  1. I guess I should have said why I was a bit shocked. 1- A total stranger said we need to shoot the PM 2- As far as I know we are not and probably can't send oil to the Ukraine 3- Neither the carbon tax or our loosely promised hope to send oil to Europe to off- set the bans on Russian oil and gas are the cause of the rise in fuel prices. 4- I thought this new idiocy of not actually looking things up or thinking things through would stay south of the border. I really dislike Trudeau. I think he is a snotty rich kid who rode his Dads name . But so what. I didn't and won't vote for him but enough people did that he was elected. That's a democracy. Lots of people on here despised Harper but the man was elected and you have to live with it. Neither are Nazis. Neither are dictators. People have to get over themselves and realise that in a democracy the desires and opinions of the individual don't matter. And in Canada we don't shoot our leaders even if they dont represent our personal opinions.Rant done lol

  2. Going to disagree with that statement. How much the league and teams make is 100% relevant to players because the players make the entertainment. If teams are making a pile of money why shouldn't players get their cut? Meanwhile if the leagueis losing money it is easier for player to accept not getting as much as they might want. Transparency is a good thing.

  5. That’s what I like to hear. Let’s be completely honest right now. Both sides NEED each other. You can pull a bluff all you want but by not playing football you’re hurting both sides.

  6. both sides are to blame...it's ridiculous to think otherwise. The owners, however, are the ones who walked away from the table when the players were willing to still talk. Thankfully, according to Naylor reports, there appears to have been a much needed "cooling off period", and the arbitrator was able to get them to communicate yesterday. No word yet on whether they're officially "back to the table" or not. Everyone still seems to think they'll have a MoU ironed out by the end of the week.

  7. Exactly. This is 100% about the owners not being willing to be open with the players.

  8. The teams want revenue sharing. The players are fine with that. The players want transparency on the finances. Suddenly, the owners are quiet.

If you humour these people and prolong the conversation you will soon discover, racism and homophobia bubbling just beneath the surface. In my line of work I deal with a few like this everyday, and I do my best not to engage. They are not smart, informed or educated, mostly just angry for some reason.

My wife and kids had it. We all stayed home but I couldn't really isolate from them....I didn't get sick and never tested positive...? It's a weird thing this covid.

  17. A little disingenuous to assume these people are going be stocking shelves. A lot of people have a plan B after football including degrees and side ventures. Most of the players coming to the CFL know this is their last chance at “professional” football it really rubs me the wrong way when people refer to these people as Walmart greeters.

  20. They've invested in Dakota Prukop as the backup. Streveler won't sign for $100,000. He'll want a lot more & probably the chance to compete as a starter. If we couldn't keep players like Harris, Darby, Lawler & Castillo why do you think we can afford Streveler? We all love the guy but financially I don't think it makes sense. Besides, we won the Grey Cup last year without him. He was so important in our GC drive in 19 when LaPo was the OC. Buck does things differently. I mean sure, maybe I'm wrong & you're right. I'd love to see him back here. I just don't think it's doable.

    Top 5 Bomber QBs

Real shame about Chuck Ealey. He could have been one of the greats. Ealey had a sensational rookie season winning the Grey Cup in 1972. His play at qb turned the league on its ear that year. By the time we got him for Don Jonas in 74 you could see something was wrong. His play was off. He was taking sacks where before he got away. Throwing interceptions & missing open receivers. He just wasn't the same player. I think Brock's development was a life saver for the team. It enabled them to trade Ealey to the Argos & get Brock in there as a starter. I think Earl Lunsford got lucky with the timeline of Brock's development after he traded Jonas for Ealey. Brock becoming the starter saved his job.

  22. It is two seperate negotiation points, three even. 1. Hard increases to cap 2. Extra pot of money reserved for community appearances (previously done for free) 3. Revenue sharing (when revenues exceed a certain point - the cap is increased by that amount over and above the guarenteed amount). Whether you agree it's the player's business or not, the definition of revenue, the agreed upon exceedance point, and how it will be applied to the cap - need to be very clearly defined in the CBA.

  23. Good day, You will recall that sometime in the period November 23, 2020 to September 23, 2021, you submitted a Consumer Claim under the Canadian Microsoft Software Class Action Settlement for CAD$ 42.00. After a careful review, we are writing to confirm that this claim is APPROVED.

  24. Individual teams aren't negotiating here. The only relevant information is the league as a whole. And yes, the covid years sucked for all, but we're looking at the next 7 years, not the past two. Revenue sharing is on the negotiating table and is literally, 100% the players business. Again, I don't think they need to address it from the perspective of individual teams, but the the leagues net revenue, expenses, and profit, absolutely.

  25. This. "Creative Accounting" can and does happen (the Washington Commanders latest scandal is a current example). It's easy to see why the players would want open books.

  26. I'm guessing Monday is out of the question now
    2 points
  27. I think it's more that they're not 'opening the books' and showing what the revenue is. I'm sure agreements can be made about what is in and out of bounds, but you need to have an idea of the total pot to come to that understanding. The CFL as a whole makes money. Covid years aside - and the deal on the table doesn't include any increases for this current year as a result of that - what losses are you referring to?

Between Vegas,Philly,if Trotz wants a team with talent then it's Winnipeg. Top 10 goalie, tons of offensive fire power, just need Barry's expertise on defense. I honestly believe the Jets are a good coach away from being consistently dangerous for a few years.
