  1. Even though we are a salty bunch as of late, we *do* appreciate you taking the time to share with us DT - thank you!

  2. I hear he has already surpassed Mitchell on the depth chart.

  3. I have 4 each for Person and Ayers in Week 7. 3 of Ayers were short yardage. Person had 1 in the first quarter, 3 in the third. Two were lined up inside, two on the edge. For the season (I cleaned up some errors from the last time I posted these): Vaughters - 236 Jefferson - 223 Lawson - 167 Thomas - 167 Adams - 143 Kornelson - 39 Ayers - 16 Person - 4

  5. On D, the WJ effect. Once a positive, when supported by guys from Kongbo, to ba and biggie, now is likely a negative. He's taken some bad penalties this year, just undisciplined stuff. If the leader on D is getting away with that, no one else can be held to a higher standard.

  7. A little background is in order here: The Blue Bombers first came into Batiuk’s radar in 2011 during the National Football League’s work stoppage. Needing his football fix, Batiuk, now 78, discovered the Canadian Football League. “I was looking for football to watch and found the CFL and became a fan of the Blue Bombers because they have the coolest name in football,” he said. “I started watching their games and then in Crankshaft, Dan Davis, my artist, and I would just start throwing in a Blue Bombers sweatshirt or T-shirt every now and then.” https://www.bluebombers.com/2025/07/20/crankshaft-for-the-w/

  10. Stearns and Case etc. are not terrible, but they are not what we need......They can be fine in the right situation like WBBfan says a 5th forgotten about guy that can use the elusiveness for the odd play...I don't believe that they are #2 quality every down guys...maybe they could be one day but today they are not.....I think I have come to the realization that I am not mad at the individual, it's the situation, yes they "are all starters" but Ayers is not an end, Case is not a #2 receiver, Stearns is not a #2 receiver, Clercious is not a #2 receiver, and Demski nor Wheatfall are not a #1 receiver...Wheatfall may grow into it...maybe.....Heck Wilson if we get him back is not a #1 receiver yet. I get injuries happen and Schoen being out again sucks....but we can't IMO play guys in positions that they not capable of.......well actually you can in say the 5th receiver spot or in certain formations as an example perhaps having Ayers in almost as hybrid a 4 LB set. But you can't play them in elevated positions or we see what we saw the last few games.....Look I like Ayers, but he does not do well at end, I like Stearns and Case if used properly, all three as examples have skill sets.....but we are failing them trying to for lack of a better term square peg, round hole them. Speaking of round peg square hole, without BA and Biggie, someone needs to communicate better on D...we are missing the leadership/communication...far too often this year we are seeing communication errors......example Holm on two guys...but there have been many......how many crossing routes against us have we seen our guys make an error....I am not sure who it is this year, but if it is Parker and Jones, they need to do better...if it someone else they need to do better, it's week 8........this is preseason mistakes, someone needs to step up and be the guy.....look athleticism is great, but certain roles require other skill sets and it appear to me we are missing many of these other skill sets..... Person got in, and got a few snaps, perhaps he continues, and we solve the end issue, what we are going to do with the receivers is tough with Schoen out (6 gamed), and Demski being used like he is it's only a matter of time till he gets knicked...I am unsure...... I am also not ready to write off Strev. yet......but he needs guys he can throw to, guys he can build some chemistry with.......that's another thing I have noticed a lack of chemistry between our QB's and our receivers....,How many picks...and heck pick sixes has this cost us this year....

  11. I can't wait until the Vikings cut Justin Jefferson and we sign him
    3 points
  12. Yup...uphill battle...I think ZC needs to be on a short leash and Strev worked with and see if can develop...tailor the offence more to him... Done right he can I sure be more than serviceable...plus he is leas than 12 months post op....once he really back to form...maybe by late season...definitely next yr....you will see more of his old style and movement back People Can't fault the guy or be too critical of him now...hes just back from surgery...and gets tossed into game in an offence not geared to him...with sub par group of playmaker...U seen the potential first game and the offence kinda geared to him...quicker pace...ball out fast...and without BO as well...I bet if we were to have continued with that he would look even more polished...Can't write him off by any means currently....ZC tho...I dunno...he may be another good whallop when he gets back to out for yr...and it will obviously be in his head now...we already seen it when he got rattled against the Elks...jittery...panicking almost immediately..all the int's started...gonna get worse now...if he out a few games and we see progress in Strev..and tailor scheme...and personel more to him...and he getting wins...I'd roll with that until he shows its time not to in all honesty... Yes...him....payback was a biatch for that poor sap....we need more guys like that

  13. from what I am reading the creator of this strip is from Ohio. Why would Crankshaft be a CFL fan? Is he related to Zach or something? I'm just thinking that his US readership would be confused by an American attending a football game in July. Just curious as to the connection here as I can't read the Free Press in Kelowna. I like how Americans think that Canadian Mounties in full dress uniform are security at every event in Canada ever lol...

