Having Eli and Dobson as the subs to come in for short yardage is an insane amount of beef. If Jackson is still dressed that’s just over powered. Short yardage crew should be automatic for 2 or 3 yards at that point. though hopefully that extra beef means we won’t carry Jackson. I Really want to see Lawson and fox side by side. Good luck dealing with Willy and Habba off the edges when those two collapse the pocket and eat 3 o linemen’s lunch. if our defence could just get healthy. Hansen Habba jeffcoat Willy Lawson Thomas fox with kyrie biggie the Canadians and clements at lber. Then 7 deep at the 5 cover spots with the possibility of ford coming back. Man that’s a really good roster.

Hope we are not rushing JJ back. DE is still an area we need to get more depth at.

yeah...looks like with who we been missing maybe we were just trying to weather the storm?...possible....and agree...Fox looks pretty powerful in the limited use we have seen, and I bet a combo of him and Lawson would make a lot of trouble for teams....

if that all actually comes to pass, that's a big upgrade to our depth issues...

Prukop has been brought in to do one thing...run the short yardage unit like he did last yr...plain and simple....and I guess the team feels he can do it better right now and throughout the yr than anyone else they have....so good on us for seeing an area we can upgrade and pulling the trigger...He's not here to challenge for QB 1 or QB2...nor was Piggy right now....so we are going with the proven commodity and the option the team is more comfortable with....and thats that...

Agudosi with the 2nd team could mean Lawler's immigration troubles will be sorted prior to the game. Not sure why they would move him to the 2nd team early though...

The defence is still a work in progress, particularly the secondary, where injuries are hurting us badly. On offence, I just chalk it up to a bad week of preparation and film study more than anything.

Smart short term move. I really am intrigued by Pigrome as well, but at the end of the day if the Bombers feel his upside as an actual QB is lower than Brown's than really bringing back Prukop who runs our short game very well is a no brainer. A lot of people here are thinking Pigrome had the tools to progress to QB1 someday, obviously the Bombers do not share that evaluation.

I've been a Bomber fan for a long time. I don't live anywhere near Winnipeg. I've been to Winnipeg 3 times and got to watch a game there once at the old stadium. One of my bucket list items checked off..... Don Jonas was QB when the bombers first caught my eye. It's nice to see a forum that is cool. Looks like good posters here too.

Giant meh for me about Prukop. I want Zach on the field. Dru can push forward for a yard. Streveler was nice to have while he was here, but Prukop is not him. Pretending he was is (one of the many reasons) we lost the Grey Cup.

He showed well when he was asked to be a QB - better than Prukop ever has. Pre-season or not. I don’t care about his one game not executing short yardage - as I already said.

I would say if there was any player who was likely to ignore the $ to come back here it would be Strevy.

Seeing how tight their roster management is and how hard they squeeze the PR, they'd have to make a spot for Piggy and there's no room for a 4th QB with nothing much to do. O'Shea's focus is on this season and he's not even looking down the road past November.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has added American defensive back Tyrique McGhee to the practice roster. McGhee (5-10, 185, Georgia, August 11, 1998 in Byron, GA) was in training camp with the Bombers this season before being injured and subsequently released. He spent the 2020 season on the L.A. Rams’ practice squad. Unless Zach retires, Strevy would go be a starter somewhere else. Wishful thinking to think he'd come be a back-up when 6 teams would be trying to outbid each other to bring him in as a starter.

yeah unscripted is just a theory some cling to...so who knows, but also feel it likely wasn't as we did that several times that yr with success......ZC forging thru trying to play when in all honesty he shouldnt have been on the field was the demise there...and even then we still could have won if we had an elite PK I am ok with this...he can slide right in on the weekend...and it saves Brown from getting hurt on a sneak play....cause say he did prior to this signing...Sure Piggy is exciting and has some upside...but did you want him as the starter if ZC went down for an extended time if Brown got hurt running short yardage???...I certainly didnt.....so now lets focus on the Dline and move forward

Who says he bailed on us and who says his interception was unscripted? It was an awful decision, but it was obviously an option on the play call. He made a terrible read, and a terrible throw....but unscripted? I don't think so. Also, as bad as that interception was it was one of a dozen plays that cost us the Grey Cup.

Meh to the Prukopp signing. Would rather see a DE, some depth Canadians.

This kind of reminds me of the Patriots they would get blown out in a early season game everyone would panic or say the Patriots were done and they would go out the next week and destroy the team they were playing.

My intrepretation of what he is trying to say is that he thinks the Bombers came out playing their A game and the Lions came out and played A+ and topped us. What I think most people on here are saying is that the Bombers gave an F or D level effort and the Lions played a clean but not spectacular game (B) which against our F level effort made it easy for them.

Damian Jackson is the new Kuale/Romby Bryant from the early O'Shea days. Damn the outcome, the guy brings so much to the roster! We only have 3 DB's left and 2 DL, but have you seen our American fullback/long snapper?

Darby didn't practice most of last week IIRC. IMO he may have been fighting fatigue issues as a result of the illness he had recently. I didn't notice any injury resulting in him being replaced by Kramdi. We'll see if he practices this week. In any case I'm confidant in his play. One bad game is not the issue for him and he certainly wasn't the only one. However, let's give the Lion full credit for showing up with guns blazing and taking us to the cleaners.

My 2 cents Halls defence needs pressure and our D-line is not good enough to give what he needs. IF we improved the D-line the LB's and DB's would be improved
