger dude...if we would DA him instead of Jackson and give him reps...and use the Nationalized American rule and have sets with him and Walker together damn we would be in business..and so tough Check that..Wilson is participating All offensive starters taking reps...shocked McRae is full participants too...swore he would have had a day off from what I saw his knee do in the game
