I don't get the fascination with Tony Jones. He's an average MLB and we're on year 3 of him and we seem to treat him like he's 2018 Biggie.

I like the idea of adding a guy like Addison to the staff. Doesn’t replace anyone, another voice in the room and without knowing anything about his personality, he’s got the type of story you’d think players can learn from and appreciate. and he was pacing as a 1000 yard receiver last year so I’m sure if we have an injury in the playoffs, he’ll be lacing them up.

Rando mcrandolpohersons' name will only be remembered if he goes else where and becomes an allstar. Almost forgot about the best part of camp, the awards! Best name, Stevie rocker. No first guy gone, because we had a pretty crazy amount of retirements pre- and mid-camp this year. Camp? who needs camp? Oladejo. Made the club from the tub, List is too long and uncertain. But most importantly, the MVP of TC, Taylor Elgersma. And for the first time in a long time, camp MVP has made the team!

Hed be pretty good, if it was a different era where every team was running 15-20 times at minimum. He can't pass rush and can't handle any coverage assignment.

He was a guest coach for us since rookie camp and I guess they like what he brought. He spent most of his career with Condell as his OC so he should be able help guys there.

I think he's solid for what he is and would be a great depth piece.... but as a starter I think he's a guy you strive to upgrade on, and I think we likely do have some better options on the team already.

I'll wait to see what we do when injuries hit first but I agree the 3NAT receiving is extremely thin. I would kick Mayala's tires if I were Walters. I would hope that we would go 3NAT OL if Nield/Demski go down. It's unfortunate that Tui couldn't win the centre job because that would have allowed us another IMP receiver.

Thanks. Yeah, I wish we had hidden Randall on the IR. I think that didn't happen because we are hiding a lot of injuries. I don't think we will see a bunch of room on the IRs to hide a guy for the whole year. Middling teams are really tough on fan bases. And it is hard to jump from mediocre to exceptional. I still see so much potential in the bones of what we have assembled. But slow starts and injuries are the biggest obstacles to succeeding with old teams. We also are soo bought in on this year, looking at what we'd have next year in scary.

My worry is that we're set up for another year where we win 9 games or so. Not truly bad but not good enough to win the Cup.

Who is our “young” core? Demski, White, Brady, Neuf, Bryant, Eli, Broxton, Willie, Ceresna, Jones, Kyrie, Nichols, Moxey, Sergio … all of these guys are closer to the end than the beginning and creeping up in age. I know 30 isn’t what it used to be in sports, but we don’t have a ton of young guys at all. We’ve got a couple.

Other than injury, I think the only chance Eli doesn't start at C is if Mos is still that enamoured with the 6th OL role. Despite or maybe because of the TE. Elsbury, I really hope his run game was hampered by not playing with the 1s enough, and that he takes a big step forward when he is in with them. His pass pro was a massive improvement over Kola, though he still wasn't what you would want or expect from an IMP interior OL. Despite being 6'6 335ish, Elsbury is about as elite an athlete as you could want. He is very likely the most athletic guy on the team this year. 1.69 10-yard time is insane. Most of his agility/explosive measurables would've been tops or close to it for his position in the NFL draft. He needs to translate that, though. Especially in the run game.

The offence will be better from addition by subtraction. How that will translate to points scored is up in the air. Never know with a new OC/system. Hasn't Condells teams had red zone issues? Up next is the classic, the first month of the season is an extended pre-season. Seriously though, My expectations for the offence starting the year are looooooooooow. Zach threw what 4 attempts in preseason? I don't think we had any success running the ball till like the 4th quarter of the games with MCI in. Health of Eli, Wilson, and Demski up in the air. And we sure look to be starting 3 NI wrs.

booch...ever single guy you listed outside of Augustine (And even him to a degree) have had little to no impact in this league. And even then, all of those guys were not TC cuts as rookies. They all got on to this Coaching staffs team, got opportunities to become something and they all did nothing with those opportunities. Hamilton had a better record sure...they also played Ott more and watched the GC right next the Bombers. Likewise, I'm not saying I like all the cuts. But what we see in pre-season games doesn't = all stars even if all star plays were made during those games. I'm blown away by people talking about that rookie draft pick who scored as if he's some miracle worker...any one of us could have scored there. It was a busted coverage. His 2nd TD was solid, but again...against a Rookie in what looked like man coverage. Not exactly an amazing play in my books. And to have some on here declaring a 3rd place finish or worse because of what happened? Lol...it's pre-season. A ****** rifle caught 2 passes, should he be on the team too? lol. People need to chill out. They went 1-4 in preseason games during the last 2 championship season.

