Season starting earlier likely the biggest culprit. And no preseason games on tsn. Will take a while for people to realize that oh yeah, it's summer and cfl is back

don't see wind being an issue and affecting the outcome....Als fluked out the end of the season, and Faj won't beat us again...ever....guy is garbage...Even with the Argo's circus going on and Brown still not a proven legit QB....I still see it being a hard task for the Al's to get out of the East as the top dog 38-16 for the blue....and likely never in question

PAS is probably the least wind-affected outdoor stadium in the league. Being below ground really knocks down the wind.

I think....(based on one play I saw in preseason 😂) I think Ford is going to be really good. Super quick.

With all the legitimate criticism thrown at the Argo's in terms of how some in that organization handled the CK issue, how about some questions for the Montreal organization in terms of the SL issue. I know its the players/Teams prerogative that he can play as his appeal makes it way thru the process but maybe Montreal could say SL is innocent till proven guilty but will not be playing until a decision has be rendered to ensure no distractions for our team with the tasks at hand with our upcoming games. They technically are doing nothing wrong on having SL play during his appeal but there are other routes they could have taken.

Honestly people forget, i went to a Bomber game with Reinbold coaching ( i think it was against BC) and we actually WON the game and people swarmed the field like we won the Grey Cup! Now this season if we don't win 15 games AND the Cup it is a disaster...😄🤯

What's interesting is that with all the lineup changes the Bombers only have 2 new starters that havent been with the team prior to this season.

Lots of guys haven’t played this year, bunch of changes, gotta set a physical tone to the game and gel quickly. Players to watch, Adams, lofton, and Brady.

Yeah I’m an insurance broker and I’m wearing my Streveler jersey. Obviously easy conversation peace but yeah a lot of people asking if there was a game tonight! Oh well going to be a hell of a game anyways. Princess Auto field is always buzzing.

well not the best weather I was hoping for - the past few years it's always been perfect weather for the games I've attended including the season opener last year but oh well, bundle up and let's hope this weather helps us more than it does the enemy.

A couple of thoughts leading into this game: Special teams are going to be a bigger factor in tonight's game than we want them to be. I won't be surprised to see Mitchell double clutching a few balls or putting one on the ground - I don't have a lot of faith there. Maybe that sentiment is misplaced and I'll gladly eat crow if he turns out to be a dependable, not spectacular, return guy. Are we going to consistently lose the field position game this season? Let's hope Sheahan has sorted his **** out and that Miller has his guys assignment sound. Two edge guys on opposite sides of the ball need to make an impact. Can Haba be disciplined and disruptive on a consistent basis? Can Lofton hold up on the edge? On the topic of protection .. last year Zach got hurried / hit more than at any other point in his career with us. Are we going to see that continue and, if so, which Zach shows up? The guy who makes miracle plays and turns something into nothing or the guy who turned the ball over and left you wondering "what they hell were you thinking?" I wouldn't want any other starter in the CFL on my team but there were stretches in games and stretches of games where he looked largely ineffectual. I hope they don't turn Streveler into a gadget guy - he can be more than that. While Ford got limited play time while he was here last, he hasn't proven much (don't get me wrong, I love his ability and athleticism and thought it criminal he didn't get more playing time) and our other corner is a rookie as well. Will some of that inexperience and lack of continuity in the secondary be a weakness? What is the in-game communication and chemistry going to be like between Holm / Ford and Nichols / Bonds? Will BA look good .. will he be in a position (again) where he's doing "too much"? Gauthier is more than serviceable but he's not someone who is athletic enough, rangy enough to make a play if the interior of the defensive line doesn't hold up. I think it's going to be a close game tonight. I'm not discounting Montreal and their defense. Looking forward to some regular season football. Go Blue.

I don't think anyone hates Gauthier. He can play and has his uses, it's just not the the optimal line-up (imo). If it was a ratio issue and had to go with him, I don't think there would be much as much discussion about it, but that's not the case.

yes that play was incredible and one that he'll always be remembered for... but that was a special teams play and it was also 5 years ago.... there's a reason he's a journeymen special teamer with almost no starting experience.... if he was starter quality, he would've been playing there a long time ago, not making his first start at 32 years old... as an in-game emergency fill in, he's fine... but when you've had all camp to find a new MLB and the best you can do it a 32 year old, journeymen, special teamer with no starting experience.... that's a major fail... I hope is that he's a "starter" in name only... and there will be plenty on movement in the LB ranks throughout the game... I honestly prefer the team rolled the dice on Ayers or Gemmell. EDIT: I should also note, I love Gauthier and think he's a fantastic ST player and one of the leaders on this team... he's just not a starting MLB

Lets hope he regularly clamps down where you rarely hear his name called.

The first drive has probably been scripted for the past two weeks, so they should go down the field pretty easily, as they have done in the past couple of years. After that, it's going to be a slog. 21-17 Bombers

Troy Kopp game was great. For 20 minutes or so, the man played like a Hall of Famer.

We beat the Riders by 20 something points, final game of the season. Dr. Jeff proclaimed that this "Was what we were building towards" Next year we started 0-6.......and Jeff got canned.

And that would make me crazy when the Bombers would be up by 20 points at half time and as soon as the second half started, the Bombers would be tossing the 4 yard outs. I could see the whole tenor of the game change as the Bomber offence withered.

Really if you want another DE on the roster then one of the DTs comes off simple as that.

Who do you take off the roster if we did have another DE? Perhaps there's a bit of game planning involved given the opponent. I kind of like having all the LB's and DB's plus the heavier line. Run a bunch of 30 fronts, disguise rush, have guys that can chase and tackle, disciplined rush to hold Fajardo in pocket. Rush in waves. In 2023 playoffs we had Bennett, Hansen dressed as rotational ends. At that point both basically useless. I'd rather have a guy who is useful on special teams than Hubert. On the inside we only had Lawson, Thomas and Walker. To me our DL looks a lot stronger if we can extrapolate a bit from pre-season performance. Not a huge fan of dressing 7 OL. Just missing a body we could use on special teams. Especially with our inexperienced our group is now in terms of special teams. They might use that 7th OL for 4-5 snaps.

This just in. Players that have been on the team for 2 weeks are not listed as the "starters" over the vets. It's the first game. This is not at all unexpected. It is exciting to see Woods and Adams draw in on the D-Line. Shows we are committed to more of a rotation this year.
