  2. Biggest non-Labour Day matchup and the CFLs top team is going to rest most of their talent? This league keeps getting worse. Mismanage the schedule so that pathetic Southern Ontario teams don't have to spend as much on travel and you end up with one game between the top two teams and last year's GC matchup. **** the Argos.

  3. Because in a competition you don't want to win by default, you want to beat the best possible opponent you can .

  4. Jackson is just the most useless roster move going. drop him, put Haba on and we don't need to give snaps to Bennett, aka the invisible man. put a canadian fullback in there and boom, someone to block and chase kicks. Not like Jackson is redefining any of those roles.

  9. Two weeks ago I said the Bombers had no excuses not to win that game. They crapped the bed. This week, there are even less excuses. A loss on Friday would be a disaster, IMO.

  10. Why stop there? If we don't blow them out of the water we're in deep trouble, that's where you're going to go right?

  11. If we don't beat them when they are resting that much talent, we're in deep trouble.

  12. Keep resting up Argos. Nice and rusty for the playoffs.

  13. well Oakman was/is hurt so not a surprise there, and really could care less who is playing for them....casue if we play our game we win regardless....so missing a few guys should make us want to really squash them....this is the game if we up by a big margin to really run it up...who cares how it looks, and thats what you get coming into a barometer game and kind of wussying out Thank good Schmeckle is out...Kelly is a good add for ST's and really due to our lousy depth the only other option on defence. When you finally get Hansen back, to also delete Haba is just dumb...why?....it's an easy flip of Jackson for him. We can use an extra olineman....Baily...even Briggs or Cadwaladderatermater for gods sake and get same effect.....I'm sure Hanse as well would be a destructive fullback for 6 snaps a game wiping guys out.....just a dumb roster decision again....but expected nothing less

  14. Nothing really changes from the players perspective. Beat the man in front of you and make the play. Same as always.

  15. I wish we had a who cares emoticon. I'm with the WBB players/coaches on this one when they say they couldn't care less on who they field or not field and the coaches justifications for doing so. Our goal is to execute and win not to decipher and care about what the argblows are doing.

  16. this feels very much like playing to the local media.....

  17. Also this isn't load management by the argos. Its risk aversion. Any other team complaining Bombers don't have to play a full Argos squad should talk to the league about MLSE and their stadium issues. I have a hard time understand the hair pulling going on over this. It's ridiculous, especially coming from WPG fan base.

  18. Who says they are doing it for 6 games? And if they do, they earned that right. We benched Collaros effectively for two games in 2021, again strangely silent here. And if a Calgary or Montreal opponent complained that we made their games easier, would we say “rightfully so” or say “why should we put our players at risk in a nothing game so that Ottawa or Hamilton or Saskatchewan don’t feel ripped off? Pretty sure I know what the answer would be with the shoe on the other foot.

  19. oh well. They had their shot at winning the season series earlier and **** the bed. **** them.

  20. I don’t recall this kind of wailing about the integrity of the game last year when we sat Collaros in BC for that “marquee” match-up between the top 2 teams in the CFL at the time. Or how the Montreal fans were getting ripped off shelling out their hard earned money only to watch the Sean McGuire spectacle in 2021. And if the league put in a “load management” force them to play edict and we lost Collaros to a season-ending injury in a nothing game for us (like we did in 2002 with Stegall), I can just imagine the calls for Ambrosie’s head for such a stupid rule being in place, forcing us to put a player at risk needlessly. This has been done in every league every year when a team clinches early. Not just a “short-sighted CFL league office” situation.

  21. I just love how every male "new country" singer wants to sound like they're from Tennessee or Arkansas. When they're from Grant Park in Winnipeg, Scarborough, Ontario or Parkland in Calgary & say "eh??" at the end of every sentence. Or from Portland, Oregon & Bemidji, Minnesota. There are a couple of decent singers today. A lot of songs are garbage. GCn20 here's a classic hurting tune for you. And you're welcome...

  22. If we lose our next two games against the Argos and Lions, that puts uson par with the Riders?! ChatGPT not working well today. I begrudging agree with your first sentence hence the four losses to date. Love the middle part of your post. And last sentence know that’s probably what happens.
    2 points
  23. We're tied with the Lions and really need every win we can get. We really need to embody a win at all costs mentality right now, imo.

  24. Milanovich made all the difference in the world for Hamilton. They're a totally different team since he arrived (if you ignore the most recent Toronto game where they laid an egg)
    2 points
  25. I agree....but I don't really care one way or another. The Lions is the game we need to win. The Argos would be nice as well but at the end of the day they are a non-divisional game. That being said I hate them because of the blatant favoritism they get from the league and look forward to the Bombers cramming it down their pie-hole on Friday. I really don't think there will be much chance of any other outcome and I am surprised by the amount of people fearing them with their backup right now....even with Kelly I don't see them beating us in a sold out IGF.
    2 points
  26. yup....let em boast and have media still say "yeah but" and anoint them top dawg...I sure our squad could care less....but if god forbid we lose...then we are in serious trouble
    2 points
  27. If you somehow lose against the team that's published on the Argo's depth chart today, it should be unbearable... because that would be a very ill omen for the Bombers. And there'd be no time for any niceties.