To be fair the backups played BCs starters for the first couple of drives and kept the reigning MOP out of the endzone and held the best WR to what 1 catch? Then the bc backups came in along with bomber 3rd stringers/rifles/just flat out cuts.

Many holes in his game....He is a good depth/rotational piece but he is not a top full time MLB in the league We really needed to keep only one of Jones and Wilson and have them as the DA and or Nationalized Canadian, and allow Woodbey/Ayers and a new import rookie the opportunity, along with give Smith and Shay as much work as possible if not one the actual starting spots

I think Cobb is a serviceable player. I would roster 7 recs (two Cdn backups) if we’re starting three. We need more depth.

I find it interesting about the comments about fielding the same team lol our roster is built from returning players, free agent signings and the draft. Most teams aren’t looking to fill several starting spots in training camp and if they were they would be in a lot of trouble. I don’t see how we’re different than any other team in the league. Most of the opportunities come from injuries, I think we’ve done a decent job of bringing in young guys to replace veterans of the past two/three years. We were a very old team. Besides Zach Bryant/patty and Willie we have a relatively young core. None of the players I mentioned were going to be going anywhere this season. I think the team showed it can move on from players.

The bottom line for me is that Walters and O'Shea have broken faith with us fans and even though we do not know what went on behind closed doors, it seems we no longer trust them implicitly. I am willing to be proven wrong, but apart from Elgersma, we seem to be pretty much in the same situation as we were in the past 2-3 years. There is plenty of blame to spread around.

we’ve seen more then 100% turn over in scouts from 19/21 to now. even with different scouts we see the same problems. For one, it’s extremely rare that you find a top contributor from scouting at a position of need. Generally, teams excel at developing/scouting/using a couple positions and the majority of their young talent develops at positions of strength. For two, outside of extreme outlier players/positions it’s usually the 2nd year players who take massive steps. This is where roster management kills us. You could have the right guys, but not use them/keep them and each year repeat the same struggles even despite talent brought in. So who’s at fault? well the staffs have mostly rolled over. Mos, walter, and mac are the remaining common pieces. Mos’ weakness exacerbates walter’s issues. mos is 100% at fault, and walters is also 100% at fault. no splitting it. That said, it is walter’s job to mitigate and prevent compound issues like that. I will say that I feel like we’ve seen a bit of growth this year getting away from some of the issues. how much and if it’s enough, will depend on how the rosters look in the first month. I will add that the camp talent level the two years is trending in the wrong direction. And I think danny mac’s’ position is too cushy for how high he is in the org. I think we had a lot of answers at the positions of need this camp. But I think our roster direction is Atypical and risky. 3 ni wrs, 3 imp ol, defensive front etc. The only direction if this doesn’t go well is whole sale change at high level positions. We’ve put together a very strong potential roster. If our old guys stay healthy and if we play the proper young guys.

The biggest problem I see is not the money or how things are divvied up- it is how little and how poorly TSN promotes the CFL compared to hoe they treat the MLB, NBA and even the PWHL. The way the Argos and Stamps promote their teams also could stand a LOT of improvement.

