  1. Hope it's more than a depth signing. As in Center.

  2. It’s actually so weird to me that people are worried about Jake as a positional coach lol nobody has any clue if he’s got what it takes or not and we weren’t whining when Miller got a far more important role then again Miller isn’t a slow, fat whipping boy so I guess there’s that

  3. Did you not read the O'Shea quote? He's a nice guy and people like him.

  4. I'm thinking it is the fear of dropping nice guys from the club and giving a guy a pity job because god knows why O'Shea has troubles getting rid of the dead weight.

  5. And it's been said over and over again that Jake is one of the smartest guys in the room, especially the Xs and Os... Just because he can't do the thing at the same level anymore doesn't mean he can't teach things. I have high hopes for him... Starting at a lower level assistant coach position is perfect.

  6. Maybe just maybe Kyle Walters doesn't bring Kola back taking the decision out of MOS's hands.

  8. I dont believe Logan was 100 percent still either..he deserves another camp..its good to have a proven returner as a backup if vaval is back..we seen the effects of none for a yr or so Makonzo showed that in his rookie yr..hes a legit talent..just unfortunate with injury so far in his early career FA this yr is one of our most important and vital we dont whiff pretty much since early in this regime Smart..solid signing Yeah...no sense at all with that choice..regardless how long he played..or how well hes liked

  9. He's played in 16, 18, 17 games in the last 3 seasons. As a Blue Bomber he's played in 112 out of 126 regular season games since joining us. 89% seems higher then most other guys?

  10. plus brought in some good prospects for camp, and we’ve moved on from thomas. big win in my books so far.

  12. Fine with it. I’m not sure if we’re ever going to expect him to be a starter at this point but as a depth player on the o-line I’m perfectly fine with having him back. Can’t ever have too many capable Canadian OL on the roster.

  13. well, we brought in Brown but he emerged a little too early for our convenience. And Streveler could have been QBNext except for some devastating injuries. credit to this Bomber regime that they actually brought in two quarterbacks who could win games in the CFL. Before Strev in 2018 and Brown in 2023 you have to go all the way back to Danny Mac to find a Bomber-recruited QB who didn't **** the bed when the spotlight hit them.

  14. Looks like Tui Eli was extended as per the CFL transactions page. I guess the Bombers media department has the day off today as they havent made the announcement yet.

  15. I have no idea what this means. Walters is just as likely to sign someone or let them walk? Every GM signs some guys and lets some walk. That’s how it works

  16. say what you will about Kelly, the Fred Reid game in BC will always live in my memory ... watched it on a cheap little laptop from a hotel balcony in istanbul, drinking raki. Poor Javier Glatt. I was astonished he still had a career after chasing fast Freddie around all day. Mike used to have a great avvy of Phil Hunt about to obliterate Kevin Glenn. Wonder if one could make a similar one for Jones vs Brock

  19. THIS!! I've never seen so much discussion about a positional coach period...never mind the griping. We've never once discussed the good or bad of a positional coach...not more than a couple random posts anyway. Thomas isn't going to ruin the Dline just like he isn't going to turn them into some force of nature.

  20. He also shadowed for a full yr and was a coach in training his last yr when he was on IR all yr..and also is one of the best ever ST players and was called a coach on field when he was playing JT...none of the above...and was our worst DL now for yrs...arguably in entire league...big difference...huge So who thinks 180k for 2026..185k 2027...some guaranteed in 2027...and all hard money is good value for Kramdi...or money well spent that could have gone eleswhere? Perfect example of how to throw your sms right out the window and sacrifice talent u actually could use elsewhere...christ...good job

  21. If on field talent and athleticism was the be all for coaching and football operations positions....sorry to spoil the party but Wade should then be terrible............ Honestly who cares how the guy played, he is reported to know the in and outs very well, he has been on the PA and everything that has ever come out, he is incredibly well respected by teammates opposing players and those involved with the PA, he became his own manager, he clearly has respect and known intelligence within the CFL circles.....who the heck cares if he had a great swim move, or the fastest get-off, or had speed to play off the edge...that doesn't mean he didn't witness it over a almost a decade and a half year professional career......c'mon, really because he "bulrushes" well, do some of you really think, like honestly that, that is all can teach......really.....