  28. Look ...do you want to break OSh's heart....He certainly is endearing to our coach.... but to a lot of fans, not so much....I think the experiment has to end before the end of the season, otherwise we are not fielding the best club possible............................................................signed flumoxed and frustrated

  30. Meh.... that sounds like a **** measuring contest. **** that. We know how good our team CAN be... don't need to prove it against some mythical villain. If they're that good, we'll see them in a game that matters in November...

  31. Because they are first in the East and we want to see how our team matches up.

  32. If we actually ca get Hansen on...solves one issue, how we can't find a Canadian punter and allow us to put Karamoko on the roster to bolster teams, as well as be a backup in secondary is troublesome...with all our ST crap play, having a average to good Canadian there I bet would serve us no worse, and I actually think us continuing to try and out smart teams with the Aussie stuff is part of why we suck so bad...to me that global spot is as much a waste as Jackson being on roster...Sheehan never impressed me at all right from camp. If Ford would just get his arse back here that would help us out bigtime....he can return , and he could be the role Parker has right now, allowing us to get Fox on the roster along with Haba or Deng.....but we just keep trotting out Jackson there for no real reason that I can see, as umpteen guys on our roster can do that role...and probably better. A smart thing as well would be to get Deng on this week in lieu of Clements or Cole and see what he brings...and if anything we show sets with 4 de's on the field giving the Argo o-line fits, it just adds extra study and scheming for teams to have to account for all of a sudden....status quo and just accepting outcomes right now is a fast track to early exit
    2 points
  33. yup...we basically started that trend...and excelled with it...Can't see anyone following this lack luster trend in regards to the defensive line....save for our starters the Jeff's...Lawson and Haba when he is actually rostered, the rest is just a pitiful sadsack group....It baffles me that "media" still chimes in about our dominant top of the league Dline...I think they still thinking of a line with the Jeff's, Stove and Nevis in the middle and Kongbo and Hansen rotating in...Top ends, and one of the better Canadian interior guys in Lawson....after that....crap

  34. There's no reason why in an 18 game schedule, and a 9 team league each team cannot play each other twice. It makes 0 sense. Every team should have a home and home. Anyways, it's really too bad that Kelly and Harris aren't playing for the Argos. I just hope the Bombers don't take the game for granted. GO BOMBERS!

  37. This is not a lineup that makes a mockery of competition. Yes, they are not starting their starting QB, but other than that this is just about as full a lineup as they could muster. Two guys sitting out (McManis and Peters) got injured last week. Oakman might be considered a healthy scratch although he has been dinged a couple of times in recent games. Putting in Brinkman to replace him is not much of a step back, if at all. Oakman, Hendrix and Brinkman are all top-notch DTs; both Brinkman and Oakman were healthy scratches earlier this season when they were unable to dress three INT DTs because of roster issues elsewhere. Argos sat one regular (Ouellette) as a healthy scratch last week, and are arguably sitting one and resting one (who Dinwiddie said might see some action).

  38. Some of us were unhappy with the decision to rest players at the end of the season last year if you will recall. Didn't like icing a team that was rolling.
    1 point
  39. There is risk anyway you do this. Rest a guy too much is he rusty come that one out playoff game? Or does he get injured because he wasn't playing or injured because he was. We will see how it works for Dinwiddie in November.

  40. Great answer.... It isn't Load management? It's risk aversion? Just what do you think Load Managemet is anyway? The resting of healthy players so they don't get hurt. It's the same thing.

  41. Sure does....but that song is roughly 20 years old as well. Yea, I like Cody Jinks and a few others that are more in the southern rock/country kind of vein. Just the commercial country of the past 10 years or so that has turned me right off of mainstream country.

  42. To be fair, 2 of our losses were in ot, mostly before bye weeks also... They make some questionable roster decisions but they still nowhere near the riders. **** happens on labor day
    1 point
  43. How about this... without trying to rile up the masses too much... Keep Haba on and dress Burtenshaw... scratch Jackson and Bennet... seems like a net positive to me counter point... Bombers haven't lost coming out of a bye in like 3 years... Bomber haven't lost back-to-back games since (I'm guessing) 2019

  44. There are quite a few foolish comments here suggesting that a loss or losses puts us on par with the Riders. Don't claim someone's opinion is dumb then make a dumber comment and claim it is hyperbole. Our season is not lost in the next two games no matter what the outcome is. Two losses makes our road to the Grey Cup more challenging, and means our team needs some work before the playoffs. Nothing more.

  45. Been saying it all along, September isn't when you start coasting. Nothing like icing your hot team too early

  46. I imagine the league and tsn are quietly very angry with the argos. Haven't been many marquee marchups and they completely ***** out on this one.

  47. I am not a country fan, and I honestly didn't know any of Keith's songs but I thought they were good and he's a legitimate star that is known world wide. Good look on the CFL. Now if only we could get the Beebs back for another GC lol...

  48. I saw them at the Niverville Fair in 2022, and they still sucked in case you were wondering.

  49. Who cares? There is zero awards given to the best team in the league Sept 29th. The Bombers only concern is being #1 in the west. And if they beat an Argos team without all their starters to do it....who cares?
