Good to see we are not rushing ZC back out like years past. Let his neck heal up 100%. Brown against Ottawa is just too good of a CFL story to not happen.

Of all th new QB's the last 2..3 yrs Powell showed the most in limited time, and you could see from his games he knew what was going on...was cool and poised in pocket...could make all the throws...just needed reps...Kinda like how Dru looked with us after his 1st yr...Powell looked better actually his rookie yr Ford, thats not the ideal backup and his yrs now in league.....we seen his peak...not a smart move....Coulda had their Qb in waiting signed for same or similar money and be in a way better spot of they signed Ezequiel Powell...Thats his name correct? 😁 Desperate teams will make bad reades...or ones they would have gave less if circumstances were different....If they are really tanking and its cause they dont have a legit vet QB...Anything can happen....I'd start Dru this week too even if ZC was close...to see if the one game wasnt an abberation and if he just works here as a legit QB1....I have zero doubts in him just from the eye test last week watching him pre snap...then navigate the pocket and the ease and confidence in his throws....and his general calm demeanor ZC in same system looks almost always panicked and rushed....and at times his throws are from real bad mechanics and set up...cause he more worried about getting ball away in self preservation than letting things really develop

If you have a neck injury from a hit, you can damn near bet that you also have a concussion. If you have a history of recurring concussions, 100% got one. In jiujitsu, they have a saying: everything above the shoulders is the head. Thats why the targeting are for high hits are shoulders down vs neck up. 100%.

Not an expert but if you get hit unexpectedly from behind, your neck moves, your head is attached, you brain comes along for the ride and rattles in your skull. So yeah.

Suggesting otherwise flies in the face of what we know about human beings. Not everyone has the same strength/weaknesses. To suggest that some people aren't more prone to injuries would be suggesting we are all built equal. We are not. I am certainly not giving Dru Brown the injury prone designation, but I am saying with the type of injury and the way it was sustained, the Bombers need to proceed with caution until it is established this was just bad luck.

I write this with conviction based on MOS’s approach to certain players he loves and adores, there is absolutely no chance that ZC loses his starting job until ZC decides he no longer wants it.

You can be concussed with no head impact whatsoever... If your body is suddenly stopped with force...your brain doesn't stop, but slams into your skull with force and speed you were moving. Thats why the use of those foam helmet covers is pointless...unless you get a direct and sever head shot correct...or an actual head shot....momentum of brain moving inside skull and slamming around is the main culprit....a guy running and getting a totally clean shot to the chest with a shoulder, stopping him cold can get you concussed...even without head hitting turf when the guy hits the ground

Massive upgrade even if he is only a 80% of what he was at his best. And for a guy who just hit 30, I bet he is much better than that.

With ZC, is it really his neck or is it a concussion? Just musing out loud. I agree with @GCn20 point that its nice we're not rushing him back and Dru's return to Ottawa is a good story.

The injury prone thing really in my opinion sums up Booch thinking in several areas... And it really a competitive athlete mentality... Do the work you won't get hurt as readily. Similar to the idea that guys with God given talent will just make it work. It stems from I think the belief that everyone is going to work as hard as you therefore the more natural talent the better. It's super common in the sporting world and why some players with gobs of talent get a million chances even if they can't translate that into the field. But I think the overall impact is far more nuanced than that... And yes injury prone is a real thing. Some people just have bad luck, defective factory parts or put themselves in situations where they're getting hurt.

I think if our defence plays like they did against Toronto we have a good shot at a home playoff game.

I never said Brown's genetics were the cause of his injuries. It just stands to reason that the genetic makeup of some people will make them more resilient to injuries. Can you tell the difference as to what was the cause of an injury? No. But over the course of a career you can make some assumptions if you see patterns. Could be bad luck, could be genetics, but some people are just more brittle.

You would be surprised, a never has been. Drew Willy, who was injured, shell shocked from the beating he took in Winnipeg got a first round pick, third round pick, and an all star DB (TJ Heath) never under estimate what a gm will do to salvage a season. Zach at least gives Hamilton a chance, they are doing absolutely nothing with what they have right now.

You're pretty hung up on a guy who hasn't accomplished much of anything in the CFL. Fact is the tican'ts went and signed Ford as a backup.... That they don't seem to embrace that is the issue here.

Lawler is a good team mate when things are going well for Kenny lawler. When it’s not, I’m not sure he is.

I will say that when I take the Oxycodin for pain it makes me feel drunk. So, if I reacted the way I did it wasn't intentional.

and he has been pretty disruptive and created way more pressures this yr, a thing to note as well...knockdowns are not as prevalent, but that's also because he doesn't have to jab step...then drop back looking for it...he's actually allowed to play DE Adding Reese tho been huge....he has to take a lot of attention from olines and is getting better each game, so it's freeing guys up from being doubled up on...Dude is lightning fast Speaking of which...on the Hick's run right after the Pokey fumble...Smith came from the opposite side of center after Jones lost contain and was beat wide and tracked him down from behind to make the tackle....and Hicks isnt a slow back....Great recognition and flow/angle to ball carrier...blew right by Jones to make tackle...Kid should be the fulltime WIL Another of my favs from that game...on the MCI run in the 2nd quarter...BO lead blocking and knocking the snot outta the DB...I wanna see that play too called more often with MCI with speed around the edge...one lil seam and he's busting big yards, and with his power anyway will 9 times outta 10 be positive yardage

So, I am probably being affected by the pain meds in some ways which would account for why I called Powell Kevin instead of Taylor. I'm going to be bed ridden for the next 8-10 weeks minimum which is depressing because my summer is over. We had planned on takin g a trip along the Oregon coast in August that i was looking forward to. At least I made it to Kelowna for the CFL game. So, I am struggling right now. Although, I'm not looking for sympathy.

