How many of our cuts have gone on to not become greeters at Walmart ?  You would think these guys would maybe try again or get picked up somewhere else and become stars or role players but have any?

They're too depressed to keep playing football after being cut for a "less talented Canadian"...

I picked up my Zach Collaros bobblehead today which is this year's season ticket holder gift. Very cool.

Do they still have the life-sized bobble heads ringing the concourse or was that just a time limited promo?

Are you complaining about Thomas?  You literally have three Canadian defensive tackles to replace him.  Same with Neufeld.

You say you're Canadian, you should support Canada and Canadians.

It's nonsense that people think Kramdi can't play SLB, because he's Canadian.  If he were a Yank, you people loving him.

This is football to me, not some patriotic circlejerk. I want my football team to do as well as possible and the last couple years, it hasn’t been. That’s it.

You want to support Canadians over everything? Good for you. That’s not the end all be all for me.

Exactly...if u all gaga over just the Canadian aspect support your USport...junior or amateur leagues

Best players should play within the ratio requirements...regardless of birth.

anything less doesn't cut it..and truthfully we already have to accept lesser talent with ratio as it is...that's a fact...too bad a lot don't grasp that

True. And with the Bombers it's not even as bad as other teams. Not everyone has a Brady, a Demski, and solid interior OL.

In the loss to the argos our qb was the problem. Collaros sucked. Grant even had a punt return TD and all our o did was put up 23 points including the punt return td.

last year our o sucked again ( it’s a theme when it gets colder) and our D (American db at that) got beat for the game winning td and earlier our American middle backer got beat for one also.

damn starting Canadians.

Yeah we are lucky we have exceptional front line Canadian talent for the most part...but the guys who aren't good enough to be the defacto starter are not interchangeable as equal no matter what people here believe or how much Osh says they are all starters

After the first quarter our coaching should have pulled him if not for a few plays the game...was clearly he was hurt and xouksmt perform

And go watch 4th quarter how our defensive front was  gassed...Guys flailing trying to tackle..Briggs and even WJ on that Kelly drive grasping at air...nothing left in tank to pursue...and we all know qhy that happened

Yeah...an injured LB with no business being out there...and our American dB playing for our vet DB who should have been out there..the one who has seen it all and was a key reason we won our last cup 3 yrs ago now

Damn those poor roster decisions....again

Who said anything about our starting Canadians? You really need to stop trying to play devil’s advocate, you are remarkably bad at it.

Let’s take your Bighill point, since I love picking on him anyways. The point some of us are trying to make is that IF our coaching staff were willing to submit to the theory that grooming a replacement for him would be good solid forward planning, building a contingency plan for a potential injury to an older player and just overall good practice since Bighill’s ability has been diminishing for a while … then the result potentially becomes that instead of having to choose between a banged up Bighill and a Shayne Gauthier or Jesse Briggs run of the mill player, we have the potential to insert an impactful player into the lineup at a place of need when the need arises.

Our scouting staff is very, very strong. There’s a reason teams have been trying to poach Danny Mac and Goveia for a few years now and there’s a reason Danny Mac is so secure in his employment that he can just tell everyone “talk to me when you’ll let me stay in Florida nearly full time”

If they’re a strength for us to this degree, I’d like to see us bear some more of the fruit of their labours. The coaching staff in years past just seems to content to allow good to be good enough and I’d prefer we pushed the envelope a bit more to see if we can strike gold the same way we have with Schoen, Nichols and guys like Alford, Holm, etc. It would be nice to see our team doing that even when they don’t have their backs against the wall with an open roster spot.

Exactly....and when you keep discarding new talent that's superior, over the status quo , for no other reason than loyalty....that's when you start going down the road of being an 'also ran''''

They cut DB Anthony Witherstone and DL Jabari Ellis too

Added DE Taylor Upshaw and DT Devin Adams

Witherstone was supposed to be having a good camp but didn’t look great in pre season.

Adams is a monster athlete. Played naia level 156 tackles 96 solo 20.5 sacks 56 Tfl. Of note, he did a bit of every thing as well in his 3 years. Punting a decent bit some kick offs, carried the ball throwing it mostly on fake punts. Head and shoulders the most talented guy they had. 40 yard average punter with 19 50+. Realistically his punting motion is kinda janky and really slow at times. If he started following through with his leg he could be a legit punter. Might be a guy you could turn into a kick off specialist.

Adams I hope we see in the last pre season game. Tremendous upside, will have to see how his game translates to higher level, guys that big and athletic often dominate on that a lone might need a lot of polish.

Not too surprised about Barry-eh. Probably gets another look in some ones camp or pr. Makes me think he wasn’t mentally tough enough and or coach able. May havr been a guy who peaked in college or just not a fit here. Grainger is an interesting pick. Can’t see him getting much for reps or play time for a while. Might be a camp arm or they might love his intangibles.

It’s funny that you list the examples of the coaches doing exactly what you want them to do.

We bring in LBs and DTs and QBs every year. But they have to prove that they can hang in there first, and then they have to stick around to show that they know the play book, are culture fits, etc.

And I do agree with you in principle, but I really think you’re banging the drum too hard. It’s almost like arguing with aards on the other forum. Even when I agree with him, he just takes it so far in one direction that I feel the need to disagree with him.

As mentioned earlier, maybe Barriere gets picked up by the Stamps to reunite with his former coach Beau Baldwin.

I guess Wilson has officially won the job as #3 (for the mean time). Now they have a new QB to start evaluating and taking reps.

Interesting that the other adds are defensive linemen

Wilson got comfortable real fast in that first game, I'd be surprised if any other QB is going to dislodge him from #3.

I could absolutely see Barriere getting a PR spot to develop with another team in the CFL. For one reason or another, he was not a fit in Buck's system. He looked like a high schooler out there at times in the preseason game and his interceptions and sacks taken all seemed to be due to a total lack of ability to process what CFL defenses are doing.

The highlights were always him making plays off script and not going through reads like a pocket passer. Barriere's playmaking may translate to the CFL game but he did not look like an electric athlete ala Tre Ford and so clearly the Bombers thought the learning curve was too steep.

I could see BC bringing him in to learn from Vernon Adams since he's a former EWU QB. Or Calgary to reuinte with Baldwin like @Fatty Liver suggested. Maybe even Toronto
