Not my saying, but thought it was applicable here: Few things in life bring more joy than Rider misery. I cherish your tears, and your lamentations are the sweetest music.

"The team that drafts Duron Carter will get the most lazy, whiny & non-work ethic player the nfl has ever seen. I played w/him. Horrible person & will be a complete cancer to any team on the board." That's what his junior college QB said about him in 2014.

Translation: Just in case no one offers me a contract I can say that I didn't want one. Someone please offer me a contract.

My favourite comment about this on Riderfans was that this was a precursor to a trade. Pretty funny to see other posters there explaining that you can't trade a guy you just released.

Best player in the league. Please please please dont let him come here. I'd rather never see him in the league again. He is such an Ass clown

And why does the press release say "receiver"? I'm confused? (lol)

If they retain Jones after the season...how in the hell does any free agent player sign in Saskatchewan?
  12. 3 points
Well, I hate to be negative...but on Friday night our receivers were open all night long...lots of overthrown balls
  13. 3 points
And ofcourse riderfans is now full of "he took too many penalties, wasnt that good anyways, head case we dont need him, etc , etc" quotes lol.

Farhan Lalji tweeting that it may have something to do with Terrell Owens. If so, LOL. If true then Jones is completely insane.

I would hardly say Ottawa is 'hot' right now - they barely won against the Als last night, and the week before imploded against Toronto. They are also only .500 on the road thus far. Edmonton and Calgary are still the teams to beat. That's not to say Friday will be a cake walk - it is the CFL and anything can happen, I just think we're a better team than Ottawa overall. As for Nichols - I think he just had an off game against the 'cats. He'll bounce back.

If Owens is going to sign it will be after Aug 20th when 1st year players can start signing one year contracts.

The quarterback is no longer the main problem in Montreal. Manziel is learning. He is inexperienced, but watching him, you can tell he has talent. The receivers dropped a few of his passes on Saturday.
  20. 2 points
Honestly, even though he's a prima donna, I feel bad for Carter here. No denying his talent, and Jones throwing him on defence after an all-star season as a receiver was just plain dumb. Then to find out from his teammates and Jones' response when Carter contacts him - well, no one deserves that treatment.
  21. 2 points
In what crazy world would you have to be in to want Carter anywhere near this team? Saskatchewan just got a bit better (addition by subtraction) because at least a little bit of the dumpster fire fuel has been removed and now you want to bring it here? I don't care if he has some talent. He's a such cancer to any team that touches him that only the most desperate would. Let him go to Montreal.

    1. Bighill - could Durant quitting the team be the biggest move of the year? Without it we can't afford to sign a star MLB. 2. Harris - the engine that drives the offence 3. Medlock - 44.7 yard NET punting avg. (same as his overall avg!) is unheard of. Controlled the field position battlr. HH - loved Petermann's YAC yards and blocking contributions, but give it to 3rd string QB Bryan Burnett for making a tackle (and a good one at that) on special teams!!

Rick Campbell is a terrible coach. Even a terrible coach can win a Grey Cup.

The deep game isn't Nichols strength and it's not this teams strength so yeah it was a mistake to constantly try for the big plays. This team wins by ball control on offense, why go away? Yeah you gotta take shots, but last night was too big a departure.

I hate the whole what if's... What if our d hadn't pooped the Bed against BC and we lost on the last play? What if our d hadn't pooped the Bed against Edmonton and we lost in the last minute? Yeah we would have been 7-1 instead of 5-3. Be happy that our D has turned things around and we have won 3 in a row. Things are looking up. NIcholls is bound to have some stinkers. He still helped us put points on the board. This is a team game, not an individual one.

Odds and Sods - Hamilton at Winnipeg

He had a bad game, that's all it was.

👁‍🗨The Morning After..with Coffee. Incredible plays between Masoli and Banks. Some fans blame our defenders but the pass placements were better. Banks performed like a real receiver out there, some real nice catches.. Good pressure all night long from the D-line, a little susceptible to Masoli’s scrambling, but getting the job done. 4 sacks..nice. Long ball? Maybe too many? Or too many to the same guy? Did Masoli outplay Nichols? Maybe slightly in pass % and running, but not in QB efficiency. Nichols only completed 13 passes..but they were the right ones. Medlock? Outstanding kick performance..kicking with the opposite leg? Looked normal to me. Must have practised it. The guy is a pure professional. Randle? No worries there. Hamilton’s opening drive sure looked like trouble was on its way in the long run. The Bombers proved otherwise. Demski - Meet the expression “getting in the groove” Big game for him. How about those back-to-back sacks after the Harris fumble? Good calls eh? Better discipline than the Ti-Cats, and it counted. Dressler’s impressive consecutive catch streak is alive.. Who ‘de mann? Petterman. Nice subbing.. Bennett - special team’s QB ace - another banging tackle.. That Thompkins guy just might prove to be a valuable player.. Andrew Harris.. Bravo to the noise making great fans on that last drive.. I suppose you can say the Bombers beat another below .500 team..or, you can say these teams that we beat are below .500 because we beat them..

Duron Carter Kicked Off The Farm

Cutting Carter was pure and simple: it was a salary dump... coming up on week 10 they would have had to pay him for the whole year if he played one more game ... you don't want to lose a draft pick next spring for being over the salary cap ... nor do you want to be exposed for having such a high salary low performance team in front the country's most delusional fans

I wouldn't say it's an entirely clean slate in Toronto. Popp was the GM who cut him in Montreal for his sh**ty behaviour. He's desperate to turn around the Argos season though so he might take the risk.

Carter is the author of his own misfortune, but this does not excuse Jones in any way. The Riders had to know who they were hiring, so I have little sympathy for management there. After the debacle that Jones has been, there is enough blame to go around for all.

Not wrong. Matty has to play better or we won't be able to compete with Calgary or Edmonton in the playoffs. But that's not a position we can address. Streveler needs to sit back and learn for a couple years before challenging Matty. He just needs to do whatever he needs to do to get back to where he was at last season.