Hendrix has stunk since the Argos didn't pay him the first time. Not a fan of Fletcher though. We need someone who can fire off and not get moved around so easily. But seems like we want to expand the Willie J basketball defense strategy rather than pressure and fill gaps. Much better run stopping the past few weeks with a lot more Kornelson and Lawson or 30 front with one of them head up on 1st downs. I'd honestly pop Jenkins inside because he just seems a little slower this year but has that explosive first step. Might be impactful.

These types of games always give me high anxiety especially this one specifically with the Dru Brown situation. Ottawa, who are you know something like 0 and 100, get their first W off JM’s career day is something I do not want to experience. Let’s take care of business and keep Dinwiddie at the goose egg please and thank you.

BC has picked up Sayles and Hendrix was due an off-season bonus so that played a big part in his release there.

Yep, there doesn't have to be any contact to the head (from the tackle or from him hitting the ground) for there to be a concussion.

I like the optimism that we’re not rushing ZC back, and I hope that’s the case, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was back in there on Sunday and maybe not quite ready. We’ve seen this movie before. Concussions would hopefully be the exception, but…..

Yes. I heard or read somewhere that you can have concussions in/via your neck... So it's all connected.

its his noodle...his immediate reaction prone on the turf was not one of a neck issue...he was stunned Brown vs Ott....with a game under his belt...a week of prep/practice....gotta love it He is chill and mild mannered...but you damn well he is gonna be major revved up to make a statement...and you know his offensive teamates are gonna go that extra mile for him in that game I can see this being one of our better offensive outputs of the yr coming up...And I bet he gets major cheers from the Ott crowd while doing it just to stick it to Dinwiddie...those fans cant be happy

I actually kinda liked what I saw...and the small shift in player usage...with I think more to come Smith is just getting better and basically played starters reps last game, so when Woodbey is available I can see it allowing us to likely bump Wilson off the roster....or at the least just a role as a DA...Dixon as well will upgrade Fletcher, who has gotten better but still is just adequate at best...we shouldn't settle for adequate Williams as well is really coming into his own and actually brings some actual physicality to the DB's....Still willing to give Nichols benefit of the doubt for now...Is he trying to do too much?...Or is he better suited now to come in at the role we use Kelly...which doesn't need to be a Canadian. Sure he had a better game last week but is still a huge liability out there and not needed. Kramdi too...he is more a liability than an asset...Don't care how smart they say he is...if he that smart let him coach then. To yank Griffin from SAM just to satisfy playing Kramdi would weaken us overall. Griffin has been one our best defenders consistently all yr. Pieces are there...some tweaking needs to be done tho but the defence will round out and be our backbone I think But we cant let Osh waste a valuable DA spot on a redundant player at LB who never saw the field last game...of all his bone headed moves, that one is right at the top...like wtf smarten the eff up.

Hamilton is cooked without BLM. The reality is their 1st rd pick would have to be involved in a hypothetical Zach trade, it would be prob 1st plus roster player. Debate who that roster player would be but if in some glitch world where we traded Zach, after trading our own 1st for a QB, we definitely getting a 1st back.

A week or so after I was born, portage had its hottest day on record. I was a week old and in the water at the lake. I think that day was mid 40s humidex. Sunday was so bad here, I got home, got off the plane and holy moly, the wall of heat was insane.

We headed for Grand Beach. I went to Alberta for the summer of 1988 and came back in late August to find the ground was dried up so hard that I couldn't even till it with a garden tiller. That was crazy! Huge cracks in the ground. Reminded me of the stories I had heard from the old timers about the 1930's and how dry it was. Whatever did grow that year was consumed by hordes of grasshoppers. Yikes, now I sound like an old-timer lol....

Sorry but there is such a thing as injury prone. Bad luck might be part of it but some guys are more durable than others. Anyone not worried about either of our top 2 guys staying healthy are fooling themselves. Brown missed half the season last year. That could very well be a one off, but it would be reckless to not have him re-establish his durability for the remainder of the season given his backup would be a guy not ready to be a starter. We literally pummeled Dinwiddie for doing the exact same thing guys are proposing we should do...and he had much more valid reasons to do it. We traded for Brown so we could have a deep and experienced QB room..now some guys want to blow it up and go right back to square one. SMH. Dont make decisions based on a potential injury? At most positions..yea...at QB to not do so is irresponsible roster management of the highest order. When TE is ready things can change, right now it would be one of the most reckless roster decisions we could make.

One of the dumbest BS calls I’ve witnessed. Not because of the severity of the call, but how it so blatantly contradicted video evidence. We’ve seen incompletions be ruled catches, of course… but for the CC to call down for -that- and get it ludicrously wrong… it’d be hilarious if it wasn’t so Toronto biased.

I can’t listen to this panel at all, I stopped watching them pregame, halftime and postgame. It’s cringe, loud and at times obnoxious.
