  1. Whether or not they were running plays, I was good with keeping Collaros out the rest of the night. From my seat in 226, Collaros looked like he was on another planet after that hit. It was more than a little concerning. Hoping he's alright, long term...

he's a friggin' KID, for goodness sake. Imagine being 60+ years old and concerned what a 20-something kid says about a city you used to live in 30 years ago....?? Jesus.

  3. I’m just happy we have a network committed to showing every CFL game on TV. I have no real strong opinions on any of them, not enough to let it ruin my mood, anyway.

  6. I’d like to see Edm fire jones and bring khari in. They have a great president and fan support with some decent pieces he could work with. But if mtl fires him they are on crack. He’s done way more than most any one would do with that core.

  7. Yeah in all seriousness for the amount of time Collaros was down after that play I hope that officiating crew gets in **** for not stopping play and calling out the AT's.

  8. Agreed, I saw as soon as he got up from the hit that he looked a little unsteady on his feet. I was very happy to see that he got pulled from the game after that hit. When he went to go back on the field, he looked a lot more steady.

They're about to deal with another housing crisis down south. Same up here. Obama did nothing to protect homebuyers during his administration. Took the short-term gains of the economy bouncing back, rather than the long-term approach to actually protect homebuyers.

For those who remember John Paddock, former head coach of Jets 1.0 and now head coach and GM of the Regina Pats, an interesting read on his battle with Covid while getting treatment for lymphoma. https://leaderpost.com/sports/hockey/regina-pats/rob-vanstone-pats-john-paddock-has-new-perspective-after-covid-battle?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1655127008

    TSN's Panel & Crew

"For my money, Dustin Nielsen and Duane Forde are TSN’s best play-by-play crew. Their mix of enthusiasm, passion for the Canadian game and ability to know when to let the play and crowd reaction speak for itself is second to none." (3DownNation) TSN media staff appears to be relatively the same as last year. Are you happy about that? Personally, I know that announcers and commentators are going to be noticeably similar to Captain Obvious and I do not think that can be changed much. I like Steagall's courage to speak his mind. The rest of the panel seems scripted with talking points. Sharp criticism is seldom seen. But I am happy. Rod Black is gone and that's all that matters on this topic. I am even able to put up with "homer" Glenn Suiter. I thought he was rather restrained during the Regina game. He seldom foamed at the mouth AND he did not harp on just one player's hilites all game. So growth is possible even in the face of entrenched personality. Your thoughts on the TSN crew?

  14. Last year, privately, the possibility of Collaros receiving his last, catastrophic brain injury certainly crossed my mind. At that point, if we went on to lose, it would have been understandable. High point, the coaches had the next guy ready and we won.

  15. With all ZC has done for this organization, he doesn't owe us anything further. His own personal health (and life after football) should be the main priority. Winning is nice, but not at the risk of his health.

  16. Pulling him might have been the best thing to do. He looked groggy. In saturdays game, watching Fajardo get nailed in the head then leaving him in was a bit of a mystery to me.

Edmonton and winnipeg are basically the same city just Edmonton is bigger and has more money. In terms of scenery they both got rivers and nothing much else. Point in winnipegs favour big lake not too far away. Edmonton is still like 3 hours from the mountains so not exactly close.

Some grudges are hard to get over and dirty Sanchez took a lotnof liberties with some of our star players in the past.

  25. I liked the panel this week. Thought it was well done. And I've been a pretty critical of them in the past. But they didn't do any of the dumb tacky **** this week. Suitor is still hands down the worst. At times I had to wonder what game he was watching. I'm not a big fan of Neilson either but at least he is still growing into the job. Suitor has no excuses for being as bad as he is. It's amazing TSN still has him doing games.

Dunnigan has always been good...I also like Sanchez....not sure why all the hate here....he actually says it as it is and brings perspectives how things actually are...sometimes he stumbles a bit, but he is learning as he goes Beirness yeah, try's too hard to be something she isn't, and the panel moderator isnt a platform for comedy schtick...or attempts at it....I would like to see Brodie Lawson do either friday night or thursday night as the host....letting her go was the stupidest thing they have done...She was a perfect avenue to bring in new viewers and her content was really good

Its not a bad thing thing to say that the city where you are going to play is an ok place. I guess SF27 is going to have to clarify what he meant by Lawler not being classy.

I don’t even think he said there was more to do, just made a point of saying Edmonton was a good looking city. Way over-sensitive on some fans part around here.

From what I read it was mostly that he propped up Edmonton as having more to do. To me that isn’t necessarily a put down of Winnipeg and more that he was embracing his new team’s city in the media. Unless there was more than that I think it was just Manitobans being sensitive.

  31. Khari is in a good spot. The Als can fire him if they want. He'll just be a HC with another team. And they'll still have Macciocia.

Suits was talking in game one about Van Zyl and Hughes being two of the best all time at their respective positions. Hughes, sure but he was talking like Van Zyl was the greatest tackle of all time ignoring Bryant.

  38. I dont think it's just about that though. I'd imagine, your hope is you get new people out to the game - and hope these new folks enjoy the game and enjoy the team. I'd say the manner in which BC won last night was every bit as important. Get those new folks to want to come to more games - even if it was the concert that brought them there initially. May the overall profit for last night be slim? Sure. But maybe you've gained a few thousand or so fans from your on field display last night that they'll want to keep on coming back. That's where the big picture is, IMO.

  41. During one of the games, probably season opener, Milt said Danny Maccioca wants Khari's job. Then he said "there. I said it" bad situation for Khari.

  42. Dobson could start on a few teams pretty easy and improve them. He’s 100% ready to at least take over Eli’s 6th ol heavy package role. We need earth movers for the tight and short yardage package. from the preseason game I think he could start at guard in this league and he one of the best run blockers. I would think the 8th ni is to get an extra di so we can run two imp back up des for jj and still have both sayles and walker to rotate at dt. But we could start an imp at s and go with the ni dbs instead of Houston as a di. that’s what I suspect too though Dobson had a few starts at c in college last year. He started every where but LT. I suspect the concern is making the jump to the pros and the yard off the ball adjustment while playing out of his natural position. He could be a center long term if they groom him for it. His recognition and pick up are tremendous of course he’s also incredibly quick and explosive.

  43. Checked out the highlights and I gotta say that last pass by Brown was real legit... Perfectly placed just barely behind Ellingson who was basically only open for a pass thrown behind him.

  44. How does that play go if they call the headshot? Technically it was after the fumble but before Ott recovery so it would cancel the turnover right? I was pretty shocked the penalty didn't get called.. especially since it was so obvious that he took a headshot with his helmet exploding off his head

  45. The way the running game was being shut down it's no wonder Zack took off to move the sticks....Shouldn't have happened that way if our running game is up to par.....I hope we have a different plan for the rematch in Ottawa involving our running game....Don't know if we're just not getting the holes upfront ....our O Line is still solid.... orrrrrrr our backs just aren't following the blocking.....Don' know why as they watched Andrew bulling through them often enough....Hope to see a big improvement next game

  46. Wins and losses this early really don't mean much. It's a long season and things will change tremendously by the time playoffs role around. I'd just keep coaching the new guys up. After game 1, aka preseason game 3 it isn't the time to panic.

  47. I know it got discussed here last night but if you can pull a player for a headshot, why do you not assign the penalty to go with the head shot?
