  1. Hey we're down to one major complaint about the roster, I'll take that as a win!

  2. The guys willing to come up now are more the guys who didn't make it through mini-camp or have been in NFL camps previous years and are no longer getting looks. The cuts this summer won't be up here until next season at the earliest. 4 weeks on a NFL practice roster = same salary for rookie Americans playing 18 CFL games. They aren't in a hurry.

  4. Even guys here on pr aren't gonna show you anything unless they get to play...nothing about practice will be a big reveal either..they need to see game reps

  5. Just came across Devon Adams Willie Jefferson and Tony Jones in Calgary. Took a photo with em. Pretty cool seeing them while I'm visiting.

  6. You can airlift guys, but you really have to dig through a bunch at one position to find a gem, and you have to be willing to play them. Cycling guys on the PR won't yield any players this year. You are right that the nfl air lifts after TC cuts is not what it used to be. We make even less of it than we could, though.

  7. I was low-key worried they would sit Rando for Lofton because of last year and his rookie year. So I'm pleasantly surprised they kept the much better T on the roster. Lofton is a solid guy to have on the PR as well, especially while Venterpool is hurt. Because he's average at RT, a body at LT, and a good guard, once Vanterpool is back to 100% though, I'd rather see an NFL cut young T with upside brought in to groom on the PR. Its odd though, they can look at guys like Rando, Lofton, Vanterpool, and Wallace, then make good roster decisions on the OL. But look at Kola, who can't even reliably snap the ball this year, and continues to make bad decisions. Idk how you justify that internally as a coaching staff and to the players. Roster is solid. Would've liked to see Ball come off instead of Cobb, though. Dropping an IMP Lber for Woods would've been huge with Lawson hurt. A DI wr would be nice. but we don't have any one other than the fresh rookie, and we wouldn't use them in the O any way. last week we saw a good chunk of Kelly deep in the dime package. I wonder if we will see vaval get some of those dime/wil snaps. Be nice to see Shay/Smith get some of those. Maybe if Bonds continues to stink, he will be the next DB to "go down" / get pulled for vaval.

  8. Him, Bridges and a myriad number of other guys on this roster are guys you should be looking to push and move on from if possible. Their upside is capped. Their limitations are known. These are guys that "we're comfortable with" and we've kept them for no other reason but that. Lofton was terrible in Saskatchewan and he wasn't much better here. Randolph taking over for him was addition by subtraction

  9. He'd be solid depth. I'm expecting Murphy to get a call out to come out of retirement though.

  10. Randolph is head and shoulders better...Bryant back....was a foregone conclusion...Guess we doing him a solid and paying him full pay not against the books and he there if we need him again things looking up hahaha I still tho don't get the Ball rostering tho....not a difference maker on teams....will never see field on defense and if he does we have lost 4 or 5 db types in the game....several different options that would serve actual use would make more sense But for rest of the depth chart....Can't argue it

  11. yeah that 4 man front has been very successful....more please. And agree...Woods for Ayers and his no snaps a game woud have made more sense and kept our best dlineman all fresh Interesting that Osh figured Korn was best option out of the gate, and showed he was basically useless, so now a DT goes down Schmeck vaults him?? If he wasnt good enough to play before an underperforming guy....Maybe go a different route...like try Bailey in that roster spot to see what he brings....or add Woods in lieu of Ayers for dline depth?....other than that I lie what we have on roster this game based on what we have to choose from.... Woods who has played teams last yr and was not a weak spot either

  12. We keep Ayers to play teams instead of putting on Woods and we have Fatboi and Schmek manning at DT spot? That is shitty roster management.

  13. Zach makes 600k, the only two other QBs who make that are Kelly (hurt but he's been on the six so they get some savings) and Rourke, who has played well. Adams is at 465k and Harris at 453k, both have played better and elevated their teams. BLM has been excellent and he's at 375k. Zach has not played well and his salary being 150k more than most starting QBs has hurt us.

  14. Adding woods could have been huge for thr DL. Liked what he did last year.

  15. Is NFL cutdown even a viable option to airlift guys in anymore? Since they expanded their PR’s down south a number of years ago you don’t really see guys come up here misdseason and make an impact. Save an already established CFL guy like Wilson, most NFL fringe players will wait out the season waiting to get called when someone gets hurt. It’s the guys who wait out the year and don’t get signed in the NFL by the next draft who seem to come up now.