  22. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean you lack knowledge of it....

  23. Not that I am aware of, but I'm betting that one of O'Shea's pets will replace him and be an identical liability. If you don't know it, how can you teach it?

  24. What is crazy is that Yvensen Bernard also had 112 yards rushing in that game!

  25. Not to mention a positional coach running some drills in camp and practice and breaking down some film is a far cry from drawing up schemes and roster management that a coordinator or HC would be responsible for. A lot of hand wringing over what should be minimal impact.

  26. cmon man, I get that you like to gripe but you're just saying nonsense here. Let's look at some GOATs: Scotty Bowman didn't play in the NHL. Don Matthews didn't play above the college level and certainly never played Canadian rules. Bill Belichick didn't play in the NFL. Closer to home, Kevin Bourgoin was the passing game coordinator / WR coach for the absolutely lethal BC Lions offense this past year and was our WR coach in 2021 when we lapped the whole league. Yet another dude who topped out as a player in college and went into coaching straight afterwards. And his playing career was so un-noteworthy that he's got no Wikipedia page and I had to google into a local news story just to discover that he did play at one time.

  28. I was at that Fred Reid game! He had another TD but it was called back. He got hurt and only sat out two plays - typical terrible coaching. Fred came back in and promptly reeled off a big run for a TD, Wally threw the challenge flag and yup, he had not sat out three plays so no TD. In Saskatchewan "bums in seats" is a double entendre....

  29. Some RB's also are very good returners / receivers. However as you pointed out a DB or WR COULD have more value as depth whether or not Vaval is lost for the season. Peterson is our depth at RB but it seems we bring in an import every TC just to have a look see.

  30. Arguably Hamilton (at least for the time being) with Taylor Powell. Similar to our situation with Zach and Dru, Powell may need to leave to get a shot at starting because BLM keeps extending his career.

  32. We pass up too many shooting opportunities. Not good enough to be looking for the perfect tic tac toe goals.

  33. Stanley has been much improved this season, but that was a definite brain fart, followed by some bad luck. The Jets have played better than the score indicates. They’ve been the better team, for sure.

  38. There's qualified coaches out there at the U Sport level who could come up & be great DL coaches who never get a chance. They languish hoping for an opportunity to coach in the CFL & Osh gives an important coaching position to Thomas. like it's nothing. Just one of his Boyz with absolutely no coaching experience. Just cuz he played (debatable) doesn't mean he can coach. Mind boggling.

  39. Yep, the litmus test will be free agency. If he does well, I'll change my tune. Until then, nope. Bringing Thomas & Hogan back as coaches is a big red flag for me.

  40. Walters has brought back two elite Canadian starters for the offense in Brady and Demski, two potential starting Canadians on D in Lawson and Kramdi and an all star HB in Nichols. So far, I think his off-season work should be applauded not **** on.

  41. true on both points about logan. However, an un proven here guy who wasn’t a top tier returner previously coming off a serious injury is a big risk. I’d only take him back as a flyer. No expectations, cheap deal, very little rope in camp. I don’t think wj would play for the level of pay he actually warrants with his play. I’d want other pass rushers signed before wj. Atleast one top level guy. Then wj battles for 3rd reps. That probably won’t happen but it’s what should happen. Vaughters was ok, but didn’t play him self into another deal at the same range as last year imo. If kola is cut loose i will very happily eat my hat and heaping piles of crow. That would seal the fact that the mafia has recognized the error of their ways and are doing what it takes to fix it. I am very encouraged by my moves so far. i’d put us at a B+. we could’ve done better at dl coach and oc, but we could also polish both those guys into being A+ additions to the staff. we gotta crack open the bank in free agency, and not blow it all extending guys who wouldn’t get any offer or even close to that money any place else.

  42. In fairness to Logan he got what one game? Vaval looked like trash his first couple games too. Jefferson i would keep but with a shave in salary. Vaughters and Kola...yep...bye bye. I would be going after their replacements very hard in FA if I were KW. Sadly he will probably take that week off again. I have zero faith in Walters right now, and I hope I'm wrong.

  46. Kola, Logan and Gauthier are good choices. Corcoran is likely going into year 2 of a rookie deal so they keep him, although I hope he's a 2026 camp cut.
