  1. Wade Miller sounding arrogant? The devil you say.

  2. Yeah all involved have literally a week of knowing this was a likely scenario. Should be able to make a call by like 4 PM before people start traveling to the stadium.

  3. In case you're curious the CFL told us they use the site AQmap.ca for their readings. It appears to draw from three different companies. The Gate 4 and field sensors at the stadium are through PurpleAir (a poster above referenced them). Why the PurpleAir site and the AQmap site (drawing from PurpleAir) are giving drastically different readings...I can't explain. https://aqmap.ca/aqmap/en/#13/49.7987/-97.1345/B31/L38/L40/L41

  4. DON'T abandon the run, if you are down, still run, if it isn't working, block harder, try a different gap/misdirection, heavy sets, whatever.....but don't abandon it......I want to see time consuming punishing drives...We are making it too easy on opposing defensive fronts...be nasty, play till the whistle, push the pile...be the hammer, not the nail.....and stick with it!!! On defence communicate, communicate, and communicate some more and stop the self-inflicted harm.....

  5. Keys to the game big Chris becomes big time Chris. He had a good game in week 2, expectations for him should be high when starting with prep time. This is a big chance for him, only so many left. back to bully ball. Brady has been as good as ever just hasn’t been able to get the ball consistently. Gotta keep feeding Brady and mix in Cooley. That’ll keep us out of second and long. new look D, a lot of shuffling with existing pieces. They know well how Toronto whipped them and should be prepared to punch back. Players to watch, secondary, Lofton, Corcoran, jjones, and person. plus, vaval, still has his job if he can refind his early success maybe break one and secure the ball maybe he will keep it. and Hogan, who is pretty close to the hot seat with the fans at this point.

  6. I don't find the AQ forecasts to be very reliable. There is a decent wind blowing in from the south and it's already cleared up a bit compared to earlier this morning. I'm not too worried about it.

  7. It's down to 8 at the stadium and dropping hourly. No risk to the game being played at this point. https://map.purpleair.com/air-quality-standards-aqhi-plus?opt=%2F1%2Flp%2Fa10%2Fp604800%2FcC0#11.02/49.863/-97.1222

  8. Yeah. He didn’t get much of a shot down south because he isn’t a freaky run jump tester, but he’s really quick and plays more than fast enough for S in the cfl. He played really good ball at a high level in college but was still just scratching the surface of his potential. You can see a lot of his play is on instinct, hustle and grit. He showed a real quick grasp of the game up here in camp and ps too imo. As much as we have nuance that guys get stuck on, the cfl is more tailored towards defensive guys who are instinctive like him. I think he could also be a great fit at full time wil doing all the cover stuff, and at sam. Wil has been evolving and the likes of Chris jones thought it would become more of a second Sam, but really it’s more like a SS down south. Big enough to engage with linemen and toss any one smaller, but also able to run with and cover guys. We don’t need a lber lol or a rookie at sam, but I would love to see a big physical Safety that makes guy hear footsteps and look both ways before crossing the middle.

  9. Woodbey for a bigger guy is uber athletic....He's be more than capable repping at safety...SAM...Corner along with Will....need to get these guys like him and Allen into lineup for the litmus test

  10. I think Streveler will have a good game, but it will not enough for him to assume the starter's job. Oliviera will rack up 100 yards or close to it. The D-line will perform well, but the defence will still give up 30+ points. O'Shea will assure us that everything is going to plan. This forum will be unbearable tomorrow. Walters will be invisible.

  11. A couple pre-game thoughts: This is the 4th (or 5th) different line combination this year .. how well are these guys going to play as a unit and how is Lofton going to hold up on Streveler’s blind side. If we have any chance of gutting out a win, this group has to stand up - it’s that simple. We (rightfully) got a bit of pressure against a beat up Toronto offensive line last week but gave up too many plays on the back end. Every one of those guys in the secondary need to be better. Bridges, Parker and Bonds have not been good all season. Bridges is out and Parker slides down next to Holm (who he’s played beside before). Is this the change we need or is this just shuffling the chairs on the deck of the titanic? I don’t think Kramdi has the range to be an effective safety and I think we can do better than Parker (and Bonds, who played really well at times last year) but will hold off forming an opinion until I see them play. And .. for the love of God .. go out and smack Toronto in the mouth and DON’T LET UP.

  12. Southern Ontario was brutally hot this week. Glad to be home but this smoke… After travelling to TO for that debacle last week we just decided that we need a for sure “Go” by about that time or we’re not driving the hour + to the game tonight.