  20. If things don't improve significantly the rebuild will be on for sure. Not sure that includes Collaros or not. Our team should have looked incredibly different this year. We let studs go and kept duds. That's the bottom line right now and it's showing up in the win column. Not going to make excuses for anyone from management, coaching, or players. All three phases have taken their turns underperforming. I agree that Collaros has terrible performances tied to that money, but some of that isn't really his fault. Not to excuse him, but our OL has been a leaky boat, our receivers are sub par (and that's kind), and our OC is not ready for prime time. Now Zach ain't no MOP calibre QB anymore to be sure, but give him a decent OL and receiving crew and an OC that will realize 2022 Zach has left the building and we may see some improvement for sure.

  24. Don't need chemistry...get open...and separation in your designed route...QB make the throw...its not rocket science The "Chemistry" thing is a bit over stated at times...the knowing when or where to go on busted plays...and cut off your route for sure is feel thing...but if majority of your plays have to rely on that...u ain't winning much

  37. I don't lay too much blame on the players for under performance when several are just not good enough...many who are hold overs and thats on the coaching, and it seems an inability to actually coach/teach guys to be their best. With success and failure on any given side of the football, 80 percent or more of it is the coaching and preparedness prior to the game and being put in position, and having the right guys out there to be successful....we have really sucked there more often than not Is it an inability to do so?...or just plain laziness?....or a combination? Also when you have sub par guys playing it effects the actual good guys....but also, some of our established guys who still can play need to up their game too, but with the country club atmosphere we have v=been subject too, and no fear of losing playtime, even the most professional of vets can become indifferent and lazy A lot of blame to go around but I sticking to my guns and for the most part I sticking to the notion that our coaching is what has hampered us....last week we did see a shift in rostering and actual use of guys....we got an outright release this week and curious again to see if more roster re-working occurs...now was that a "suggestion" from the guys above the HC?...Could be because it's a total departure on how Osh generally does things...and that's nothing but a good thing, and I have a hard time believing it was all Osh finally having a brainwave idea...based on his 11+ yrs of doing things. And if it took him 11 yrs to see some of the weak points in himself....just wow is all I gonna say We seen last 2 games that actual legit rotation on the dline has made WJ and Vaughters look like total different players....mind you it was just the Argo's beat up line but still....it has to be seen as progress...this game tomorrow if it continues will be a pretty good indicator....even the Griffin at AM and lots of J.Jones, and Parker before he got hurt made a world of difference, especially in the intermediate area 5-15 yards from L.O.S so looking to see it get even more refined, and an addition of WooDs to go with Adams should even further improve our front 7...especially with J.Jones getting even more reps If we can shore up the play of the oline, and actually have some legit weapons than if our coaching and OC can get in ZC head and have him play within himself and be more surgical, and not always look for the big plays I think we can be very successful, especially if we really rely on the run and extended run type plays with BO and actual play making ability guys.....Mot sure our OC has the compatance right now to do that, and switch gears mid game, but Jackson can and hopefully he gets a bit more say in things. The next 3 games are big and how we go about the remainder of the season I think hinges on these games,

  40. Because the D just does the same thing every play.... Chemistry matters in terms of guys seeing the same thing and making the same adjustments based on what the D provides. They can talk about it and have a plan but the only way to get that is repetition.

I'll never cheer for Bo, but whatever it takes to keep the Lions down below us... I don't trust the bombers to take care of our own business. Hopefully we can get some help here.

  42. I'd be shocked if Mitchell's chemistry with the QB is that quick... I figure it'll take time but hopefully he figures it out. As for Woods, I'm sure it was always going to be Schmeck or Korny that got on to replace Lawson... It's the Osh way...

  45. I don’t think he really played that well after the first three games. He got beat every single game. There was the thought process that because he had the INT’s early on he would be given sometime rope to hopefully get better but I remember saying to my girl friend at the game against Edmonton he was easily our worst DB but would probably have a long rope due to the two INT game early on in the season. I mean he was far from the only DB getting beat but he was never good in my opinion and definitely a weak link.