  15. IMO this is bang on. Whatever you think of Bighill's on-field production, Alexander's, we went from guys like that setting the tone to Jefferson (toxic level of effort/attention to detail), Nichols (anyone know what his voice sounds like?), Wilson, Kramdi, Holm...guys who are like 3-4 year pros. The room can't run itself anymore. They built that, and it fell apart. Need to rebuild it.

  16. O'Shea has been head coach since 2014. Closest to that would be Dickenson who has been head coach since 2016. Calgary missed the playoffs last year before being 3rd in the West the prior 3 years, losing the semi final each year. Though their record the last three years was 12 - 6, 6 - 12, 5 -12-1. So one of those playoff years was just because everyone else in the West was bad. Calgary seems to have revitalized itself this year. Can O'Shea do that if we are entering a downward trend? Do we need to go through 2 years of mediocrity before that happens?

  18. This is not meant to dump on MOS but he's in his 11th year here as head coach. That is a long time in any sport. Seriously how many coaches in the CFL last 10+ years.

  20. Our biggest issue I dont think is G.M....Other than he isn't being the firm Boss he should be and allows his HC to dictate too much....speculating here a bit but from what I see....know....and have been through thats my take in it. There def a disconnect there and a differing opionion on the type of player....or qualities in a player that is being kept/re-upped and leaned on....also everyone being buddy buddy too doesn't help...as it clouds decision making and not wanting to hurt feelings....players included...and thats a bad metric and has us where we at now Also Osh need to actually coach...be in the room....rattle cages for a lack of a better word....he allows too much self governing and has caused this malaise and comfort level that also is a bad thing and nobody has a worry in the world...only ones with worries are the youmg/newer guys who cant wait to get out of their contracts and move on

  35. Like his productivity, even though it was D2. I worry about the reliability and durability of guys who play 2-3 years and catch 30-50 passes. Even less than 100 is not a lot in game success. I also like his hands. Looks like hes catching everything with hands extended and not body catching. Solid size as well. He listed 6'3 200 in college, but his pro day was 6'1 and 194. Don't so much like his route running / film and athleticism. I don't see much in his get-off, breaks, or his trade craft in beating DBs. He looks to lean on his superior athletic ability vs D2, and his tremendous hands. He's a decent athlete, 4.54 40, 33" vert, 10' broad, 4.22 SS, 7.09 3 cone. That's OK, speed numbers and slightly better Agility. But on his game film, he's just walking away from guys, but doesn't look explosive or like he has a great top gear. He runs like he's 225-230, but plays like he's a low 4.3 guy. The upside: He could really benefit from the waggle if he figures it out quickly. He could also fit our scheme really well. Zach loves guys like him. He looks like a small-school, less polished Kenny Lawler, without the circus catch ability. If Kenny is a 10/10 in hands, McLeod is maybe 8/10. Or a less polished, less athletic Schoen. For his upside any way, his down side is a bigger version of McKnight.

  36. IMO a lot of the hc and gm changes are full on rebuilds after collapse. Hamilton is the predominant current case to look at. Dickenson moved up and of course kept him self as hc, boy that wouldn’t be a fix here lol. Ringmaiden moved up last year and brought in Buck this year. I don’t think we need to emulate other teams in doing this though. Outliers work too, like the Steelers never firing hcs. Danny Mac interviewed for the Hamilton job. If he’s interested in the life style change of living up here full time I’d consider promoting him from with in. Sunderland could be a candidate as well though far from top of my list. Having Deslauriers and Gulakow is a big help for supporting gms too. You have a guy who knows the Canadians scouting and draft extremely well and a guy who can do day to day football ops stuff and logistics.

  39. Vpool was shaky at best Person got 4 snaps....so no chance to show anything never moind get into any kind of game groove pretty much...Our coaching tho sucked the most tho...inexcusable after a bye...and playing the same team again who basically changed....nothing...and we still got schooled by them

  41. That was a crazy head shot Brown took & you're right the ref saw the play right in front of him & didn't even react. Which is a problem as there needs to be some kind of standard where penalties need to be called.

  44. Walters used to be one of the sharpest GM's in the CFL a few years ago. He was aggressive & took chances. He wasn't afraid to spend money & he had a lot of success. Lately, the past few years it's not even been close. We just can't have this kind of complacency by Walters or MOS. As far as Osh goes, some of his comments & decisions are like he lives in the 4th dimension. Things need to change.

  47. Don't think they mentioned it but too many is my official answer. Adams looked like he got rolled up on at one point so maybe he was limited after that - not that I think it would have changed anything though.

  49. That would make sense. I had 3 when I stopped counting. Yeah I saw Ayers again only on short yardage stuff. Burned half the teams DIs on de, where we struggled massively yet again, to only use them for maybe 5-8 total D snaps. Sickening.