  13. The level of effectiveness in our WRs' blocking has dropped drastically; that is an absolute fact. Adams and Bailey, Drew, even healthier Demski and Schoen did it at a level you seldom see from WRs. I think you're really getting the crux of the issue with our offence, and imo offence in the cfl in general. I believe we made the decision to aim for familiarity, while being willing to settle for mediocrity. We didn't want to try and re invent the offence based around what zach can do now or what our wr room is good at now. We wanted to keep doing the same thing because its familiar. I think Zach is a huge part of that, too. I don't see in him the willingness to reinvent him self in order to extend his career or perform better as an offence. The catch is, at a 7-yard average. In the CFL, it is hard to succeed with less than 9 yards per completion. Less than 8 is doomed territory. But when you aim shorter, you complete more. But then you get stuck in that phase of pass completion on 2nd down, short of the needed distance, then punting it away. Our production on first down has been so bad that even getting 8-9 would be tough. I think the Ni approach is worth a look, I'd like to see kelly and the rooks get a little chance, then flip another spot for imp. But I would also like to see allen in game, I think that guy has tremendous potential. Woodbey was all over the field and very physical as well.

  15. I err on the side of safety...but if you can't play on a day like today you may not play another game outdoors on the Prairies this summer.

  16. Easy to say "stick to the run" but if we go two and out a couple times in a row and we're down two TDs I'm not sure it's so simple

  17. Key...establish dominance on offence early....and keep foot on throat...Nothing cute or trying to be smartest in room....just straight ahead punishment...and things will open up Defense... utilize the athletes we have actually rostered....the best ones....pressure and force Arbuckle to have to make quick decisions...and our back end should feast...play attack defense....not react defense Coach the game with a purpose and with a bit of fire in the belly.....do that, and we will reap the rewards

  19. Hopefully they don't make this sellout crowd wait till 11 PM only to announce it'll be played tomorrow. Glad to see the defense getting a shakeup. Not sure why Hogan's leash is very long right now... only logical explanation is that he blackmailing O'Shea. Let's see some Strevy magic tonight. #forthew

  21. Given his existing skill set at the time, his OC should have 100% tailored the game plan for him. We have seen results of that here.

  22. Given his comments about his time in Saskatchewan and how much he hated the offense there I'd agree. He knows how to play one way and that's all he wants to do.

  23. I did not like O'Shea throwing shade on Streveler after the last post-game interview. He hinted that he did not like Streveler's performance, so that tells me that we may be seeing Terry Wilson a lot sooner than we might expect.

  25. A decent start is a must. Bombers haven’t had more than a 1 point lead since the Edmonton game. I can see them playing ball control and holding on if they get ahead but I’m not sure this team can come back from any kind of a deficit right now.

  26. If the D can get some 2 and outs in the first half that would help immensely. They didn’t really do that last week. Tough for any O when you always playing from behind.

  27. Had some Echo Bike intervals on deck in the garage this morning and while I didn’t notice a smell heading out there, I’m certainly feeling it now - it’s not pleasant. Hopefully things improve significantly because I couldn’t imagine playing in that right now.

  28. I think we all might just be getting used to it. On my drive to work I could clearly see the smoke in the distance. But I couldn't smell it at all. At the start of the fires it was like I could taste the smoke it was so pungent.

  34. The Bombers coach(es) were winning last year and the year before but were rightfully criticized for the slow rot that was setting in. Those levelling criticisms correctly predicted that the team was spiraling downward due to coaching issues and these were not being addressed in any meaningful way. And so it has come to pass in 2025.

  35. They didnt. They lost to a much different offense.

  36. I will admit that I thought the focus on O had shifted more to the passing game. I remember guys like Darvin Adams, Rasheed Bailey and Drew Wolitarski, doing tons of effective blocking downfield as receivers. I feel we are seeing less of that, but the numbers show that RB touches have not changed much. I actually find that to be quite odd. I would say ZC goes deep more, while MN would throw more check downs - good thing he had a reliable RB and receivers willing to block. As for Hogan being watered down Lapo, I think you're right and I find it confusing. Why would an experienced HC and veteran QB settle for mediocrity?

  40. No but if you're not running tempo, what's the difference between a run play and a pass play? Clock runs until under 3 minute warning in long quarters no matter what you do.

  42. At least the staff are making roster change choices instead of 'standing pat'. I am good with it... even if it means working though the players until the mix works. This shows growth, and a willingness to adapt. We may not be happy with some of the changes - but at least it is a move in the right direction!

  43. Halls D did not rely on pressure. It developed the ability to get pressure with just 4 guys late. Check out the old fire Richie hall thread. It’s all too deep zone not enough pressure talk. It ran through Harris because he was our 2nd/3rd target as a pass catcher and the run game. Harris’ career high Carrie’s was 239 in 18, then 225 in 19. Brady had 260 carries in 2023, and 239 in 24. His average carries are right in line as a starter here with Harris, a bit higher.

    Collaros status

My thoughts were keep brown and let he and streveler figure out who the man was. Trade collaros for assets (and let's be honest Ottawa was desperate and probably would have loved to get collaros at the time). You save money on qb position and can bolster other areas of the team. Would brown have been injured here? Who knows. Different team different circumstances.

  45. I think there are some posters here who are hypocrites. Of course, they'll deny they are racists or have ever said anything racist in their life as they're perfect in every way as human beings while criticizing & lecturing others who they feel aren't.
