  1. I saw Biggie this morning doing film work. I won't say where I saw this film work being done 'cause snitches get stitches but... they're gonna be ready!

  2. From your lips to God's ears. Man I want to see the Bomber stomp the argos for no reason than to simply see the spin tsn puts on it.

  3. And by the by...we have two byes left....(The argo's have none heh heh).....We are looking at a strong finish hopefully with the rest spaced out nicely to take the west

  4. Walters has done a masterful job over the years with the cap, something he really doesn’t get enough credit for.

  5. Just checking out Ticketmaster, not too many tickets left for the Sept 29th game vs the Argos.

  6. By the by, we need 4 more points to ensure we finish ahead of the cRiders and the 8 points to ensure we finish ahead of the Lions. To finish ahead of the cRiders, we need any combination of 2 more Bomber wins or cRider losses. And, we need any combination of 4 more Bomber wins or Lions losses.

  7. if the roles were reversed, O'Shea wouldn't change a thing... he's run the 1s and beat the piss out of whoever lined up across from them. It's the end of September! There's a whole month-plus left yet. No chance anyone is resting their starters that early.

  8. Honestly it makes total sense if you are a play off team to go over the cap to the max dollar for dollar penalty if the move will make you any degree better. Not worth giving up the pick though. This year I don’t see any team having a fire sale, or any vet or group of vets coming from the nfl that would warrant that kind of money. Strevy is probably going back to the Jets, Alford is locked in with Atlanta and we don’t have many other coals in the fire. Maybe we put big money for the remainder of the season to a guy like Brandin Bryant, but I doubt he comes. And I doubt they give him that much. I think he’s likely to come back up in the off season or retire.

  9. If I'm Dinwiddie, I want to know what my team does well and does not do well against by far the best team they will face this year and most likely Grey Cup foe. There is 6 weeks left and lots of time for adjustment if that team proves to be much better....which I suspect they will. There is nothing that Toronto can hide from us now. The game film is out there. Going in and getting trounced in the final third of the season can have devastating effects on a young QB and you can't rest guys for 6 weeks and expect them to have any kind of cohesion come playoff time. You play your best, with your best, until the final couple weeks and get some key vets a breather just before the playoffs. Resting guys with a month and a half to go makes no sense at all. But hey....if Dinwiddie want to put his roster and game plans in the blender for 2 months of the regular season, he deserves the garbage he will get when they try put it back together.

  12. You also have to factor in the game cheques earned by his replacement and subtract that off the pro rated amount. So 42k in savings minus Agudosi's game cheques that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise. At league minimum that is 4k a game for 5 games so 20k. The savings for Lawler on the SMS are in fact 22k after cost of replacement. There is no way Agudosi or any other Bomber is earning league min on our PR....maybe RIchmond...that would be the only guy because he is the heir apparent to Bryant. Everyone else is making diddly on the PR.

  13. If anything...I think this will be more a statement game than any this yr...especially heading into the bye with T.O next up...at home before another sold out crowd....I will not be shocked to see a repeat of the B.C/SASK beat downs as well truth be told yeah....there not gonna be a 2022 Ham trip result this yr

  14. Just think with the way the CFL works...next years cap number is 0 as of today. They have the space to keep who they want and adjust if needed.

  15. Brady, I think you go three year deal with the guranteed money in year 3, somewhere between $150,000-$175,000 and its the first signing of the off season. Schoen I think stays too. Not sure how the money works but that's the GM's job.

  16. still pretty good... that'd be 3 sell outs this year? And then if we can sell out the home playoff game... that's a huge boost for the club. Love to see it.

  17. While anyone proving the "stitches to the snitches" would probably be good at it, I'm quite confident that Biggie would be at an elite level of doing it!

  18. I think you're right.....Argo's are going to be out to prove that the Cup win was no fluke.....This will be our first meeting since then and you know what they say about 'initial appearances'....they kind of stick......They look like they're hurting a bit...just read Gittens has been placed on the 6 game and they lost a pretty good defender awhile back....I doubt that will change things much and they'll be on top of their game....So will we....I hope it's a slobber knocker

  19. September 29th is WAY too early to be resting anyone or doing anything out of the ordinary, regardless of your playoff scenario. I have every reason to believe it'll be best on best in that game.

  20. The CFL SMS is purely an addition problem. There’s no offsets or LTIR allowances. At the end of the year they add the salaries and bonuses paid for each game. Active roster and 1 game.

