I feel bad for Toby. He made a stellar D play the very sequence before he got burned for that goal. The kind of stellar play that goes underappreciated because he doesn't play 82 anymore and get 50 pts while doing it. But alas, the last one to change often gets the scorn the next day. He just can't make the same plays he could 5 years ago. Same goes for Troobs. He got victimized on VGK first goal, but to me that's on 55 & 26 way before Trouba. Top line played well last night, don't get me wrong. But you can't (just can't) give up a road goal 30 secs in like that. Scheifs simply just has to get it in deep....who knows how that period would have played out if we don't start so poorly. Teams are supposed to be good, and VGK are. Jets win game 4, get home ice back, and take care of business. When Jets are doubted and have back against the wall, we play our best. Fair point about whataboutism. Obama "mis-steps" vs trumps never ending scandals in this white house: totally different animal - you can't really compare the two. It really doesn't matter though- trump is, hand's down, the worst, most corrupt and incompetent POTUS ever. I just hope the US peoples learn from this and educate themselves better on the candidates and their platforms in the future.

I'm guessing Tanev has played way more minutes that Armia, Copp and Roslovic. Heck JRoc has barely played. I don't think anyone is saying Tanev isn't a good player, but IMO he's a good 4th line player, on this team. Having him on the 2nd line isn't good. He just doesn't have the right skill set to be in the top 6. I have no way to confirm it, but I noticed a couple of times, last night, where it appeared that when Laine had the puck, he looked over to Tanev's wing, but elected to hold onto the puck and distribute it elsewhere. If that was the case, and he doesn't feel comfortable with Tanev on his line, it's likely impeding his play. Hopefully Ehlers will be back and we don't have to worry about it.

I'm genuinely curious - do you think both of those things are true? I didn't watch Vegas at all during the season - their speed and tenacity as part of a team concept is quite an interesting mix.

I'm very glad we picked up Ross. He has his first year and snaps in his back pocket already. This year, it seems likely he will receive the #2 reps in practice and continue in his development.

Fleury has been the difference the last two games. Don't get me wrong: the Jets have committed some disgusting errors and most of them have resulted in the puck in the back of their net. They need to get back to playing fast, smart, and tight if they hope to get back into this series. Hopefully, their play in the third tonight is a sign of things to come. Friday is now a must win game.

we call that pulling a milt. never forget on the previous play edm did the exact same thing, milt was open and kg missed him. how on earth you see that once and call the same defense on the next play I will never know. An example was Leslie Mahafee's decision to not torture her friend ant the behest of Carla Homolka and Paul Bernardo. She said,"No. Some things are worth dying for" and they killed her. Rosa Parks was arrested, assaulted and jailed for her refusal to go to the back of the bus. The list goes on and on. Money does not define what is important.

With today's surprise retirement by Durant, it reaffirms my belief that the team is worse than last year. Lost Westerman, lost Bond, no quality vet backup, no new promising middle linebackers brought in to compete for the spot, loss of Heath. Our top end Canadian depth has declined for two consecutive years by the looks of things...unless some of the young players like Corney, Couture, Spooner and Ekakatie take a monumental leap forward. Players like this will have to improve to compensate for the decline of older players like Dressler, Harris, Leggett? (Depends on how he bounces back from injury).
