I don’t think we can do it right now but if or when god forbid Zach gets roughed up, I’d trade a first and a roster player for Dru. I think Dru is a really good quarterback and he’s been absolutely left out to dry in Ottawa.

One series for Zach with one starting receiver through two games..... Not what I'd love to see.

A preseason game is a chance to put out some more recent film. There's certain positions where you need to see that. But it's just part of the evaluation.
It's not about results either, it's about seeing what you're like when you line up against other guys that are trying to stop you. Remember Josh Bishop (a receiver we had in TC) that had a few long catches but was then cut and he went on to trash the team (fair or not), sign with the Argos (I think) and generally did nothing after that? Just because a DB blew a coverage does not make you the next big receiver.

I doubt it. I mean. I’m sure it will play a role but I don’t think dudes necessarily make teams based just on a pre season game or 2. I think coaches generally have a good idea going into game 2 who is and isn’t making it and I think the game either confirms their original thoughts or maybe makes them think a bit but in the end if dude sucks all week at practice but goes off game time well, that’s a decision isn’t it. Just seems from a fan perspective game 2 is more starters get the first half then its guys who will make the team playing with lots of guys who won’t and then finally in the 4th it’s those guys that prob stood out the most that you want another look at but by then your opponent is playing their cuts also.
Logically tho the Canadian QB who has never played a pro game before except nfl pre season is likely gonna need some time to develop over a guy who was league mvp of the UFL recently but I mean until or if Zach gets hurt, who is QB 2 and 3 don’t matter cuz it’s Zach Taylor and BP regardless like those are the 3 QBs and until Zach gets hurt it don’t matter who 2 or 3 is
The RB last year was the pre season star. Cut weeks later now working for the man.

Brady wasn't getting a lot either. Sask is pretty good at mucking up the middle.
Certainly isn't going to improve much over the course of this season. He did make some nice throws down field into tight spots. Probably speaks to his accuracy and quick decisions more than anything.
