  1. You're not wrong -- Wolitarsky wouldn't solve our "no Kenny Lawler" problem ... but he would solve our "starting Concoran" problem.

  4. I do have another name that can fill in as an emergency receiver. Why not bring back Lucky Whitehead again? Better then nothing and he can return kicks if need be. Also for future self:

  5. Wasn't even a link to his release - it's a link to his profile on the Ticats website, where he's still listed on their active roster. Nothing on FB, Insta or the CFL site about him being released so I have no idea why the link was posted.

  7. Wolitarsky had 5 2nd Down Conversions last year in 10 games. Over his career with the Bombers he had 80 in 96 games In 2022 and 2023, Schoen had 81 in 34 games... I can only see stats for receivers with more than 350 yards for 2024 so don't know how many he ended up within 2024 in 51 games with the Bombers, Lawler had 76 Demski in 76 games had 82 FWIW Dillon Mitchell had 22 2nd down conversions in 2024 which is more than Wolitarsky had in any season

  8. yeah nothing about him screams successful long career....not sure the allure there to be honest for that pick,,,,havnt looked at draft results but I sure there was something more useful at that point in draft, tho in those rounds generally most are just a hope and dream pick and many never amount to spit

  12. And that means absolutely nothing. They decided to move on from Jake Thomas in 2018 and the ******* guy is still here so they definitely aren't opposed to bringing players back. That said - this is a nothing burger debate since there have been no rumours or intel suggesting this is even a possibility. A poster with zero credibility posted a link to his Ticats profile and people went a bit nuts over it.

  13. Youth Football. I'd bet the Bombers are close to if not the team with the largest investment into youth football in their province. New equipment/jerseys/coaching/funding for flag/camps etc etc. Hell they just bought the entire league T-shirts that are branded heavily with Bomber colours and logos. Along with the team the kid plays for. Every kid on my team knows at least a couple Bombers. A good chunk based their jersey selection off Bomber player numbers. Even when asked if 88 is for CeeDee Lamb...the kid said no...Wheatfall. Not to mention the recruitment from up north and flying people in to watch games. I don't know what MLSE does to help out amateur football in ON. But I'd say it's likely not enough.

  14. Makonzo on for Kramdi...and play so you cant take him off...I can see it happening

  15. Luke Wilson is irrelevant to prob 90 percent of people who watch and go to cfl games. Most ppl probably have no idea who he even is honestly. I’d imagine the average person at a bomber game has no clue who he is. Average not online smart mark fan. The young ones certainly don’t. Not sure mom and dad know either honestly. I forgot he had a cup of coffee when Seattle won the Super Bowl 10 years ago now but yeah… he’s not gonna grow the game, neither will the panel or any other thing like that, what will grow it is promoting it and keeping it as truly family friendly kids welcomed environment. There’s nothing a guy like me in Winnipeg can do about attendance problems in Toronto. I don’t live there, I’m not sure the issue, it’s probably MLSE related tho. No marketing? I’m not sure cuz they used to draw a bunch. I mean is cricket outdrawing the cfl in the t dot now? Last time I was there I’d say yup it was. I can’t fix that. MLSE can by marketing the team better but they really don’t. So that’s on them. They seem ok with it.

  16. I’m really torn on Elgersma. Part of me wanted him to succeed in the NFL because it would validate we can develop good QBs in CIAU football. The selfish fan in me wants him to come to the BBs and wildly suceed, our own version of Russ Jackson, if you will. OK, I’ll get back into my straight jacket now.

  17. I thought Elgersma had another offer from 1 other team not named Green Bay but it appears they all passed on him. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s up here sooner than we all think. The politics down there is real, ask Doug flutie about that.

  18. Cap space? lol Elgersma is basically the prototype, tested off the charts at the couple senior showcases and senior bowl. Arguably best overall ability of the QB's in the 2025 class. Look at the mess in Tennessee with the #1 pick. If you want a guy to mold into a franchise QB he's got all the attributes without the bad habits that need to be coached out from playing in a shitty NCAA spread system. Perfect guy to run pro style, west coast concepts. Yeah they probably worry about his experience level, but lots to work with there. Guy who was a multiple sport athlete and didn't commit fully to football until Grade 11/12....which is also the basic plot line of arguably the two greatest QB's in the modern era, although they were baseball players not hockey. Neither one of those guys (Brady and Mahomes) were 5 star recruits. Who cares if a guy went to Miami or Texas if he has no velocity or accuracy, can't make throws on time, can't adjust and make plays if they get off schedule? All to say, I don't expect to see Elgersma up here until 2027 or 2028 at earliest and more likely never. I don't really see him coming up soon. He has no path to playing time here this season, he'd probably have to force a trade but there's really nowhere other than Montreal who needs a QB immediately where he might get any playing time. The only reason for him to come up would be to play and set himself up for another NFL shot. Standing on the sideline here doesn't make much sense.

