Oh have I got some news for you...

Adding Jake Ceresna to the DL changes the complexion of that unit and the D so much. Hard not to be stoked to see what they can do.

Feel really good about this year. Not sure if we'll win tonight but that won't change how I feel about the overall picture. I really like the improvements on D and having a legit OC and the two best offensive tackles in the should be enough for a pretty significantly improved offence.

The possibility of a fully functional DLine rotation alone, is cause for celebration. Make it happen Coach Thomas!

Brother, can you please just relax on this obsession that you have with Booch? I don't know if you are aware this is what is happening, but here's how literally everyone else sees these conversations going. Goalie (completely unprovoked): "BOOCH THIS BOOCH THAT Booch is so annoying" followed by a strange multi paragraph rant Booch (in response): "I mean, in response to what you said, I actually was kind of proven right on that particular point" Goalie (in response): "Lighten the **** up dude" It's game day of the season opener, it's been a long off-season, we all have our faults but for crying out loud, just grow up and enjoy today for what it is. The start of the Bomber season. Go Blue.

Some of those games were like a football to the groin.

Condell was 4-14 with the Argos the year after Ricky Ray retired where they trotted out McLeod Bethel-Thompson, Dakota Prukop and James Franklin as their quarterbacks. He went 8-10 with Hamilton the year after Masoli left with two prior Grey Cup visits and they had Dane Evans (who we broke) and Matt Shiltz as their quarterbacks, then went 8-10 again the next year after they brought Bo to town and he only played a third of the season. Then he went 4-14 last year with Dru Brown and the QB carousel in Ottawa. Nowhere near as bad as JBR made it sound.

True but let’s win by a 100 and call it a day.

I'm really hoping the extra American on the OL makes up for one less American with the receivers... we all know this offense thrives on Brady rolling and Zach having time to operate... a top notch OL dramatically helps both of those things...

Only three games for each of the first two weeks of the season seems like an odd scheduling choice, no? We don't even need a guru. Barely competent might have got us back to the Grey Cup last year.

It's very possibly hopium but I have one whole complaint about the defense so I'm pretty excited about what that could look like this year. I like the pieces we brought in - Jenkins is a monster physical presence on the edge and I think it's crazy to think about the idea that on any given snap, you might be a tackle lining up against either Willie, Jake or Kydran. That's a lot of different tools in the toolbox to contend with. Another year of Woodbey is something I'm excited about, he gives me a lot of Adarius Pickett (with an extra 25 pounds) vibes and I genuinely think he could be an all-star on the back of a ton of splash playmaking. Our secondary seems like it's got the potential to be pretty exciting and I do like that we have a ton of versatility in all three levels. Our offense both scares and bores the hell out of me. I know that we've got big pieces (Brady, White, Demski and Pokey) but we have so many questions - the Broxton to RT is a move that I don't think we discuss enough as being risky, rookie American center could be less than ideal, our depth is about as thin as thin gets, our utility players seem like there's a good shot they're incredibly useless - so I'm just not sure how that all shakes out. I trust in Condell but I'm whelmed currently. Maybe we see Brady get 1800 yards all purpose and White/Pokey both go for 1000 while Demski/Nield provide 700-800 each but I just don't know if I see it.

With significant changes on the line this year, it may take time for the starting five to gel - However, pound Brady until that happens, and even when it does, time for more Brady ball. His usage last year by Hollywood Hogan was criminal.

I like his competitiveness too. But I don't think he'll be the best as long as Rourke is around. It's hard to ignore Alexanders W/L record, but I just don't see the same pure arm talent, and his defense got him out of a few jams last night including giving him essentially 10 points. It's close, but I'd still put Rourke above him. Give Rourke the MTL defense and the results are likely similar. I guess if you want to ignore all of Banks' production on O. Has Grant ever passed 300 yards rec in any year? Banks is far more accomplished as painful as that is for me to say

What excited me in pre season was that we were pressuring the QB. For the last two years it seemed like we had absolutely no push and no pressure on whoever we played. It will be nice to make a QB force a few throws every game.

Honestly pokey, white and demski isn't the worst group you can have.... they just gotta stay healthy. Probably see different guys stepping up in different games depending on what the other team's doing. It's just the depth is pretty nonexistent

yup first time since 2011 that Jake T. hasn't been starting. End of an era, that should have ended awhile ago lol...

I just want to see a win and a vast improvement on our anemic offense. Bryant's age does concern me and I really hope he gets pushed by Randolph. I am excited to see what Ceresna does to the D line... And I am stoked that there is no Jake Thomas on the roster.

Odd...I said Griffin should be SAM (for over 2 yrs now)...Jenkins and Dixon should be on roster...Williams looked to be the best of the DB's and likely has that spot. Said Fletcher and Reese need to be kept around somehow...and if u actually look at my posts from TC I also said that I bet they keep Mazzccua after watching a few days of camp as there something there...and we kept him too....so kind of shows you are full of **** As for previous guys I liked....Fox is playing elsewhere...Garbutt too but still hurt. Devon Adams landed a spot of defending Grey Cup Champs...so again, just cause the dear leader here cuts a guy isnt the be all end all....but keep being you

Hot Take. Zach gets hurt. We trade for Dru after giving TE a few games where he shows potential and wins 1 loses 1 wins 1 loses 1 type thing. Dru comes in and goes on a run ala Zach where we end up winning the cup in Calgary and TE like Streveler plays a pivotal role in the finals where he hits Corcoran for the winning TD on a 3rd down gamble with seconds to go. Hotter take cuz click rage bait. All players Booch endorse eventually get cut.

I'm excited.... I think the offence will be massively improved, can't overstate the impact of adding Tim White and Broxton, and the departure of Kolankowski + the demotion of Hogan... I think Zach is going to go to Tim White 10+ times tonight

Tim White will break a big one a few times per season but mostly he's a high volume, 10-15 yards per catch kinda guy. I expect ZC to go to him early and often.

Condell has as many 4-14 seasons on his record as +.500 ones. So the experience is there....but the results throughout his career have been mostly unimpressive. He's no guru. IMO our offense being in the top half of the league is going to rely on Oliviera having a 2000 yard all purpose season and that's a tough place to start from. OL should be much improved. But the lack of Canadian depth there to start with is fear inducing too. Are they eventually going to tell Younger he can't have ALL the Americans on the roster? Does Ontaria Wilson have #1 receiver in him? Looks like we have 3 #2's but no one that really strikes that big fear in anyone, all manageable if you're game planning against us. No one who is going to make the big plays no matter what.
