Elections decide who's right and wrong? Interesting. That's a new one.

  2. But then we'd be blocking Chad's inevitable triumph at Grey Cup after which he will be given an engraved invitation on a silver platter written in iambic pentameter to attend the NFL training camp of his choosing and be anointed as their QB1 so that he can escape his "**** contract" and miserable training facilities. (OK, that last part is true...)

First post in this thread. PP has taken the MAGA script verbatim. He tweets several times a day about how Trudeau has single handedly destroyed the country. This isn't about the issues. If PP and the conservatives really wanted to change anything then we would have heard about it by now. All it looks like to me is "back to the good ol days" mentality. Nothing based on today's reality.

  4. I'm a strong proponent of democracy but will hold my nose and vote for a party led by someone who is following the Trump playbook to a tee. Narrators voice: This playbook has strategies to circumvent and erode democracy. Counter: I'm a moderate, everyone's bad, F Trudeau, he's more of a criminal than anyone else, this Liberal government will go down as the worst ever. My life and a large portion of Canadians lives will get better with PP leading the charge.

  5. Ok, so elections decide who is right and who is wrong in terms of candidates? That is an interesting take... I whole heartedly disagree with that assessment. It's a popularity contest- not thorough vetting of party policies, comportment, nor actual visions of governing. You give too much stock to stupid people.

  6. Pretty scathing read from Brodbeck this morning: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2023/04/17/poilievre-political-tactics-built-on-fabrication I can't imagine the lack of intellect and critical thinking it would have to take to buy into the preposterous notion that this uncouth, perfidious, reprehensible turd has this country's best interests in mind.

Talk about rage farming. But, he didn't really get what he wanted. He wanted it called state controlled media, which the CBC is not.

  8. The league also has a policy to not release attendance numbers. Imagine if it was the CFL that did that? We wouldn't hear the end of it from guys like Arash.

Minority Parliament and Singh's accomplishment is getting dental care for lower income Canadians, while Pollievre's accomplishment is having Twitter label the CBC state funded media.

  11. I wonder if we look at this kid from Brandon in the draft. He didn't make the top 20 draft rankings but he had a pretty good combine. Still has some work to do from the sounds of it but it might be a good pipeline pick and him wanting to be here is not a bad thing either! https://3downnation.com/2023/04/17/2023-cfl-draft-profiles-saskatchewans-dayton-black-transitioned-from-record-setting-qb-to-top-ol-prospect/

  16. That's all he has. He has no platform, no ideas, no solutions. Just complaints and lies. He did get his wish to a degree. Twitter's algorithm is designed to hide media activity with that tag, so it puts CBC at a disadvantage on that platform, further validating the dregs who spread their misinformation on there.

  17. As a lifelong Argo supporter, I am conditioned to expect the worst. Usually it doesn't end up that way but it sort of ends up as an ownership and media apathy which borders on malevolence. When you consider how easy it would be for MLSE to cross promote this Club. The oldest professional sports franchise in North America. The 18 time Champions. In its 150th fricking year this year! ...but it's been crickets and vague promises of special events, commemorations and fan bonuses. We'll see where this ends up. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.

  19. MLSE has done and will do as little as possible to promote the Argos and while they are better than nothing, I really hope that turnarounds in Montreal and Vancouver will either inspire MLSE to wake up or sell it to someone who will do it right.

Didn’t have any love for the lions last year but I have great respect for him and I’m happy as hell that he is the owner. I have high hopes that victor cui will turn the elk around as well as soon as jones is gone.

it will be interesting to see what happens here, as typically when these kinds of high-level suits are settled, all parties will be NDA'd and no admission of fault will be given. But in this case, Dominion is insisting on on-air retractions and admission of fault... look at the bright side! they can replace all of those expensive congressional buildings with a compact car...

  24. Yes, tough break for Chad. However, if he was available I am sure his presence in either of the spring leagues would probably sell out stadiums across the country. At any rate, he feels he is so good he could sit behind MBT in TO and still get his engraved invitation.

  27. I have some ocean front property I am willing to sell you for cheap.... MLSE were leading the charge to try and cash in on the XFL crap. They aren't willing to spend on the Argos and that's the problem. It's nothing to them. Would be a lot better off with an owner that gave a **** about the team and league and actually tried to build up the franchise.

  46. I agree another owner would be better, but I don’t think that exists right now. And yes MLSE would block them from using the stadium. Which is why I say better to have an owner who at least pays the bills and keeps the franchise financially viable as opposed to having no owner and the league pays the bills again. If anyone can identify a willing owner, I’ll revise my statement.

  47. For all the flak that the league commissioner and board of directors have taken, these two sore spots have helped put the league in much better shape, and yes, if the Argos had good ownership willing to promote the team, we would be set. Until the next crisis.