  21. it's not necessarily about him being just a 500 yard receiver... if that's all he brought, I'd agree... he brings chemistry with the offense.... blocking... TE-type play... leadership... reliability (as a player, not necessarily when it comes to injury concerns)... if the Bomber decided to bring him back, it wouldn't be to put this O over the top... it would be help shore up the bottom end and provide depth... Of course we all agree, unearthing a difference maker at this point would be amazing... but probably not realistic...

  24. well....we need both Actually I like the Echols signing to be honest....guy could be one those sneaky season changing signings...he definately motivated to perform

  25. Woli would make the perfect replacement for Corcoran as the extra guy on the squad as well as take rotational reps, and was huge for iur run game, if he was available would be a smart aquisition....can play all the spots...ZC trusts and looks for him He doesn't need to be the #1 or a guy expected to be leaned on Chain mover....2nd down conversion guy (ZC totally leaned on him for that as he always knew where to go vs a defence)....play the dirty role in run game....and vet savvy...thats it....and really can be just for this yr too

  28. Hopefully its wheatfall..Demski..Schoen..clercius and Echols...that be our best unit...Corcoran can keep his butt stapled to bench unless someone gets hurt...and even then rather incorporate Logan

  29. NFL is boring as ****. Same issues there as CFL. Most teams can't pass protect consistently so even with great QB's you have some real stinker games. Canadian Football at least has special teams to bring some variety and excitement. American Football has basically removed everything but FG's and punts that are fair caught or downed anyways.

  30. Yeah depending on the shape they are in. Moore would likely be somewhat questionable also coming off ACL. Echols I could see being a little more able to go right away. Generally feel like Hogan is a little overdoing it. Just need some basic stuff executed well.

  31. Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes. And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock under 2 mins with 3-4 plays.

  33. Not to nitpick or challenge your post....but he had 8 yrs...fairly solid ones at that in terms of TE stats for a NFL tight Emd who wasn't an offence's key guy NFL fams with casual interest may check in to see whats up if they see he is doing something with league, but ;ike you said youngins and people who are just your average fan would have zero clue, but he does offer more on how he breaks some stuff down and what he contributes to the in-game analysis than that screechy Clair and Britt Dort who Rider fans think is some god....The girl in CGY is good tho and will get better CFL just needs to onboard themselves with the way leagues and companies now market themselves online with social media and fan interaction....thats where they slipping big time

  34. I’ll join you cuz I think there’s a chance he’s the guy here after Zach is officially done. I don’t think it’s Streveler or Wilson or even Artopeus. I think Elgersma will be the next starting QB of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Not this year probably not next year but the year after, he will be our starter. If he comes up this year he’s probably the backup next year.
    1 point
  35. lol. Still wouldn’t bring him back cuz he wouldn’t be starting. Ppl can go on and on until they blue in the face about the backup receiver but really, it’s irrelevant. We need some better starting receivers. Woli would be a backup here cuz no way we start 3 cdn receivers.

  36. I believe guys on IR with designation to return count against the cap... if he's out for the year, no cap hit...

  38. I feel for the kid. He looked outstanding. I think he has a bright future. Whether it’s in the NFL or here in the CFL. Selfishly obviously I’d like to see him in blue and gold but I would have loved to see him make an NFL roster this year and continue to learn from guys like Jordan Love and Matt Lafleur.

  39. He looked really poised and professional in his appearances, it would be great to get him here this season if he doesn't catch on to anyone else's PR

  40. Thomas and Kolo for Wogie....now thats a good deal If The cats toss in some cases of tape, a few new balls and agree to extend both those shlubs then thats a fair value deal

  41. Ya if he's actually fully healthy, then it's a no brainer.... We desperately need receivers, Canadian or not.
    1 point
  42. Wolitarsky has dressed for two games this year. I think the TiCats figure they don't need the national depth at Wolitarsky's price tag ... given that K Smith is playing well and BOLO seems to be fitting in well at WR5, plus they can plug in Johnny Augustine or AML at RB if they need to pump up their national count on O. Seems like a no-brainer to bring him back if he's healthy.

  43. If hes healthy, we need to grab him ,post haste......

  44. I think Wilson shamed the Hamilton Ti Cat fans into selling out their first of 2 games this season... As he just made fun of them incessantly early this season.
