it takes some real effort to have a lower approval than Jason Kenney, my stars....

  2. I wish you would stop making comments like this... yes he made a selfish decision and some people will never forgive him for it... but don't call the guy an idiot just because he made a different decision than you... you could have made exactly the same point (more effectively, in my opinion) while eliminating your first statement.

  3. Mancuso looks to have most if not all the tools: good arm, goes through his reads quickly, good size and I like that he is a threat to run- keeps the opposing defence on their toes. If he can pick up the 3-down game quickly, he might be a darned good Streveler clone.

  4. Hardrick is 32. He's not the LT of the future here. I also don't expect Gray to play much past his 30th birthday, he's very much year-to-year. Enjoy the great team we have, worry about the future later.

  5. Yesterday... Possibly the most underrated coach in cfl history. I get why Wally and The Don get all the love, but Grant should be in the convo for greatest CFL coach ever...

  7. I was pretty sure he'd be back, thought they might've been hard balling him but it doesn't look good for eli. Only ever an injury away from a call. I'm pretty darn high on Eli, dobson is a bit different but not any lesser a player. Eli is a natural C who mauls guys 1 on 1 at G. Dobson is natural guard with the versatility to play 4 spots on the OL, partly due to his beyond elite athleticism, but also his footwork is way beyond what you expect from a natural guard. Especially a pro rookie NI G. Dobson could start games for us this year at G. At the very least I'd pencil him in as a slam dunk for 6th ol. I think he's drastically more suited to playing G than Gray and could take his spot in camp, but the veteran favor is really hard to over come. Long term I think the future is Gray at RT, Dobson at RG and Yoshi at LT when Stanley gets tired of winning Most Outstanding Linemen. If that future also includes Desjarlais back at his guard spot and Couture at C, the OL will stay elite for years to come.

  8. 100 percent agree … getting tired of the stuff like this and the “Walmart greeter” commentary as well. It’s not 1937 anymore Iso, time to grow up a bit.

  10. Wow .....from last tweet o'shea quote on Deatrick Nichols: "he was extremely humble with the idea he was going to learn as much as he could and take those opportunities to learn, listen, figure it out and not take that for granted. “He’s an unbelievable football player and super smart. I thought he was a terrific learner last year.”

  12. Your comment won't change my opinion. This has nothing to do with forgiveness. If it was a legit health issue with Eli for not getting vaxxed then my opinion would be different. However, looks like it wasn't. Just that he simply refused to get the jab & it affected our depth on the OL for the Grey Cup. Luckily, there were no injuries in the playoffs or GC. . You only have to look at the Bomber organization & see how they feel. Seems like he was quietly released. If they weren't upset over what happened then I'm certain that he'd be back. He's gone. A free agent. He hasn't signed anywhere. The Bombers don't seem to want him back. That says it all. We all make choices & we have to accept the consequences.

  15. again, I'm ignorant and admittedly know nothing, but in my head, it seems like it would be easier to move the LG outside than it would be for the RT to go all the way across, but maybe I'm over thinking it...

To some racism is a badge of honour either that or America has some real stupid elected leaders. Probably both

  17. Possibly. But I wouldn't be surprised if they continue with 2 Americans at the tackle positions. Especially if they continue to start Canadians at running back.

  18. Not in polish certainly but Dobson is far better suited and built for inside play and gray for out side. I wouldn’t be surprised to see goal line package at the start of the year feature dobson at grays guard spot as gray moves outside of yoshi to the 6th ol spot.

  23. I know players don't stay on teams because they're nice or whatno, just watched the video of Mourtada. Sounds like a good guy, sounds like he put serious work in the off season and I'm actually pulling for him. That being said, this I feel would be his end if the season goes like last after having a full off season to train instead of being thrown in halfway through the season.

  25. A lot to like about the guy. He throws 50 yard moon shots to his wr over the shoulder hitting them in stride. Great down field arm strength touch and accuracy. But when he's throwing short to intermediate he isn't trying to murder his wrs. The ability to take some velocity off his passes in that range is a big indicator of high level touch, and football IQ. He hits some crazy tight window passes in all ranges. And he does it both in the pocket and on the run. He puts the balls into good positions for his wrs to catch 50/50 balls more than 50% of the time, but also hit them in stride. For a dual threat qb, the ability to throw on the run, run the option, and keep the pass option open as long as possible when scrambling by keeping their eyes down field is huge. You don't often see a guy who is a real running threat, who can throw on the run, and doesn't turn off the passers brain when scrambling. Very much a streveler clone in how tough he runs, and the top speed. When at stride he looks like a wr running not a qb. And he doesn't have a glaring weakness. Quick release and strong arm, great touch and accuracy great head on his shoulders.

  27. You won't get any argument about that from me. Grant won 102 regular season games & 4 out of 6 Grey Cups. Most younger CFL fans & media probably don't know that much about him. It was decades before their time. Another coach that barely gets a mention is Frank Clair who won 3 in Ottawa & I believe another one or two in Toronto before coaching in Ottawa. Or Frank "Pop" Ivy who won 3 Grey Cups in a row in Edmonton in the 50's. Hugh Campbell, Wally, Matthews, Bud Grant & Frank Clair are my Top 5.

  29. I think they will do that until either the wheels fall off one or Bryant gets bored of being the best ol in cfl history. the right vs left side pass rush isn’t nearly the big difference it used to be. Especially in the cfl with out a te and with qbs in the pistol or shot gun for 85 or 90 % of snaps. He is a bit of an odd duck. Struggled at guard but excelled at rt. We also have a couple really good imp tackles right now. I imagine they will try to keep one or two on the pr but that only lasts soo long.

  33. They wanted to cheap out at qb so they could strengthen other areas. It's a gamble that could pay off or really backfire for the Lions. If O'Rourke isn't the answer, a lot of dominos on that team willstart to fall. Not to mention the fact that if O'Rourke does play well then he'll have to be paid which means some players will be gone. Even if he doesn't play well & is rteplaced by a veteran CFL qb he'll still have to be paid & they'll have the same problem. Not the best way to manage the salary cap.

  36. https://3downnation.com/2022/05/20/riders-roster-cutdown-deadline-set-three-days-later-than-any-other-team-following-cfl-schedule-change/ Riders get a later cut down date than any one. I would rather see every one get a pushed back cut down day out side of alberta. But honestly we don't hesitate to make cuts just announce them. And the riders will just hide 100 guys on the IR and suspended list any way.

  38. Related: If anyone's looking for a good CFL read, Ed Willes has a really fantastic book about the US expansion era of the CFL called "Border Wars and Endzones" that's available on Amazon and other places. Really fun read about a crazy time in CFL history...
