Discussion? You post an article and say absolutely nothing about it unless someone disagrees with it. And yes, you do post largely from sources that are well - known as conspiracy theorists. If there really is something to discuss, then why don't you lead the discussion, since you're the one who posted the info in the first place.

If staying indoors for a couple months causes us to kill ourselves and others in numbers that make a deadly novel virus look like 'spit in a bucket' then we aren't worth saving.

  6. It was so much fun. I was still young, and we were all completely loaded in the student section. When Bolden got that int, the guy sitting behind me jumped up to celebrate and fell over my head and landed at my feet. He got up, high fived me, then climbed back up to his seat like nothing had happened...

He really will go away if we all put him on Ignore. I have and I don't miss him at all. It's amazing how wrong someone can be on so many different topics, but that can only be by design. Plus, he's an admitted troll. His misinformation would be dangerous if anyone actually believed it, but I think this small group of people have him figured out and he doesn't add much to the football-related discussions either. So just ignore him already.

You should probably vet your sources better in the future. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-gateway-pundit/ There's zero need to see yet another thread devolve with the woke brigade posting sketchy information, conspiracy theory, and hyperbole from highly questionable sources. There's already enough of that in other threads in this sub-forum. Be part of the solution here, not the problem.

You're projecting, piggy. Pseudoscience and conspiracy theory from sources that are proven to be unreliable, inaccurate trash is not science. And purporting either on here to peddle your "I'm more woke than others" narrative while getting defensive clearly shows who's insecure in his lack of intelligence. I'd apologize for hurting your delicate sensitivities but **** it. Your actions made it clear long ago you're not here to have productive discussion; you just enjoy the discord created by the garbage you post in this sub-forum.

I, myself, have have proven many alleged theories to be correct..beyond a shadow of a doubt. But every time I provide proof on Facebook, they’re mysteriously replaced by cat videos. So, every time you see a new cat video, rest assured in the knowledge that I’m silently working behind the scenes.

For those who wrestle with isolation vs. less restrictions, COVID vs. economy, risk to millennials vs elderly, and "acceptable" levels of sacrifice, be it economic or health, here is the perspective from a COVID survivor. Just one viewpoint, would be happy to hear of others or if anyone refutes this person's opinion, having lived through it: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/21/us/coronavirus-survivor-response-to-protesters/index.html

No one is talking about correlation vs. Causation. And the first rule of science isn't that. Science is impartial. Conclusions are drawn based on the evidence and tested for repeatability to ensure the correct conclusion is reached. Where a lot of people like you fail is you find a conclusion you like then try and pretend to find evidence to fit that conclusion. The fundamental thing about science is that it's flexible and always changing and adapting and believing what the evidence says. Economics is little more than sophisticated guessing.

Yup, it's the spin offs from the isolation/poverty/despair that nobody wants to talk about. The murders will go up, violent crimes, domestic abuse, when that damage is all tallied up it will make Covid 19 fatality rate look like a spit in the bucket.

    The Star Wars Thread

I am very late to the party but I finally got around to watching the Rise of Skywalker and while I understand the criticisms people have for the movie, I found it a lot better than The Last Jedi and believe that a lot of the reasons for the problems this movie has is because of how disjointed the trilogy became because of the **** sandwich that Rian Johnson fed us with The Last Jedi. That movie made Finn and Poe 100% irrelevant and trying to make them more in the third film was forced. Which is dumb because clearly you set them up to be the new heros in the first one but then crap all over them in the 2nd? There's no coming back from that. You set up a potential new big bad in the first but kill him without any sort of payoff in the 2nd so what's left for the third? Trying to subvert expectations was the wrong call with the 2nd movie because it left them with nothing for the third movie and a completely disjointed trilogy. So in summary, it's Rian Johnson's fault.

  25. My favourite Arland Bruce touchdown. Was the game that got postponed by 9/11 so they played it on a Monday. He catches a ball at the 30 yards line and drags a Eskimo the 30 yards for a TD. I am not sure if any game film exists of this game because I don't think it was on TV.
    2 points
  26. Arland was awesome. One of my favorites when he was here. Anyone remember the wild August 2002 game against Calgary where he caught 4 TD's in a crazy comeback win?? Down 41-27 with 2 minutes left and we won it in overtime. Not gonna lie, I left early lol but still one of my favorite all time games.

