  1. So is there a weekly snap count audit to make sure everyone is compliant? They really need to work on simplifying the roster juggling and not making it more convoluted.

  3. And then came to Winnipeg for grades two through twelve? I kid! I kid! Actually, that would be the accelerated program for grade one graduation in Riderville. Anything under 5 years and you get a “my kid is an honour student” bumper sticker for your tractor.

  10. No need to count, chips in helmets are coming, within a few years every player will have a chip in their helmet which tracks plays they're involved in, player direction and speed, and whether they're on the field or off. More stats. will create more tie ins for gambling and fantasy football.

It might be funny if it didn't involve 100,000s of dead people for no damn reason except to continue the mirage that is American excellence. It might be funny if it didn't result in the rape and torture of innocent people. Or the increase rate of suicide among those he sent to fight in a unjust invasion. It might even be funny if he decided to take care of even a portion of those people who were negatively impacted by his war crimes. But yeah I guess he laughed a bit so we should give one of the worst war criminals a live a break. If you haven't figured it out yet. I hope that man dies a painful death.

  19. I guess there's a new job... Snap Counter. They'll need an app that they click on which players are in on each snap and keeps a running snap count for offence, as second one for defence and a running % for each Yankee NI. Actually, there won't be any in game penalty for snap % infractions. If there were, then you'd have to have Canadian's first, Yankee NI's second and keep the Canadian's in 1 additional play each set of downs. Otherwise, their would be a snap % infraction as soon as the Yankee NI plays as many plays or more than the real NI. Example: If you start your Yankee NI's. Play one, they are over 50% of the plays. It's just stupid. Ratio should be simple: Minimum X Canadians, Maximum Y Imports. Minimum Z Canadian starters.

  20. I think Strev's value goes up with the new rules given his skill set and receiving experience. I think he'd have to take a bit of a discount to come back, but certainly hope he does.

  22. if you have an opportunity to bring in a weapon like Chris Streveler, you do whatever takes. Period. I'm not saying he's coming back to Canada or to Winnipeg, but if you have the CHANCE, you do everything you can.

C'mon down to Winnipeg, where we will have an NDP government next election. I guess there is definitely some irony there. Doesn't change how the people of rural Manitoba feel about it though.

  37. No you don’t. -Doing whatever it takes should not include paying him over $200K to be a back-up. We saw what investing $750k in QBs did to BC, I’d rather have a balanced team where we have money to build a solid o-line, some good depth receivers, and pay our ratio-busting running backs. -Doing whatever it takes should not mean replacing the league MVP to let him be a starter -Doing whatever it takes does not include breaking the bank for a guy who still hasn’t proven himself to be an effective passing QB or a consistent winner when he starts. The book on Streveler when he was the full-time starter was load the box and spy him, anticipating the run on most plays and forcing him to beat you with his arm. As a spot-duty back-up teams would not dedicate as much practice time to defending against him on the odd play. But his win-loss record as a starter showed that teams had him more contained once he was the only focus in a game. And there is no evidence his stint in the NFL transformed him into a better passer or reader of the secondary. -make it work if you can since it is a nice story and will sell tickets in this town if he is back, but don’t do whatever it takes and sacrifice more key areas of the team because we crave a beer-guzzling, fur coat wearing personality who is a fun guy to have in the locker room. We have the league MVP, QB is not the area to “do whatever it takes” to bring in a back-up. JMO, but I admit I am biased because I don’t have a non-sexual man-crush on him like I’m George Constanza going rock-climbing with pretty-boy Tony.

  41. I'll never forget!! I was in Grade 8 in September of 1969. I was sitting in the Salisbury End Zone bleachers in the south end zone. There was a stiff south breeze that day. Ed Ulmer was punting from the end zone where we were. He punted the ball & Boom *** must have travelled 70 yards in the air downfield. It sailed over the Lions returners heads & I remember them sprinting as fast as they could to catch the bouncing ball. Ninety one yards later, BC had a first down. What an awesome punt!