  21. Didnt end up getting it but disappointed non the less. They open at 11:30(which is late for a burger joint to begin with), so i call at 11:30 on the button to place my order. She answers, i tell her my order, she stops me and says "actually were prepping right now so call us back at 12:00". Huh?? Youre not even interested in taking my order? I have to call you back? Your website says your open at 11:30, you answer the phone at 11:30, but youre not ready to take orders?? Heres an idea: Get there at 11:00 and start your f***ing prep so youre ready to take orders at 11:30 WHEN YOU OPEN. Needless to say i went somewhere else in the limited time i have to eat during work hours. Very disappointed in a place that ive always spoken very highly of.

  26. when you work your SMS you allocate the whole salaries if all bonuses and hard money is met, and also you allocate certain amount for injuries....etc....so it's actually not a matter of that coming out of savings on the 6 game...thats not how it works....GM's have pools of money in 3 piles to make it simple that they divy up prior to making roster...and those piles will fluctuate as they build and the actual hard numbers become realized....so essentially yes it's a lot of pure surplus....my understanding, and recall is that the smart gm's will allocate between 4-7 entry level deal portions of money...pro-rated to varying degrees for injury management

  28. Miller is over 100k according to 3DN. Rose might be 125k but he only missed 6 games that count against the SMS. That 1/3 his salary IF and this is a big IF he didn't get a single dollar up front. Grant may do 2/3 but we don't know yet. Hansen 80k. The problem I have with all of this is that you guys have given zero consideration to the cost of replacement for each roster player that we 6 game IR. Cap savings, and I will type this as slowly as I can because it seems to be lost on people, are the players salary minus the cost of replacement for players on the roster. If Miller loses the entire season at 100k, we do not have 100k in open cap space because of it. We have 100k - the cost of replacing him in the lineup. If we replace with someone on a rookie minimum deal the cost of replacement is 72k. That makes his entire stint on 6 game for the year a cap savings of 28k, The only time you get massive savings on the 6 game is when your stars go down, guys who make far more money than the cost of replacement. Haba, Gauthier, Clements, Lawrence, Beeksma, Hansen all represent little to no savings on the SMS to us because we MUST fill their roster or PR spots while they are injured. There is no 600k unicorn savings...that CAN'T happen under any scenario this year without half our team missing the rest of the season on the 6 game. Even 400k is a far fetched number. It's not happening. You guys need to understand that you can't just play short or roster short when a guy goes down. When someone goes down someone else goes in, and they get paid game cheques that count against the SMS and eat up a lot of the savings. We will be lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it, to have 275k in SMS savings from our injured players for the entire year.
    2 points
  29. I actually figured it is closer to 600k actually...U had Lawler....Grant...Hansen...Lawrence...Rose...Miller, Gauthier...Wilson..Now Darby...Miller round 3...Hansen round 3....even guys like Clements and Haba...all adds up off the books and available for 2024
    2 points
  30. There is no chance that combination of 6 game savings totals 325k. Not even close. Jeffcoat wasn't on the 6 game. Darby maybe 35k in savings for one stint, Hansen about 60k for two rounds, Rose about 40k, Lawler about 60k (we paid a considerable amount of this year's salary up front so it is just the prorated remainder), Miller about 80k for two rounds. So for the 6 game we have saved approximately 270k based on their reported salaries from 3DN. Keep in mind that I could not find any info on money up front on any of these players except Lawler, so the rest were prorated based on their full salary and that is unlikely. To get up over 300k some guys will need to finish their 2nd round of 6 game.

  36. someone brought up a good point earlier that we're going to have cap savings from 6-gamers this year, and that some guys might be able to have "next year money" within this year's cap. That kind of makes sense to me, in my admittedly limited knowledge of these proceedings....

  42. yeah...hard to say and a lot of speculations...with who got what....gets what....what we stashed..etc....but as a cap management aspect thats generally what the smart GM's do with allotment of the money....none the less tho...we will have a nice lil kitty available for re-ups/extensions going into 2024/25 which will greatly help the 2024 SMS
    1 point
  43. not always actually...and often rarely...Like I mentioned teams will have a allotment of monies set aside and accounted for in the over all SMS for the yr for injury replacements, and roster additions, that isn't coming from the allotted total money for the presumed 46 man roster....if it gets real bad injury wise then yes some will come from that savings, but for the most part they have that covered to an extent, because if they didn't they would be in cap hell in some scenarios Fairly certain when all said and done we will have about 500k at least to put toward 2024 contracts

  45. That depends. I'd over pay for one that's good to excellent, which are not easy to find or more teams would have them. Bryant's value to the Bombers cannot be overstated. I was referring to an OT of Bryant's calibre, or at least in shouting distance.
