I have no doubts they would move the team if they thought they could make even a dollar more somewhere else. Would the NHL allow it? If it meant them making a dollar somewhere else, they sure would!

I can't see the team leaving. With profit sharing, broadcasting revenue, sponsorship, merchandise, etc., the brand remains strong as a small market franchise. IIRC, the Jets were valued at $650M as of late last year. Complacency in the front office is another discussion (hockey operations) but the franchise from a business standpoint seems pretty stable.

Chipman and his band of merry men have more revenue streams that Jets 1.0 could ever of dreamed of, his problem is that he though the seats would be filled even though his GM is not very good at his job and the coaches he has brought here and even worse and the product on the ice has been substandard the last few years. Now people are giving up season tickets and they will sound the alarm that you must support this team or risk losing it. The team is going nowhere, look around some of the other markets that are playing in front of 10k, Coyotes can't even fill a 4600 arena, and when they do it's the out of market fans that are doing it. NHL on a whole has attendance problems.

So I'm definitely not saying TNSE is right......want to be clear about that......... but, hypothetically, if the team were to leave again....... how would people around here feel? I'm just curious is all. Was the whole "Bring Back The Jets" thing just a fad that people have grown tired of? Just curious what the vibe is here and around Manitoba...

  19. We opted out of our tickets for next season. The group consensus was relief. Tickets are easy to come by now and the product on the ice has been anything but consistent recently. "Mired in Mediocrity" would be a better, more honest slogan.

Exactly. Matt Gaetz provides a well-informed well thought out articulate evidence based argument that gives us another side to what is happening in America. If you choose to dismiss this genius insight from MG, you are actually the problem, being divisive, hypocritical and very narrow minded when it comes to how to deal with these ongoing mass killings in America. All you have to do is research it like I just did for you here. This brilliance generously shared by Matt Gaetz should finally put to bed that its just not the RINO's that are bad but proves without question the Democrats are equally bad. A story from Candice Ortiz from Mediaite: Gaetz warned of Big Pharma’s “mind-altering” medications that cause “psychosis.” He even went as far as to say that “the Democrats are telling the trans community… that Republicans are coming after them and they need to defend themselves by killing people who don’t agree with them.” The congressman shared a recent threat he received via voicemail in which the caller threatened to kill him if he continued “coming for the gays.” “So the Democrats are purposefully riling up their nutty shock troops in hopes that they will terrorize normal Americans into submission. Rand Paul was assaulted by his riled up neighbor. A congressional baseball practice was shot up by a riled up Bernie bro,” Gaetz explained. “The Democratic Party and Big Pharma that are unleashing the crazies on you, and nobody seems to have a solution for it. So here’s one. We need to reopen the asylums,” Gaetz said. “There are severely mentally ill people who do not have a right to wander our streets seeking and selecting who they are going to terrorize, whether there is criminal culpability or not.” Did I do this right? I'm F'ing tired of the stupidity, the dumbness, the stubbornness of suggesting stuff like the above that spews out of MG's mouth is no worse than what the other side says and does. Minimizing the severity of what MG and others like him continue to say and do on a range of serious issues and how it fuels up knuckle dragging Americans will continue to cost peoples lives by suggesting these nutbars, these lunatics are no more worse than others. It's like comparing an Apple to (insert something completely not in the realm of an Apple).

The other thing about bitcoin is it targets to have a new coin "mined" every 10 minutes. This means it adjusts how hard the algorithm is to mine the next coin regularly (every 2 weeks I believe). The more people that mine it, the more difficult it becomes. This is the difficulty factor over time, which would also be an indication of how many machines are out there trying to mine them.

  28. Tonight’s games and implications of each result: Winnipeg at Minnesota - a Jets win or loss in OT/SO gives them the final playoff spot in the West. A Vegas regulation win and a Colorado regulation loss would also guarantee that the Jets play the Pacific winner in the opening round. A Wild loss in regulation would eliminate them from division title contention. That and a Colorado regulation win would ensure a third place finish for the Wild in the Central. Buffalo at New Jersey - a Sabres loss in regulation would eliminate them from playoff contention. A loss in OT/SO means they could finish no higher than 8th, and if Pittsburgh also wins then a Buffalo loss in any form would eliminate them. A New Jersey win or OT/SO loss guarantees them a top 2 finish in the Metro division and home ice advantage in the first round, and also eliminates NY Rangers from contention for the division title. A regulation loss and a Carolina win would clinch the division title for the Hurricanes. Philadelphia at Columbus - nothing definitive for either team Detroit at Carolina - a Hurricanes win or OT/SO loss guarantees a top 2 finish in the Metro and home ice in round 1. A win and regulation NJ loss clinches the division title. Toronto at Tampa Bay - nothing at stake, these teams will meet in round 1 starting in Toronto. Washington at Boston - nothing at stake, but Boston would set the all-time record for most points in a season with a win. Chicago at Pittsburgh - a Penguins win and a Buffalo loss in any form eliminates the Sabres from the playoffs. A Pens regulation loss and a Buffalo loss in any form also clinches a playoff spot for Florida. Edmonton at Colorado - a Colorado win and a Minnesota loss in any fashion clinches a top 2 spot in the Central for the Avs and home advantage in the first round. An Oilers regulation loss and a Vegas win or OT/SO loss OR any kind of Oiler loss and a Vegas win clinches the Pacific title for the Golden Knights. Seattle at Vegas - a Vegas win and any form of Edmonton loss, or Vegas OT/SO loss and an Oiler regulation loss clinches the Pacific division title for the Golden Knights. A Vegas win and a Colorado regulation loss clinches the #1 seed in the West for Vegas. Vancouver at Anaheim - nothing at stake beyond lottery seeding possibilities, which will still not be set after tonight. There will be a quiz later.

You don't know this at all. That's just your bias. It's Johnston. He was Governor General of Canada, appointed by Stephen Harper. Next time we'll ask the gov't to use smaller words. I love how you can just invalidate something because you don't know a word.
