Full comparison from 3DN: Have to laugh at the football ops & management grades the Riders got. They let the players get to do whatever the f**k they want and have for years now so it doesn't surprise me that they got good scores in that regard.4 points -
They do know that the end zone plane isnt for flying right. I’m kinda surprised teams have to supply other teams travel. That’s weird.3 points

Currently in the midst of Shrinking S2.... So many actors that I love from other things. We'd watched S1 when it came out and 2 has taken it even higher. Absolutely worthy of the 97% it has on Rotten Tomatoes.3 points

Fajardo now an Elk and MBT is an Alouette. Wonder if the Elks will pay Cody's big offseason bonus? Can the Als pay both MBT and Alexander? Per cfl.ca, MBT is a free agent in February.2 points -

That helps (the break down of the categories). My impression is it's a good start and will likely see some tweaking going forward. Some of thso3 categories feel a bit broad for my liking.2 points

I think timing also plays a part in the grade. Things might look a bit rosier in Sask (at the moment) with Mace there vs the end of Dickie's run so they'll get a good grade. I would have thought the Bombers would have scored bit higher on the management side since we never seem to sign guys to crazy deals an then force them to renegotiate it or be released. They may have to let guys walk if they can't fit them under the cap but at least they seem to be more upfront about it than some. other teams. I also wouldn't necessarily say we're frugal either (maybe more selective on where we spend or less willing to overpay in FA) since we are at or over the cap most years so the money is being shelled out. The 3DN article does a good job of including what went into each category but not necessarily why teams got the grades they got. https://3downnation.com/2024/12/17/cflpa-unveils-inaugural-cfl-team-report-card-results/2 points -

I think Maas did a great job rolling out Davis Alexander too. So glad that Maas beat out Mace for COTY. once upon a time the dude was just a jug-eared gatorade destroyer, but now he's the guy who beat us in the Grey Cup with Cody freakin Fajardo. Bragging rights earned.2 points -

i really don't care about other teams. I care about the Bombers. Am I supposed to be impressed by this? That Dinwiddie followed O'Shea's roster decisions by playing more Canadians than he could have? Not really. I didn't see a Canadian starter on the Argos even remotely close to the ineffectiveness of Jake Thomas. The Argos roster of Canadians were better than ours. It gave them flexibility. Our starting Canadians (in certain positions) hurt us.2 points -

Is it odd that 3 different QB's starting Grey Cup's against us the last 3 years. Winnipeg lost all three games. Not a single one of those three is projected to be a starter heading into training camp this year.1 point -

Interesting because CF has voiced that he still wants to be a starting QB, I wonder how Tre Ford feels when he was getting the lip service that he was going to be the franchise QB. Obviously something has to give here.1 point -
Meh...depth I would think. He was gassed and got burned badly for like 3 straight games before we went away from him. OC's picked up on it and we were getting torched. IIRC his gassing problem was due to bad asthma. Would be a great guy to have to rotate in though.1 point

A pretty good report card overall. A few minor things to work out but nothing crazy. Players overall like the atmosphere of the team. A few minor wrinkles to work out but nothing that isn't easily and cheaply remedied. I'm not surprised by the grade for management. Walters can be a pretty tough cookie in negs.1 point

I do agree. Ayers might benefit from a bit more muscle and some nfl coaching at the same time. A camp down south would be good for him, but hard to imagine that would be better for us than a sophomore camp. I’d really hate to see him jsk, find his stride and bail. they’ve really been trending smaller and smaller for wil/sam and de. As much as they look at measurables, the ability to dominate plays ish huge. Right though? Ajou isn’t 10% as good as big kev at any role. And Kevens excels blocking and is good on teams as well.1 point

we didnt seem to wanna bring him back....he was for good portion of the yr one of our better defensive guys.....weird all around to be honest1 point

Bronco's doing the Giants wide swath look at anyone who had a press clipping or highlight Not sure what they see/saw in Ajou tho.....Guess he getting the KSB look based on visuals And with Ford....he not in a good spot age/experience/pedigree wise....also position ......you know how many Ford's are kicking around there...younger....experienced in American ball....he needs to seriously look for the perfect situatuion...and even then....he has huge odds1 point

You lost me at Dunigan. Hey everyone has a right to their opinion but Ham was not a better Qb than Dunigan .....1 point
-
speaking of running QBs, Tracy Ham was one of the most complete guys I've ever seen play. He could kill you with his legs or his arm and he was way more consistent than guys like Dunigan and Allen were. Basically a QB designed for the CFL, not a glorified running back. I think Ham is a guy we don't talk about enough when talking about the all-time greats -- he's not a Flutie or Moon but fits real nice in the tier underneath those guys.1 point

The dude's game has changed a bunch in his time as a starter tho -- he used to be at his best running around, scrambling, making DLs look silly with that spin move and making big hay on broken plays. nowadays he's not nearly as zippy as he once was, he plays much more controlled with quick throws from the pocket. Looks like mileage and maturity (and the Maas coaching) has been accumulating.1 point -
nothing wrong with starting an extra Canadian or using in heavy rotation....if they are good enough, AND...thats a big and...the best option...around here....it's not even a consideration with Osh.....and believe it of you want...or dont...but it hurts us and one could just imagine the even better success we could have had1 point
