  3. I don't know where to put this so I'm just going to put it in this thread. After a year or two of having only 2 or 3 major threads, I've decided I hate it. I realize I'm probably in the minority but imo it really takes away discussion because the topics are moving so quickly. Anyone share this sentiment?

  5. Can we at least agree that if Rourke's foot comes off playing the Bombers, then it's clear that they rushed his recovery a bit?

  10. Don’t need to be. See down south they are actually very open with injuries and recovery time and are extremely advanced in tracking those stats. In the nfl 90% players recovered with an average return taking 11.1 monthes. 7.3% never returned. The fastest recovery was 6.3 monthes. None of the players in this 10 year span returned and ever matched their previous production. Rourke has been out less than 2 monthes. Think it’s fair to say that recovering 3x faster than the fastest nfl recovery in a decade is being rushed back. Also remember each nfl team spends more in athletic trainers than any team pays their qb not to mention all the world class facilities and cutting edge tools at their disposal. to put this into perspective a level 4 acl sprain has a recovery of 9-11 monthes but knee injuries have a huge variance in terms of recovery time and quality. Lisfranc sprains are much more similar in recovery. If you are interested in it, 30 seconds on google can bring you to a bunch of top tier quality official reports, pages, and resources from doctors the nfl and legitimate football media.

  13. Yeah, I had reconstructive surgery on both my feet in 2012 & 2015 due to severe arthritis. I had hardware in both feet. My left foot still has hardware but they were taken out from my right foot after 9 months. My feet may have been fixed surgically but they were never the same. I have no more pain but I have to use a cane to walk because my feet don't work properly as bones have been fused. I have balance issues. I'm 67 & my athletic days are long gone but if I had these surgeries at age 27, I'd have been devastated.

  14. A serious foot injury like this is life altering. It's a big deal. Player safety is player safety whether it's a brain or foot injury.

  15. Correct me if I am wrong... but we haven't heard one word from any doctors regarding rourkes injury.... So everyone is simply calling BS on the obviously insane notion Rourke will be ready to play. It's marketing plain and simple.

    Covid-19

It's good to see that hospitalization is relatively low across the country I have no doubt there are numerous cases, but 5300 hospitalizations across the country - indicates that most people are vaccinated or have other acquired immunity

  21. Calgary could possibly be eliminated from 2nd place contention before their next game. With the Sramps’ loss last night, BC needs 2 wins to guarantee 2nd. They get a Bomber team with zero to play for at home tonight and go to Edmonton next Friday where the Elks have not won in 3 years. By the time Calgary plays Sask on Saturday, they may well know their fate. Now, Sask has been playing so lousy that it may make no difference how little Calgary has to play for.

  22. Did you not just hear about Tua in the NFL? Seems to me the doctors got it horribly wrong with their franchise QB. Let’s be honest there’s a lot of politics and shady dealings in sports when it comes to injuries and looking the other way in regards to getting a star player back on the field earlier then anticipated.

Yup...and it's a mere formality but the Riders are pulling out the hefty sacks to clean out their sties...I mean lockers

  25. The Rider sweeping the Stamps while Hamilton loses back to back to Ottawa... ,,,I agree, very unlikely
    2 points
  26. Cats likely eliminate the riders from contention with 1 win. 2 against ott vs 2 against cal for ssk. Cal is likely to rest their starters in the second game but if ham wins one game all ssk can do is tie the cats. Unless they sweep cal which I don’t see happening. Going to be a tough pill to swallow for rider fans missing the play offs after getting beaten in the west final back to back by us. They haven’t beaten us in ages. They barely score majors against us. If dicker and Oday are brought back season tickets attendance and viewership are going to plummet.

    Playoff Update

Based on current records and the remainder of the schedule, here are my predictions West BC splits with Winnipeg, Calgary splits with Sask BC and Calgary finish tied in the standings, and it comes down to their season series, to determine who gets the home playoff game Which means BC would finish second, Calgary third Sask does not get the crossover, because I don't see Hamilton losing even one game to Ottawa, they are currently tied and SSK needs to finish AHEAD East Toronto beats Edmonton tonight, which will give them a 4 point lead over the Als TOR and MTL will split their remaining games, which will give TO first in the East. The Als are not consistent enough to win both games, but they will take first place if they do, as they would finish tied but win the season series Hamilton will win out against Ottawa, but still finish 3rd, as the Als should win one more game

  31. I realize you posted this before the cal/ham game…. But that ham win pretty much seals the riders playoff fate… they now need to either sweep Calgary and hope hammy loses at least one to Ottawa or beat Calgary once and hope Ottawa sweeps… Hamilton controls their fate

  41. Ham and Ottawa would both have 5 wins after tonight and play each other twice which guarantees a 6 win. Technically sask could tie a game against Calgary if one of Ham or Ottawa swept
    1 point
  42. Ottawa and Hamilton play each other the last 2 games of the season which means one would get to at least 12 points.

  43. LaPo was never a qb. He was a D3 receiver. He doesn't look at the defense the way a qb does. Jacques Chapdelaine was a receiver as well. Both offenses are set up differently & aren't qb friendly. My son played qb for Chap at SFU. It was his CFL offense that he modified for 4 down football. The qbs all had difficulties picking it up. The terminology & plays are different. Both Chap & LaPo didn't have a lot of success calling the plays in the CFL either.

  46. not to continue to derail this thread (of which I'm very proud).......but some thoughts on the beer of it all: -Brazen is fine. The Haze Bomb is what my wife and I drink at the games. It's great. I've been to the restaurant once and I enjoyed it. It was a little "fancy" for my tastes, IIRC, but it was nice. It was the first place I ever went where they had the one giant, open-concept washroom area, completely gender neutral, and in this age of gender fluidity and inclusivity, I thought that was a really cool idea. -TCB is just more like my kinda place. The pizza is great, I love the big long tables, and of course the beer is excellent. The Lamplighter is my favourite core (I'll always favour Reds/Ambers) but they have several that are really well done. It all comes down to personal preference, but as long as you're drinking something made in Manitoba, with "as local as possible" ingredients, by Manitoba brewmasters......then you're doing it right.