While I agree 1 through 3, the truth is that 4 was staged. Nasa hired Stanley Kubrick to do the filming, the only issue is he demanded it be filmed on location

I’ve seen this question before: Why worry about coronavirus when the flu kills many more people? The novel coronavirus is dangerous for several reasons, even if the number of deaths might not have matched that of the flu. Since this flu season started October 1, an estimated 24,000 to 62,000 Americans have died from the flu, according to CDC. Nationwide, the flu has infected at least 39 million people between October and early April. The first US case of coronavirus was reported in January, and the first US death from coronavirus was reported in late February. By April 16, the US had more than 639,600 cases (update 815,491) of coronavirus, and more than 30,900 people have died. (Update April 21 - 45,013) You asked, we’re answering: Your top coronavirus questions:https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2020/health/coronavirus-questions-answers/ Q*s and A*s relevant to what’s going on.

Here's my experience with conspiracy theories: First, I'll list a few off the top of my head: 1. All our computers will crash when the year 2000 arrives 2. 911 was an inside job 3. The Titanic didn't really sink, they sunk another ship to claim the insurance on Titanic 4. No one has ever landed on the moon - it was all trick photography There are 100s of others, but I will stop there. Just looking at those four - they have all been disproven My question is simply this: can you give us something that was originally labelled a conspiracy theory, that was later proven to be legit?

https://theconversation.com/how-dangerous-are-conspiracy-theories-listen-to-part-five-of-our-expert-guide-136070 "If you present people with the scientific correct information before they’re exposed to the conspiracy theory, then that theory doesn’t have as much impact on people’s attitudes. Whereas if you do it the other way around, and you present people with the conspiracy theory and then the correct information, the conspiracy belief tends to stay there."

The furor among the Tumpsters in the US has caused Trump to give credence to yet another insane theory. These are the same people who promoted the Pizzagate idiocy and Trump has to get in front of the parade of lemmings because he is their leader. China has no incentive to create or release such a plague because it has destroyed their economy at least as badly as it has the rest of the world's. Why would the Chinese slay the golden goose that has made them wealthy and powerful?

Economics is more like an art than a science. If it were cut and dried, then the secret would be public and people, corporations and governments would utilize it and be wealthy forever. Damned few are. Economics are a guess at a fluid and volatile stew of politics, weather, and stupidity, not to mention dumb luck.

Not really a new trick at all. I am sure you could reread the first 10 pages and see someone blaming China and calling it a bio-weapon, then again the mods have been pretty good and cleaning up the conspiracy crap so it might not be there any longer. At one point there was even speculation that a Dr formely of the virology lab had something to do with it as she was the focus of an RCMP investigation and of Chinese heritage. I think the "New Trick" will be how many news cycles he can get out of restating a theory that has been disproved already. Anything to keep the focus away from the true problem, his own failures...

  41. Have any of you ever worked for the federal government and see how insane any contracts are? A few examples over the years that I've seen was..... $500 - $1000 to mount a 40" tv on the wall $4000 to change a door from swinging inward to outward $500 to add the hinge to make the door slow down $100 000 to take down a 30 foot non load bearing wall $50 000 for 12 desks to be installed (desks price included).... these desks are Office 2.0 desks so low height (no cabinets) and very small in dimensions and they are linked together. $1500 for each chair.... You get the idea.... you should see how insane the prices are on big new build projects.....

  45. Lirim made a mistake. Didn't handle it right. Most fans aren't Draconian. I think if he would have faced the media & owned what happened that fans would have got over it as would have his teammates & coaches. I just remember it wasn't just the fans & media who gave up on Lirim. Walters & O'Shea did as well. We all know Mike. He'll go to great lengths to protect a player from criticism or scrutiny but he didn't with Lirim. I think Mike & Walters were very upset with his behaviour at the time. Otherwise, he'd have continued playing for the Bombers & he'd have been re-signed. Yes, he was run out of town but I'm happy for Lirim that he went to the Cats & played well. Now, he has his NFL shot. Hope he does well.
