  1. Truth of the matter is that there's a certain amount of people that love the Canadian game and will love the teams and the league no matter what. Theres an awful lot of people people that like to watch sports because of the social aspect. For that it's all about marketing and the CFL has done a piss poor job of it

  2. Preach. Look at the Rum Hut. Are they even watching the game or are they having a party? Huge win for the Bombers. Let them party!

  3. Do they have some kind of study or research in which they spoke with non CFL fans in Canada who said "I would only watch if it were 4 downs" Because this sounds like a non existent issue? I know from my circle of friends/acquaintances is that the reason they don't watch CFL is because they don't like football at all OR they feel that the quality of football is significantly lower then the NFL and/or they only have time to follow one league. I've never had a conversation with anyone saying "I sure wish CFL was 4 downs".

  6. Is it up to the CFL to market it or is it up to the teams themselves to do it? Bombers draw well, why? It's not just cuz we are winning. It's because the Bombers go out in the community and do things... billboards etc, it wasn't long ago that we were kind of the joke of the league and now we are the premier destination really. It's not just cuz of winning. Toronto especially needs ppl in charge who actually care about football and not just use it as basically a tax write off

  7. But in the CFL can it survive a few years without the diehards?

  8. I find you get what you pay for. Wendy's and A&W are a bit pricier but so is the quality, IMO.

Yes, they have that Chester Fried Chicken - definitely decent stuff.

  10. Why not just make our field smaller and move the goalpost back? And oh yeah just cheap American player's that can't play in the NFL but at least can bide their time in our identical game till they get back to the show???🤮

I don't live in the city, but I will try it out when I can. I also like A & W coupons, in spite of their misleading 'health' advertising. Love FG beer - our local store in Clandeboye carries it - always pick up a 6 pack with my scotch.

+1 for Sals. I've been mostly brewing my own lately, but I used to buy Red Roof lager frequently. The box comes full of Sals coupons which make the food really cheap. I've enjoyed both the food and the beer. Beer is brewed by Fort Garry. Nips are my usual go-to at the stadium as well.

  13. Not sure how many would quit watching altogether. But on the other side of the coin I can't really see how 4 downs brings in more viewers. People who like the NFL and see the CFL as inferior are not going to start watching if it goes to 4 downs. They'll think it's not worth their time regardless. There's nothing wrong with the wide open Canadian game. Rule changes aren't going to make the CFL more popular.

  14. I can say that if the CFL moves to four downs, I'm done. That's not CFL football and I have no interest in the NFL or the NFL lite leagues. I suspect that there are a lot more like me than you might be thinking.

Thankfully non sump-pump area here but weeping tile drains to main hole in laundry room were all going and that’s a rare thing. Usually 2 maybe 3 most.

  16. Just came across this thread that recounts the battle of Kyiv. It's pretty good information in the early days of figuring out what happened. It is from the bias of Ukrainian support, just to be transparent, also- his Twitter feed is absolute dogshit, this thread is however pretty good. I am sure much more is going to come out in the future about this battle, but in the early days- this is quite an informative thread.

Best quick serve coffee there is. If my travel mug from home gets empty and I need another I will drive past every other until a McD’s. If you are in the city hit up a Sals. They have some coupons right now that make it cheaper than McD’s and much better food. I do agree that McD’s are the best quick serve fries(when fresh and hot).

  26. Regardless of origin, Hansen is a big time component of the last 2 championship seasons. As a valued teammate/team member, there is no way the league should be dictating his wage. It’s OK to throw a gazillion dollars at the Lawlers and Dukes of the league but Thiadric can’t get a bump? Bullshit!

  31. Ottawa, as well, have cultivated a gaje day experience. A lot of teams have **** all. Calgary has some tailgating that's fun before the game but that's about it. Combined with the worst stadium in the league and you're not doing enough. Bombers are the the high bar of the league in every single way right now.

On the other hand, Trump is still in the news every day. the big media in the states got him elected, cause his stupidity makes them money. still going on. same with marorjie. The stupider she is, the more famous she becomes. This works these days. And constant lying is now completely acceptable in the USA. Non issue. Trump " normalized" brazen lying. The harm that man has caused is astounding. side note..... marge is ugly as hell. Talk about your horse face. Uggggggly Republicans are down to 2 qualifications formoffice. 1. white skin. 2. hate blacks, mexicans, and gays. thats it. I mean last election.... lol.... republicans had no platform. 😂 Also... are republican men going to have show pictures of their tanned testicles, now that trumps go to media man has recommended it? circling drain. My daily vent. Lol. dont feel better though.

  35. Last year they were talking about how tough the secondary would have it losing rose and Sayles. Wound up dominant anyway. That's what good teams do. Replace good players with other good players.

  36. I recommend subscribing to A & W coupons - you get them in your inbox. Very good deals - eg. 2 teen combos for $14.99 Edited: 2 combos are now $14.99 - still under $20 for two people.

  37. When soimeone like Cody Fajardo says he's prepared to let it all be on him after he criticized players & coaches on more than one occasion last year, it means he isn't prepared to let it fall on his shoulders. Leaders lead ny example. Talk is cheap.

    Game 78 : @ Carolina

upside to that we would have Buff on the team, downside no Ehlers, Kconn or Helle oh wait we had Helle on the Moose wasn't playing yet, with Pav basically being in the middle of the diagram considering he was having his best season ever....and didn't have a better one after that

When they switched to the Arabica beans back around 2004, everything changed. They immediately outpaced Tim's and not much had changed since. I don't mind Tim's but McDs is really good coffee.

  45. I read stuff awhile back that this was going to be the least contentious CBA negotiation ever, because they were on very friendly terms before it even began. Of course, this can all change very quickly, but so far seems to be living up to the billing. I am sofa king pumped for the upcoming season. Talked with Carol about a 3-game flex pack of season tickets this week. Very very very very excited about this. Flying home for the Opener, will be home on holidays for the Aug 25 game vs Cgy, and then flying home again for Banjo Bowl. Going to be an amazing summer for a 3-peat....

  46. Hansen isn't the worst player on the team. He's on the teams and he's in the D rotation. He's basically an extra DI & should be paid as such.

  47. They should be able to do both, it's a shame the CFL or the Stamps couldn't or wouldn't step up. The Bombers just announced a $100k donation to local football AND are trying to make Hansen the highest paid global in the league but the league is so eager to shoot itself in the foot when it comes to mandatory minimal salaries for globals. I don't understand their position on this salary thing.
