Bomber Moves 2018

Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up.

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence).

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

Say what you will about Mike O'Shea but no one can ever overstate how valuable he has been in turning around the perception and culture of this franchise.

It will be interesting to see if we can have 2 guys join the 10,000 receiving yards club in the same season.  Bowman is at 9024 and Dressler is at 9491.  If they both end their careers in Winnipeg it will be interested to see which guy ends up on top.

So Bowman's rejection of a higher salary with the Riders confirms what many of us have suspected - there is a premium that needs to be paid by any pro Saskatchewan teams to convince players to sign there.  Guess it makes sense, lower standard of living and all that...

I think role may have played into this and having to be on the same team as Duron Carter may have been a deterrent as well :)

I'm sure it has something to do with the QB situation. Who'd you rather have throwing you the ball, Zack 'I used to be good' Collaros or Matt 'I'm in the top 3rd of the league' Nichols?

Surely you jest.......there is a thread on RF.... about how the Riders have the best group of Qb's in the league.

On the topic of Rider fans. Why is it They think Bowman is injury prone and declining and at 32 won' be the same he was 2 years ago. But think Collaros who has struggled with injuries and concussions and will be 30 this year will miraculously turn into the QB he was a few years ago?

What I found funny was before when it was said that they were interested in signing him... the guy was a lethal weapon all mighty unstoppable.... the moment we signed him he is now over the hill and drops every pass and apparently Nichols has terrible accuracy and Bowman and Dressler will be bumbling around the field diving at wild throws and dropping them all.

In fairness the first page or so of comments with the regular users over there were complementing the move and said it was a good signing.... the trolls however took over the thread and it's nonsense.

Flatbilly impartiality is a lot like the general state of dental health in the rectangle province: non-existent.

The assbleed on that forum over Bowman's decision is truly remarkable.

In general bowman has been pretty healthy. Much more so then dressler/adams.

Yeah the foolish junk flying about with respect to collaros has me baffled. cfl.ca on FB saying hes a top 3 qb?The same guy who lost his job twice to jeremy masoli?  Harris i can see the argument. Harris healthy on the riders would be a threat to break some records.

Collaros is far down the list of guys id want. Id rather have jennings. Hes only 25, no doubt his best football should be in front of him. Get him with the right system and coaching staff and look out.  Harris, id honestly take glenn over collaros. And durant. And masoli. Time will tell i guess.

That's the problem there.

Right on! One of my favorite Bombers.

That's a great pic of him, too.

"Get your filthy mitts off me while I return this ball to the house!" is what he's clearly thinking.

Would be better if they had cropped out that disgusting green thing on the right...  the arms alone would have sufficed.

Nice to see Fogg back as our 6th DB and a return guy...  crazy to see Heath, Thomas and Westerman all heading to FA

Riders gonna cut some vets after camp and i think guys know it.. Theres no way they are under the cap right now.

I guess... They have decided to see what they are worth... So be it.. Just cuz they are testing FA dont mean they wont be back but i think part of it is... Do they want to be here?