They still talking of Bryan Randall. ;) And to show how little he stood out, when broski said Bailey was released my first thought was Someone bumped a post from years ago and Rasheed was let go.

he's prob a better option than any import not named Wilson or White in all honesty lol I like the add...as well as the Condell add as it seems we have learned from past and have moved on from just internally promoting even when not warranted...so kudo's to this decision yeah...agreed Mayala should be on speed dial immediately as the season hasnt even started and Demski is already questionable...guy is proven and a cfl vet so no learning curve If Eli isn't starting then its from injury...He didnt even take what...5 snaps at center did he? Elsbury was decent but not great. And if you are building your best roster you need to look at ripple effect of ratio adjusting. Elsbury eats up a import spot swaying us to this stupid start 3 Canadian receivers and we don't have the horses for that, nor the depth and to do such a move that import has to be lights out good....it also takes away the ability to add that extra import defender...say a legit DT or another tweener gy who can play inside and out...so you have a avergae center...a weaker wr core....and a leaner defence Turn that around...Start ELi who will be no worse than the pylon we had last yr....and likely after a few games settled in as one the better centers...a better wr group with 3 imports and possibly a new guy in that group that lights it up, and a deeper defense as you can add another difference maker there....And if Eli is knicked let Vibert at it, and didnt we draft this Daniels cause he was this shitkicker where we could forego using an OL in TE sets?....or so we were told One dumb move can make the offence, and the defence weaker when you look at the whole makeup of things...who wants to wager cash on if we make a smart...or dumb decision?...lol

You know what’s kinda sad but weird at the same time? People on the forum here go on about a guy like Frederickson, myself included, there’s like 50 guys we don’t mention at all so despite the narrative a guy like Frederickson actually stood out. He was noticeable bad game 1. Noticeable better game 2. Singer was consistent. The DL guys were mentioned lots. The guys they kept did stand out and outside of maybe Clinton, but honestly that’s already a log jam at linebacker, and he may have turned down a pr spot. nobody else who was let go, they didn’t stand out good or bad. They were just there. Scouting could use some upgrades tho cuz Frederickson actually stood out. Was getting balls his direction so was either read 1 or doing something right.

he is prob one of the worst in the league at his position in coverage....bar none. He'd be good in a retro 3-4 front as one the interior LB's staying in the box.... Like I said...it's collective....who do we have the last few yrs besides a few aging stars who are super impactful. Fox was more than solid inside actually...and doing nothing with an opportunity in one place, but solid and contributing in another maybe comes down to better coaching I dont look for wins in pre-season as its irrelevant....look for skill/potential and ability, and versatility/athleticism...the other parts will fall into place if you are well coached I bet outside of White/Pokey who are gonna see hella lot of volume and forced throws , that Wheatfall will put up better numbers than any other import we play....as he will likely be properly used We have a history here of not giving anyone a legit chance/opportunity until literally forced to with no other choice...and even then we repeatedly played guys who should never have been on the field. BC reciever sure...rookie...against rookies...still tho made the plays...a scrub would have dropped ball...or never even got to the right spot to make said play...maybe the wide open score he recognized something and went to the vacated area?...coulda...shoulda if he saw it....What did Daniels do to secure a spot? Better yet...what did we do for him to actually show something...nothing....and thats not his fault Feel sorry for a guy like Rocker too....got no use...no involvement in anything...we know what peterson can do...we saw it last yr...why even waste a roster spot in TC on a guy like Rocker?...what a waste of his time.

currently Ham has Augustine..Wheatfall...Fox...Hubert...Myron Mitchell of all people on their roster...all guys we cut adrift and rally have not adequately replaced another interior DT and WR...As one example also had Garbutt but he got hurt...still isnt 100 percent an I think out of football at moment. So teams find value and use in our cast offs....and ironically Ham had a better record than us, so the excuse some use that this team..or that team is garbage doesnt hold weight. Not saying all are world beaters, but all were solid and its a collective effort in the end as well.. I like a lot of what we kept.. I said if you look back I think they will keep, or should keep Mazzccua as there something there..As well as Fletcher who is multi versatile and Reese who has best get off, and were smart keeps....Sure we have a log jam of LB's....but we also have 2 long in tooth and only really need one, so keeping another younger one to develop would been the smart choice. Singer was best of a bad group of WR recruits and serves multiple roles so again a smart choice but if this plan of starting 3 Canadians is real then keeping him...Womack...and Fredrickson around but seems redundant and a waste of PR space when there zero chance to get on roster, while we have really only 3 canadians worthy of being actual starters....keep one import and load your PR with defensive guys with serious upside with the other 2 spots

