  1. There is a lot of luck that goes into winning the Grey Cup... gotta get healthy and hot at the right time. So all you really have to do is play well enough to secure a playoff spot and then hope for the best. People don't like to hear that but it is reality. As long as we're getting into the playoffs I would never fire Walters/O'Shea.

  2. Look at the teams Don Matthews won Grey Cups with... the Baltimore Stallions and the Flutie Argos. If you're firing coaches because they can't achieve that level of dominance in today's CFL, you'll never be satisfied. Outside of those teams he won one Grey Cup in five years with BC and one Grey Cup in five years with Montreal. No Cups elsewhere. To say his teams won consistently is just revisionist history. He is one of the greatest coaches in CFL history and he won five cups in 22 seasons as a head coach. I guess in those other 17 years he just forgot how to coach.

  4. Why would they fire these guys? We finally are a time where players want to play for this team and the team as a whole is trending up? I wouldn't even consider firing Walters or O'Shea.

My wife was an attorney. We watched that interview a couple weeks ago where Cohen's buffoon attorney was getting grilled by Megyn Kelly. Her audience was laughing openly at his assertions that Cohen was just a good guy who just wanted to take care of the boss. When she asked him if Cohen ever threatened people, he said "I have heard that through the grapevine" which is a HILARIOUS thing for your attorney to say on national TV. After my wife was done laughing, she explained that we were looking at the attorney dumb enough to work for a guy who is dumb enough to work for Donald Trump, and that the stupid doesn't add up, it multiplies.

Will we be better or worse?

I'm old enough to remember too many unjustified firings of coaches in the past. Cal Murphy canned after losing a playoff game in Edmonton. We always contended under Murphy, and won our share of cups too.....but the sky was falling and the panic took hold of the decision makers. Horrible decision, but in their minds "somebody has to pay". We brought in Reinbold and that was the end of a successful era. Dave Ritchie canned after we couldn't win the big one. We went 14-4, 12-6, 11-7 in the three years prior to 2004. We got off to a bad start in '04, and once again we panicked and fired a good coach. We replaced him with Jim Daley. Doug Berry took us to a cup appearance in 2007, then after making the playoff in '08 we canned him too and replace him with Mike Kelly. Paul Lapolice took us to a cup appearance in 2011, so naturally when we struggled half way through 2012, we replaced him with Tim Burke. I firmly believe that Walters and O'Shea are one the right path. We're winning more than we are losing, and we are contending for the cup. It will happen sooner if we continue to build and offer a great program with consistency. The knee jerk firing of coaches rarely works out well. PS> I'm very pleased that the Jets didn't bow to the loonies running around last summer calling for Paul Maurice's replacement. Funny how they have all disappeared.

  12. Give me a team that wins more than it loses in the regular season every time and eventually the playoffs will take care of themselves. Seriously people don't we remember what happened the last times we fired coaches because making the playoffs just wasn't good enough?
    2 points
  13. I disagree with most of this. Receivers are better and they improved during the season. Demski is upgrade over JFG. JFG was a known commodity but we knew was that he was fine, not great. Again, we got better during the season last year and don't see any regression. Bond leaving will hurt but we've got lots of national talent. Not really worried there. GM: Guy has consistently made the team better and attracted top talent. Not sure what else this guy can do to impress you. Secondary is much better. Not sure why you would think it has regressed. I was doubtful about Moe Leggs but the guy has already proven he's healthy. Not sure why we've regressed there. Not having Hurl, the Matador, back there makes us instantly better.

I'm old enough to remember Tracker hints OShea and Walters should be fired on a weekly basis regardless what happens.

Well, In order to convince a Judge to sign off on multiple warrants, against the personal lawyer to the President of the United States, they must already have an ironclad case against Cohen. There are unconfirmed reports that this relates to money laundering and illegal campaign finances. Mueller would now also.... have a lot of past communications between Cohen and Trump, visa vi past business dealings emanating out of Trump Tower. May need more fire sprinklers..... Who flips first? This guy or Manifort?

How could anyone this incompetent collude with anyone else to pull off anything? Obviously, the quality of people that Trump surrounds himself with should exonerate him. They can't even get the simple stuff right.

    2018 NHL Playoffs

So, far be it to complain about making the playoffs, especially as I'll be there this year as opposed to 2015.... That said, little bummed about the early start times / catering to the East. I get the why, doesn't mean I have to like it. 2 central teams playing. Games at 7:00 or 7:30 are most fan-friendly, I.E. sensible. And yeah, I think most are counting down the days until Rogers national TV deal ends. Obviously they're vastly outmatched by TSN' on air talent. Damn shame to have a TON of great hockey ppl essentially off 'til the summer while Spengler Cup regulars cover Canadian teams in the playoffs. Here's one for us to ponder. How many Sat night games do the Jets get this postseason?? Methinks we'll virtually have to make the Cup final before Rogers sees us worthy of their Holy night broadcast.

    2018 NHL Playoffs

Disagree (obvs now it's easier to) - but I'd have said the same even if they squeaked in. They weren't winning a Cup this year. There was little chance they'd even be sniffing at a Conference title. GM smartly assessed that & obtained assets for a piece likely gone at season's end. 'Twas a solid trade from both sides.

No sense talking to you about it now as you called it but nobody else did. I don't get ppl who like to brag they're smarter than everybody else. Have a good night.

With the Bruins losing to the Panthers tonight, the Jets finish second overall and would have home ice advantage throughout the playoffs unless they face the Predators in the second round.

I disagree. Ronda looked fantastic. She squared off with hunter and beat him with Strikes. Had her submission on. The psychology was great. Sure Ronda could tap step in 2 seconds but what kind of match is that? i thought all the heat steph got on Ronda made sense and was never steph besting Ronda one on one. The idea Steph would scout the arm bar makes sense. But as soon as Ronda locked it in step taped out in a fraction of a second They actually did more than I figured they would for Ronda’s first match. She did great! They even teased the Double tap out spot I was hoping for. And I believe the idea was steph was about to tap and hunter grabbed her arm to stop her good stuff

  39. Pretty good chance the Bombers would have made the last two Grey Cups if they were in the East too. They would have needed one playoff win at home each year. Gotta talk apples if you're going to make that comparison.

  40. Are we really talking about management being under the gun? Good grief guys! O'Shea has made mistakes, but every coach does. And Walters? The guy has been terrific. If anything, our scouts are to blame a bit, but not Walters. I don't want to go back to the days of "cleaning house" every 2 years.
