Stop pandering to their tantrums. Tell em to sit down and shut up while the grown ups are talking. Sick and tired of 15-20% of the population trying to hold the rest of us hostage to their backasswards views.

  3. There was an article on cfl.ca recently where Stove mentioned he sent out a group message, before he signed with BC, telling everybody(teammates and staff) how much he appreciated them all.

  5. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/TJ-Simmons-WR-WestVirginia Sounds like exactly our prototypical wr. 4.59 at the combine, 4.55 pro day, fast time of 4.46. 10' broad jump, 32" vert, 13 reps. Not an insane athlete, but a tremendously polished well balanced athlete. Transferred from the crimson tide to WVU which is still a good school. 4 star player out of high school top 5 in alabama, cut his teeth in college playing teams which is always great to see in an imp wr. He was suspended once for violating covid rules with a bunch of team mates. Tyrique Mcghee was a guy the rams really liked, but was suspended twice in a short period of time. Once for PEDs once for stimulants. He was a 3 star prospect who immediately became a starting DB.

According to things being said in various videos, a combination of social media and the convoy organizers had convinced most of the protestors that: 1. The police are on their side 2. Most of Canada agrees with them 3. That they just needed to 'hold the line' To me, they seem shocked to discover that this is not the case.

  11. The problem is, it’s not even a side. It’s drivel like a toddler walking around wanting to do whatever they want and then throw a temper tantrum when the parent demonstrates there are consequences to the choices they make that are affecting other people. Different sides to an argument include many many examples but not this one.

  12. Yeah Its a little surprising, but he is very young (iirc just turned 25 and wouldve started this year in the nfl if not suspended). Maybe they feel he just needs a second chance? I believe we had him on the neg list since college I'm sure they have his character well scouted. He's very much lawler esq physically. He does show a lot of YAC ability though, and is a down field guy. A lot of over the middle catches with out breaking stride. With that and the blocking, he's got some similarities to darvin adams too. Doesn't have the top speed of adams but has tremendous balance and body control. With the ball in his hands he looks like a KR or a rb, soo much that he got some jet sweet stuff in college. Could be a boundary wr, or a SB. With his route running and willingness to play over the middle if he can master the waggle he'd be dynamite in the slot. Generally it takes a year or two for rookie wrs to find their stride but he has as good a chance as any imp wr. Simmons, Jackson, and Mcknight should have a great battle in camp.

Right - some Police probably did support them, but when their boss tells them to do tbeir job, they have to go do it. Unlike the protestors who refused to leave their trucks. Respect for authority seems to be a concept that is lost on them.

  28. Sports journalists cherry picking juicy tantalizing soundbites is nothing new. I'm sure at some point Andrew Harris has fondly reminisced about his coaches teammates and fans but that isn't a very juicy headline or tweet next to 'the Bombers made a mistake'. Likewise, Kenny Lawler has surely praised the people around him for helping him get where he is now but we love to focus on how 'he' won the cup. In a lengthy nuanced conversation with sports journalists a player might get 5-6 of their boldest statements show up in print. Usually quoted directly, usually without full context. Not that I care very deeply about how someone not on our team feels about our team anyhow. These sort of disputes get settled in time, on the field.

  30. For a pure cfl rookie he did really well. Far better than McGuire with much less. At this point he's a good 2 to 3 qb in the cfl.

  31. As far as I'm concerned Harris is and will always be a bomber. When he retires this whole mess will be forgotten and I can't wait to see his name go up on the ring. I don't think that or him going into the hall as a bomber changes. What happened between him and the mafia stays between them imo. It was time to move on. With the money required go retain augustine and Brady plus at this point in their progression they are ready to start and need significant reps. This is going to be the best position battle in camp if both stay healthy. Hoping that a dual back rotation wins out early on. If Harris came back for a cheap deal it'd have been great for this year but hurt us in the long run. We'd probably lose borsa hurt the development of Brady and auggy and still leave us with a very expensive back field.

And - if they want a long haul job - how about BC to Toronto?
    1 point
  33. Yup not really an option other than hopefully their loud drivel once again becomes white noise and they peter themselves out and run out of money. I saw this tweet from a Surgeon that was perfect. He goes I'm tired of washing my hands before surgery. Not going to do it anymore. If you get an infection, not my problem. So when I see placards that say no mandates, freedom of choice it confuses me. Okay no mandates, freedom of choice for anything (see Surgeon above) or no mandates only for things that you want to say no to regardless of how it helps us collectively and pay no consequences because of that choice?

Gardwine is running ads for truckers every morning on CJOB. They make a point of "saying without saying " that they can still use unvaccinated truckers. When this whole thing started I said that it was all BS. I seriously could find a job for any competent trucker vaccinated or not in an hour. That's not an exaggeration.

  36. Maybe Harris should have used that motivation and drive last yr a bit more...and then when asked to prove to the Bombers that he was healthy and still had it when they asked and secure a deal he felt wasn't a slap in the face....instead of pouting about it and acting like he was disrespected...put your money where yer Yap is if u truly wanna be here ..that's my take He did and gave a lot to the team...not denying that..but only after he had a bit of a sit down scolding when he first got back here...we will be fine and from sounds of a lot of the things I hear..and some other stuff coming out....he isn't really the heartbeat of the team and what made it and the locker room tick....that's all still here ...we will be fine and I bet u the game Toronto has against us that defense is gonna step it up to shut him down ..and shut him up

  41. Steven Jyles?? Wow, talk about stretching your point.. He was never a starting qb & never would be. He was nothing but a career backup. I like Nicholls & will never say anything bad about him as he played with a lot of courage. He fit LaPo's style of offense. Checkdowns & passing to Harris. He did a lot of horizontal short passing but not a lot of vertical passing. With Matt's average arm & later on his lack of mobility it was an offense where getting rid of the ball quickly was Job 1. How many times did we as a fan base found it frustrating that we'd need 7 yards for a first down & Nichols would throw a slant for four? He did this constantly & it drove us all crazy. How many times did LaPo sit on a 10 point lead in the second half because he was afraid to lose? He didn't play to win as he was very conservative. We didn't see much of that under Buck Pierce & qb Zach Collaros. The same personnel last season but a different outcome. That was Pierce vs LaPo. Most of us never want to see LaPo calling plays as an OC for the Bombers again.

In other Pat King news: he claimed that Honeymoon Suite, Kim Mitchell, and Platinum Blonde were playing the occupation mainstage on the weekend. But alas... I would have been very sad if Kim Mitchell had played to the cracker barrel. the song is "go for soda", not "go for the imaginary grievance politics of the petit bourgeois." and hey Platinum Blonde is recording new material. I came across this quote today in the Guardian. It was in reference to the Epstein/Maxwell/ Prince Andrew affair but I feel it holds true for Trump, many other Trump style politicians , many of today's elite rich , ....... ” Could it be that when you grow up in a tiny bubble of rich, protected, privileged, narcissist- and sociopath-heavy elitists, certain human traits such as empathy, conscience and morality are not as fully nurtured as they might be? Discuss over champagne and little people’s tears.