Rookies/scrubs playing against each other absolutely play in to it. You think that that wide open TD from the draft pick the Bombers obviously fumbled, wasn't a busted coverage? Rookies playing rookies can make average players look like world beaters. We can say all we want about pre-season play...but if Clinton is constantly making the same mistakes in practice day in and day out should Younger ignore that because he picked off a back up QB in the preseason game? I'm just using Clinton as an example....practice reps absolutely mean something when it comes to understanding the scheme. And showing coaches you can be trusted to be where you're supposed to be. There were multiple plays last game where guys where obviously in the wrong area (because a WR was wide open, or there would just be 2 defenders doing the same thing about 3 yards apart). This happens every year. People ***** and moan about pre-season cuts and how well they played against other teams 3rd stringers. And those cuts eventually join other teams and become absolute all-stars....except they don't....they're usually never heard from again. Sure other teams have guys they're invested in and want to bring in etc etc...but if these guys were such Pre-season masters and obvious heros, they should absolutely show up somewhere again right? Like Lawler....or Grant...But that just doesn't happen as much as some want to pretend it does.

yeah...we have an aging core...we let a lot of young promise walk tho...and we need to change that. I not saying dump all yhour vets, but many canbe replaced by younger guys with upside and more skill, and not hurt you in the least outside of Clercius/Demski/Neild he is the best backup Canadian as he can play inside...outside...return...run jet sweep we go 3 national recievers...we have the worst group in league again...especially if one of Demski or Neild goes down...Clercius is already hurt, and there no guarantee Demski goes injury free...heck he didnt even make it outta camp with zero contact. Add to that the fact we know damn well Osh will play a hampered/injured Demski who will offer minimal results as well...we\'ve seen it before so not a make believe story to trash Osh....

Along the same vein - When I was having my morning coffee earlier today, I was watching the latest Handled Internally podcast that had both ZC and Gabe Wallace on it. Darren Cameron mentioned roughly 7 minutes in that Wade Miller is working on special Bomber season ticket pricing for the DAZN package (details to come at a later date), so that definitely at least made me curious what that will look like when/if that comes to fruition.

I will say this though... going from Jake to Jake at DT is going to make a tremendous difference in the effectiveness of the defense as a whole. Let's just hope the old guys aren't cooked by the time playoffs roll around

Special teams is still every 6th play in this league. You can't be ignorant enough to just look at a roster and go "hurr durr, so many linebackers." Half of those guys are special teamers. Put fullback beside 3 of their names if it makes you feel better. Having a guy with DL by his name on the roster who stands on the sideline and holds his helmet all game there just in case doesn't help us win anything. We have Gatkuoth to rotate in on the edge. I think it's fair to assume Younger has a plan to use Woodbey at 3 levels of the D. Our D is actually stacked. If people want to worry, worry about receiver and running back. Peterson looked like a stunned junior player in camp in the pre-season games. We're relying a lot on a bunch of Canadians who haven't been consistent or healthy across their careers (Nield, Cobb, Clercius).

Yeah. We find some good DBs and pretty much bugger all else.

I fear we are mostly back to the same old, same old O'Shea roster.

There's literally like 200 Aussie punters sitting by their phones in the US waiting for a gig. If we needed one here tomorrow, we could have one. Based on pre-season, there's very little point to having both Gatkuoth and Bailey active. They are both going to have same utility as 2nd and long rotational ends, with limited utility on special teams. I'm guessing they offered Bailey PR because he doesn't take a spot from anyone else Canadian or American on the PR. Would be nice to get a look at Vesterinen as an interior guy if he shakes loose from NFL Pathway Program.

I think Perkins is a legit run threat though. Kind of the ideal 3rd QB in this era, especially when the 2nd QB is also the developmental guy.

This is it. I get why the league and players like it, don't love it as a fan. I'm a guy in his late 40s whose doing well and I'm not sure I'll add DAZN. I can see a lot of people younger than me with kids, a mortgage, other bills also saying no and I think it hurts the CFL long term.
