Number 2 Pivot: Who Steps Up?

BC - Ricky Lloyd and first-year Leos Austin Apodaca and Cole Sears will handle the quarterback reps in hopes of getting a leg up on sticking behind Reilly on the depth chart. 

Edmonton- Danny O’Brian, Logan Kilgore, Briscoe.

- One big observation in the first week of camp is the depth at receiver. Standouts at the position have included Joey Augustin, Marquis Bundy and Mexican additions Fernando Richarte and Gerardo Alvarez. All CFL clubs are required to keep one global player on their roster beyond training camp.

- Defensive Line: Calling On Another Bookend

With Odell Willis having another strong showing in camp, the big question remains who will line up as the other bookend.

- Linebacker Adam Konar gets to battle some of his own teammates after he was cut loose and quickly picked up by the Lions on day one of camp. He’ll start at MLB

They really don't like reality, much prefer their make believe world where the Riders are always the best at everything. 

the funny part is Ryan beaking at him too....he can boom a punt sure...but thats not the be all end all...and they have given up most punt return td's and average gain on a return in league...lots of that is cause of your punter..100k well spent

Its almost all on him. Horrible move bringing him in. Rookie GM mistake to sign a home town hero.  Ryan isn't even trying to angle the punts. We have had struggles but he is the biggest reason why. In banjo bowl a shanked punt had most of cover team already past the returner, the ones who weren't were sitting ducks. Not everyone here is in love with Ryan and how he has played.

Yup. He's always had a huge leg. But struggles with placement. Which according to some Rider fans is DT's fault

YEAH was almost wondering if that was your ST Coordinators plan to keep things between the hashes...or just Ryan trying to he-man all his punts for the ooh-ahh effect...seemed odd

But..his "veteran leadership".

Over the years, have found that the more that veterans under perform on the field.....the more emphasis from the club you get.... on "leadership"

I've seen a few times, particularly earlier, where he was outkicking the coverage. Give a returner some space, and we've seen what can happen. It's that the coverage can't close the gaps as fast. If you throw into the mix the fact that a coverage guy might not know where the punt is gonna be angled to or it's not angled well- that's a recipe for trouble.

Looking at net yards is a telling team stat, even if the punter doesn't like it.

I think it was Suitor or Black who claimed that Ryan would have angling down by the playoffs. He's been a punter since 2004, don't see him changing now. #BlameDT

Jon Ryan can punt that ball to high heaven, but since heaven and Saskatchewan are not synonymous, it really doesn’t matter.

Astounding for someone who’s been around for that long to be completely terrible at angling. The guy refuses to learn he likes to see his ball go 60 yards in the air but he’s doing a dis service to his team mates for being selfish. Makes you appreciate Medlock who’s worked hard to become one of the best precision punters in the whole league. 

Ryan's returnable punts are returns an average of 18.9 yards. Medlock's are returned 8.2 yards. 

Ryan's punting average is 50.6 whereas Medlock's is 43.9. 

Whether Ryan likes it or not, Taylor's numbers don't lie.
