  2. All I say is that Tanev is a perfect playoff guy. I bet who ever the Jets are going to play in the first round and on will not be huge fans of Tanev by the end of the series.

  4. There is something to be said for not worrying too much where you finish in the standings (i.e., average regular season) as long as it's 16 or better. Then do your damage.

  8. Yes, they do. Enstrom is better statistically (Corsi and Fenwick) than Chiarot is this year. https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/e/enstrto01.html https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/chiarbe01.html

  9. Yeah, that is a head-scratcher... Harper was WAY more experienced... I mean JT had some experience, being the son of a former PM and some small stints in politics- But Harper had loads more- you know, being a PM himself... Not sure what non-sense promises you are referring to. I am still pissed at the Libs dropping their crusade against FPtP. I was hoping that was the last election of FPtP.

Really? You shouldn't be. It's the same old same: get sick of a particular ruling party's policies and demand change by voting them out for the opposing party. Liberal gov't, get sick of their policies and vote them out; Conservative gov't, get sick of their policies and vote them out; Liberal gov't, get sick of their policies and vote them out; etc., etc. It never changes and regular folks wind up getting stuck with the bill. Partisan politics are a polarized disaster these days. Our great nation is no exception, unfortunately.

  12. Interesting, because statistically, Enstrom is a better dman and the Jets are better with him in the line-up.

  13. And FWIW, I don't think we are the only "top flight" West team with Canadian question marks. I don't even think ours are the biggest question marks. Calgary, way more issues than us IMO ... they've got Singleton, Bergman, Erdos, Wilson, they've got to find 2 receivers to play for them between Brescacin/Parker/Durant and then they still need another starter somewhere whether it's Wiggan/Colling at DT or Adeleke at SAM. Don't know about the health status of Lavertu or Turner, but I suppose they could be factors (Turner more so than Lavertu, who I think may be finished) Saskatchewan is in just as rough shape if not worse, Edmonton has a few question marks but they're looking alright. I guess all I'm saying is it's normal to have questions that need answering in March.

  21. There is nothing wrong with FPtP, lefties just don't like it because it splits their vote between NDP and Liberals. Didn't see them complaining when it was killing the Conservatives during the PC/Reform/Canadian Alliance split years.

  22. Hot take. That could mean only one Pacific team left in the playoffs after round 1. I would like to see the NHL move to a 1 to 8 seeding system, with reseeding after the first round.

  27. Well again, they had a major global recession and ran deficits at a time their opposition demanded even larger deficits. They cleaned things up and set up the Liberals for a balanced budget...which not only is not materializing but is even worse than they promised during the campaign. It is certainly amusing that they ran such large deficits the part of fiscal restraint. GST cut was a promise they made and lived up to. I disagree with it also. I have no problem with GST type taxes or sin taxes. Lower my income tax. Let me keep more of MY money. Then Ill decide how much tax to pay based on how many purchases of goods I make.

Some people decide their position without worrying too much about facts. The Conservative party ruled for fifty years in Alberta, and left a mess. As soon as the NDP was elected, the mess was the NDP party's doing. Out of office, Conservatives complain about spending, in office, set records for adding to national debts. Out of office again, demand cuts to everything. Conservatives still say "trickle down" works, even though it's been thoroughly discredited. Example Still, Conservatives good, liberals bad! or vice versa, or, both bad. Same thing no matter where you are, Obama, Trump, Putin. This is the way things are. Maybe Because "my father and grandfather were both ( party name here ____________________).

  32. Kulikov out is a big loss. Trouba should be back sooner than later and he and Morrissey are going to be a key tandem in the post-season.

  33. Thats true but if you want to make personal attacks about someone's hockey knowledge as a result of an opinion shared by the veteran head coach, it sort of defeats your argument. We can debate or discuss Tanev vs Roslo but its not a hockey knowledge thing. I was just illustrating that your reply was unfair.

  34. Yea...other teams have problems too. That should only serve as a silver lining though. I could care less what problems other teams have. The Bombers only focus, and I'm sure it is, is the problems the Bombers have right now. While I agree that March may be a little early for hand wringing it is also after FA, and the majority of other teams releases have been done. The window for improving our ratio and ratio flex is very narrow now. There are still a couple good options, but man losing Westerman hurt. It's repairable, and certainly not a death blow to our club if we do not have 2 NAT defensive starters.....but it sure would help us because we need to upgrade if we want to be a Grey Cup contender.

  38. He was center on the 4th line 2 games ago and looked good. The fact u think Tanev should play over Roslo makes me truly question your hockey knowledge. Tanev blocks shots? Oh wow... Must mean when hes on the ice the other team has the puck lots... Tanev shouldn't be playing and id imagine if Roslo didnt take a puck off the foot last game hed be playing still. Tanev is not good. Copp Lowry Armia checking line is better than Tanev Lowry Armia.

  40. That's very sad, he was one of Canada's very best stand-up comedians in his time. I saw a sad documentary on him a few years ago were he spoke about his bi-polar disorder and having to move back to Canada from L.A. in order to help pay for treatment for hepatitis C and a liver transplant which probably contributed to his demise.

  43. Harris, Demski, Coates, Neufeld, Goossen, Chungh, Loffler Seems pretty straight forward to me. Not ideal, but I don't mind Coates as a player anyways. Don't think we have to count on anyone to make huge strides this year ... just health, which is any team. I'd love to have Muamba ... don't much care for him as a professional, but he is a good football player ... but really, the best thing you can do is make your best offer and it appears we've done that. If we don't get him, fine. Oh well.

  44. Muamba is a good player, but is he reliable? Been a mercenary the whole time, not sure that's the guy you make changes to your roster for.
